I have had this laser for 11 months and it has had many glitches and error codes. Unfortunately even with the guidance from the representative from the company I still have been unable to get a usable product. My laser did not have a manual and I was told there wasn't one at that time. I will now contact the company and trial some of your parameters. Your video shows it can work and I am ready to try again. Thank you and I hope you can make more tutorials with this laser.
Great video mate, I have this laser machine too, I use lightburn mainly and have made some awesome slate coasters, for the money and size I truly believe this is one of the best lasers in its class.
Thank you! I actually checked out your videos while I was waiting for mine to come in lol - Ill have to play more in lightburn, LaserGRBL is nice but very basic
@@CASSDesigns hi mate, ah that’s cool thank you, I’ll be making more soon, and I look forward to seeing your update videos too.👍 Yeah I was going to use GRBL but as lightburn is a full editor as well I thought it was the best thing to go with. I like that it gives you a free trial so you can decide to buy it or not but to be fair it’s definitely worth the money.. happy engraving..
I love that you were able to etch stainless steel, what settings did you use on your test? I just set my P7 M40 today and haven’t quite figured out the optimal settings. Thanks for your help
I have bought two and the third is on the way from NewEgg The first two were duds I hope the 3rd works as says . I got it for $198.00 New Egg If not Ill get the Laser Pecker 4 when its out
The only way I get it to engrave steel well is by drawing over the area I engrave with in dry erase marker and putting the laser to 100% and going pretty slow. I saw people online paint steel with primer then engrave and wipe the primer off with solvent but haven't personally tried it yet
Hello, I also have the Atomstack P7. Unfortunately I'm not happy with it. When I engrave fine lines or letters that are engraved line by line, I get an offset of about 1mm. Is that the case with you too? What can I do against it?
that depends on what resolution you're engraving with, like how many lines per millimeter but thats a relatively small area so pretty quick, maybe a couple of minutes max? for the larger engravings I did on the wood pieces it took like 40 minutes, the medium sized ones took like 10 minutes, so yours should be pretty quick
I tried with clear acrylic and it worked but I didn’t dial in the parameters too well, it didn’t look too clean. Black or colored acrylic might work much better
Hi man, great video very informative but I have a question regarding the first test in wood, how do you get rid of the lines to engrave the coaster because I tried with my logo also in .png but only lines came out and I wanted a clear look like without the lines
Thanks - I think I know what you mean, if you change the lines per millimeter to a higher count then there will be less space between each line the laser engraves so it will look solid
Thanks for making this review looking at getting into laser cutting and this really breaks it down to what someone at my level needs to know

@@MarcRCAddict just started using lightburn - definitely worth the money!
I’ve been engraving at 15lines per mm and I got really great results, that’s, for the review
I meant thanks not that’s
Thank you for your thoughtful review!

I ran the laser at 100% power and I believe my speed was at 40%? I’m not 100% sure on the speed but I just kept going slower until it looked best
I have bought two and the third is on the way from NewEgg The first two were duds I hope the 3rd works as says . I got it for $198.00 New Egg If not Ill get the Laser Pecker 4 when its out
Hey I’m trying to engrave stainless steel bottles with this laser but I can’t find the right configuration, have you tried?

Will you do mugs, glass...or maybe an otterbox case for a phone?
What safety glasses do you use for this laser?
Have mine just waiting for a Honeycombsbase
I’m gonna get one of those soon too! Let me know how you like it

Hey! I did not have that issue - what software are you using to engrave?
im heving this problem where the light keeps flashing and the laser keeps making a wierd noise and it wont connect to the cpu
Nvm I fixed it
how long will this take to engrave on acrylic area .75" x .25"?

Can u cut .34mm metal?
It is advertised that it can only engrave, not cut metal
Only acrylic it can cut is Black
