SASSY SISTERS Teresa and Anna were born with similar congenital limb differences - they have both lived their entire lives without arms. Having each been adopted by their mum at a young age, who encouraged them to be fiercely independent, they grew up learning to use their feet as hands. Teresa told truly: "Anything I do is definitely centered around my limb difference because the world is not built for someone missing both their arms, so I'm constantly having to adapt." But Teresa has not had to navigate her situation alone - the sisters have grown up supporting each other, as Anna explained: "That is very valuable to have someone that I am close with who shares the same experience. We are truly the only ones who understand each other." Despite this, the pair have faced extreme judgement for their visible differences, something Teresa describes as feeling "like a walking zoo exhibit. It's frustrating because we don't want to be the centre of attention." She puts this down to a "lack of education" - something she has taken to social media to address. Posting videos demonstrating how she goes about everyday tasks such as getting dressed, eating and putting the bins out, Teresa is tackling the stigmas around physical disability head on. She has even teamed up with Anna on several videos to debunk common misconceptions they encounter day-to-day. And while trolls seek to drag the sisters down by dropping negativity in the comments section, Teresa has coined the term "arms are overrated" as a direct response to the hate and the pair are defiant in their belief that "there is power in difference." Their message to the world is simple: "We're just like everyone else - we may adapt and find other ways to do things, but in the end we're all human and we have so much in common."

How could anyone say anything negative about these unbelievable human beings?! I am absolutely amazed at everything these girls can do with their feet. Those haters out there should try walking in the sisters' shoes and see what they're capable of.
I could. And I don't find them super spectacular, but do think they're just fine. Now, while I don't hate them one bit, but like how they are in the video, I possibly could hate them for what their politics might be.

True true life brings you crazy ways to make you realize how short it really is. Helped me realize a lot about my own life

That was great to hear that Anna’s mother adopted another girl, Teresa, with a similar limb difference! Not many people are lucky to have siblings or friends who can relate to something like this if you know what I’m saying!

One of the best aspects of You Tube is exposing large numbers of people to the reality of minorities of people with a variety of physical features. I never knew about conjoined twins or those born without arms or other limbs. I never encountered this and so didn’t think about it. I am grateful for this exposure and to learn how people cope, thrive and excel, physically, socially and emotionally. I am grateful to those who are presented on You Tube because they are really enlightening so many people. Thank you.
These ungrateful people always have to judge people with no arms, syndromes and/or how they’re born with. As an autism guy with special needs, I respect amputees. These ladies deserve all the love and respect.💙💙💙💙💙

Listening to these gorgeous young women talk, their intelligence and vibrant personalities shine through, overshadowing their physical condition. I am so heartened to hear that their relationship has blossomed and strengthened over the years, but heartbroken that people can be so cruel. It just does not make sense to me.

When someone says something hateful it tell you so much more about them than the person they are ridiculing. I love meeting different people, always have, and in my 57 years on this earth I’ve learned some people have outward differences whereas others are internal, but we are all created uniquely and wonderfully.

Arms are not overrated because being able to walk and eat at the same time is a fundamental pleasure of life. But if you're born without them, for you that's normal and it doesn't have to stop you from living a full life and doing almost everything a person with arms can do.

ive been complaining and hating life but everyday i have food water and shelter and i am 100% perfectly able body. if i was disable, i would probably be cursing God and really hating life. Being grateful and humble before God is what we must all try to strive for.
Instead of being angry if you was disabled, which won't help you,why not make the best of what you have.

Some of these comments are just so stupid. Some people are exaggerating on how gorgeous and inspirational and how much stronger they are than the rest of the world. They're just like any other basic person in this world, they were just born without arms.

I fully understand why you would not want to be stared at. Yet, it's natural instinct to gaze at something unfamiliar, so it's hard.
But it doesn’t have to be unfamiliar. With better accessibility and understanding (so more disabled people can participate in society) and representation of disability in the media, people would become accustomed to it. And know the etiquette on how to act even if it is a rarer disability you aren’t familiar with still.
There is looking and there is staring. One should never stare at another no matter. I can understand a double take, but not staring. It’s simply rude.

Two beautiful sisters are adopted by a wonderful caring mom. Life can be cruel towards people with disabilities but these two are very strong minded. Lot's of challenges ahead in life I really respect them both. I wish people would be kinder towards people with disabilities because one day you and might have injuries that might lead us to have disabilities as well. You than would not like people to treat you different. It's better to be kind to everyone no matter what. Best wishes to both of the sisters. My girlfriend is from Vietnam and I'm from Laos.

I love that they are both adopted from Vietnam. I thought Teresa was older. No Anna is by seven years. Teresa is seven years younger than no Anna is the older sister.

You would think in this day and age people would be more appreciative of others with differences. What is all the staring about? We are not all the same get over it people. You ladies are so beautiful and you are amazing self advocates. Keep up the good work.
Hubby and I adopted 4 kids from China and we are trying to adopt 1 more currently but China has been closed. We also have 2 adult biological sons. We love China. My second son, who is a Pastor would love to marry a girl who was originally adopted because he loves his siblings and the culture of China so much.
In our family we don’t consider people disabled, we consider them to just have a difference. The reality is, for these girls and my kids too…they were born different. They were not born broken and need fixing…as I have heard from so many horrible doctors!
They are perfect just the way they are and have unending value! They matter!
Ladies, don’t ever let anyone determine your value based on THEIR opinions. You truly matter!
