I love your videos. I lived in Australia for 16yrs and UK for 4 yrs. U are so right about bluntness in the positive way. Ppl here find it strange that u dont find us rasist. It's like why would we be? But i get u compleatly cos even dough i am white, while i lived in Australia there was always an underlining tone of non eccaptance whare u always felt like an outsider. U radiate such warm energy. Happy NY. love your videos. Ps. Feel free to criticise us as well. 🎉❤

      Thank you for watching!
I know there is a big Serbian community in Australia (I've met a few Serbian-Australians who have moved back to Serbia), and I'm so glad my content has reached you 🙂
I've never been to Australia (though I have spent time in New Zealand) I've heard many "people of color," aboriginal, and Serbians (along with Eastern Europeans), face racism and discrimination 🥲
As far as criticism about Serbia, I'll make a video lol but it will be short since I'm so happy and have only a handful of bad experiences.

Hi Blair, as someone who is born in Belgrade and spent many years in different countries i agree with everything you said but if you want to feel real Serbian hospitality and kindness you should visit some of the smaller cities. Not far away from Belgrade, maybe 60-70 km. That spirit of kindness and unity is even more pronounced than in a Capital city. Best regards and happy new year 🎊

You're a gem, thanks for being here, you enrich our city and county with your positive personality!
On the topic of renowned Belgrade girls' beauty, I too had to "step up my game" as you said it, when I came back to live here, in my native Belgrade, after only 3 years living in Toronto Canada.
    Girl.
I came back thinking I was going to be "the sht", but no. Whenever I went I felt like the worst dressed person in the room.
I kid you not, I started avoiding going to some of those best supermarkets in Vracar, Kalemegdan and Dorcol neighborhoods, I was like, you guys are way too beauty magazine looking for me, I can't compete, I'm throwing in the towel, I don't need a freshly developed inferiority complex at my adult age 😂.

Nice video, glad you feel good here. i want to make a point about raciscm, hope it clarifies some missconceptions.
People should not count whats happening on football stadiums as racism. Football fans in Europe are extremely passionate and when they cheer for their team they are emotionally feeling the opposite players almost as war enemies, so they are ready to shout whatever comes to their mind in order to emorionally hurt the opposite player. Yeah, its bad, but its not racism, and it goes to all people whatever the color of their skin. Its just easy for them to slip into racist shouting in that highly emotional moment because they know it will hurt them , while they would probably hug that same person outside of the sport game. Its not personal.
It is the same driving force thats "forcing" them to shout "Return your head back to the horse" to the white guy. Its not racist, its just how the crowd manages defeat in a awkward way. The crowd is ALWAYS mean and weak. So while shouting on stadium can be racistic (and should be banned) the motivation behind it is not, at least not always, and certainly not in Serbia.
Thanks for your nice words and happy new year :)

sports is a very complex subject, you will find many racial, ethnic and religious slurs being shouted at the opposing team but that's not genuine xenophobia, people shout those to intentionally offend the other team and provoke a reaction, they don't actually stand for what they're saying, it's probably one of the more difficult concepts to grasp as a foreigner but if you encounter those at an emotionally charged game you can safely ignore it

***HAPPY NEW YEAR*** Serbs really know how to party!!!
The 'SLAVA' is the greatest celebration in Serbia, maybe in the world! Every family tree in Serbia adopted a (one of) 'patron saint' who's day is celebrated every year. Many families have adopted the same patron-saint decades or centuries ago so you'll have multiple celebration throughout the town! It is often multi-days feast, blessed by the priest, and everyone is welcome - no invitation needed. Of course, in major metropolises like Belgrade or Novi Sad with diverse ethnic and religious population those SLAVAS are less prevalent (it's a Christian holiday after all) but in the rest of the country it's all the RAGE!

As Serbian I give you honest opinion,. Communist architecture, unplanned and unfinished houses, bad infrastructure, garbage... Nature is dissent lots of hills and mountains We have a lot of historic cities from different periods, prehistory, Roman empire, medieval, Ottoman empire... . Economy is bad, big majority of people working for 600 euros. Serbia is very safe country, crime is mostly "organized" so their is no dangers areaa. About mentality, people and are friendly and hospitality but uneducated. About Night there is a myth about quality "night life" in Serbia, it's very boring, in caffe shops and restaurants everybody watch there owns business. There's Everybody have their group and stick together like a clan all evening.
