    I actually did the same day trip to Koh Lipe while staying in Langkawi in Jan 2017 for 1 week from Telaga Harbour. I explored most of the island and still had plenty of time left before heading back to Langkawi. Then I decided to go to Koh Lipe again in the following year in Feb 2018 staying for 3 nights at Bundhaya Resort after staying in Ao Nang/Krabi for 5 nights, 3 nights Koh Phi Phi Don and 1 night in Koh Lanta

      That's a good choice! After visiting Koh Lipe myself I realized that the best thing to do there is... island hopping! Planning to make it all the way to Phuket next time!

      @@SoAndrew There is the Mangrove Tour which I think it is better. Personally I didn't like Phuket much but the Krabi Province (Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Krabi, Ao Nang, Koh Yao Noi, Railey) is amazing

      More than enough to explore neighbour beautiful islands. Weather is perfect there between November and March! So I’m also going to Phuket in December 😂

    Hi,
    We also have the same plan, we have return flight from Langkawi to Bangalore but going to koh lipe in between, in this case we will have to re enter malaysia again, is this allowed that we again fill the NDAC form upon reentry or do we need multiple entry visa ?

    • @SoAndrew
      @SoAndrew  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, you have to re-enter Malaysia again and make sure your visa to Malaysia is multi-entry, so you could come back. Entry form you need to fill out again, since you entering country.

      Yes, you definitely should! Just make sure you have extra Thai baht in cash along.

      @@DouniaELJAOUHARI-k1f yes, you can exchange USD to THB in Langkawi, I’ve done it at the airport.
      You need 300 THB in cash to pay mandatory national park fee entrance at immigration upon arriving. Western restaurants are around THB 400-500 per person. Taxi anywhere is fixed at THB 50, so I would recommend to bring around THB 1,000 per person (USD 30) for a day trip to Koh Lipe. Otherwise you can bring around THB 500-700 (USD 15-20) per person and pay at the restaurants with bank card.
      If you’re from North America or Europe, your passport doesn’t need visa. But you better check about your passport visa requirements for Thailand.

      I did this as day trip from Langkawi and you can definitely do it with reasonable time but it is during their peak season around December to May. I've explored the main beaches in Koh Lipe with still a couple of hours to spare

    Where did you get local cash from?

    • @SoAndrew
      @SoAndrew  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exchanged in Langkawi a day before. I recommend to bring cash to Koh Lipe, not to exchange on the spot, since rates are terrible there.

    Is meal or food expensive? I guess it should be.

    • @SoAndrew
      @SoAndrew  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very expensive. Restaurant meal would be 2-3 times more expensive than in the rest of Thailand.

      @@keangwooichoo6138 For sure! In the beginning of 2020 I was planning a trip to Semporna, it's remote town near Tawau (got nice convenient and cheap flights from KL back then) in Sabah and main gateway to the islands. But lockdown happened and haven't travelled there. Still in my list. And agreed, need more time, just 3-days long weekend won't be enough...
