I've never met anyone else who's named their German Shepherd Saber :D It's a very good name for the breed I find, but i got it from his colouring sable. I didn't want to name him directly Sable since i felt it was like naming a black dog Shadow, So i changed around the words to Saber :) They look so alike too, just my Saber is a little bit darker I think :)

My dog died on February 5th 2020 (yesterday) so I came here for a Look back. It made me cry because it is his bday in 4 days😭. He was so playfully as we had a big family and the children were close together and he would join in😂. I said goodnight to him a few days ago and j went outside to fees him the day if his death. The vet said he had a quick painless stroke and collapsed. He died with his head on my dad's lap and the vets and my mam stroked him and kissed him untill he slowly closed his eyes and past away....RIP TO THE BEST DOG AND AN UNFORGETTABLE GERMAN SHEPARD...Simba 2012 -2020

Dylan I'm sorry for your loss. I've been hesitant now for a long time about getting another dog since mine passed away a year ago. You want them to live as long as you, but know that's not going to happen, so it's tough. Again, I'm very sorry, and I hope you get another dog someday.

I rescued a dying black german shepherd from the harsh Oklahoma summer, her pads were bloodied and worn off and she had given up in the middle of a field. Her pointy ears were the only thing I could see so I pulled over and walked through the tall grass hoping not to get bit by a snake. There she laid, half conscious. After an hour I was able to help her to my car, took her home, gave her a cool bath and put her in our giant kennel ... made a dozen scrambled eggs, gave her food, water and let the fan relax her and bring her body temperature down. 5 months later she is the best dog I've ever owned. She adopted my Yorkie whom I bottle fed from birth after her mom died after she had her litter and she is so gentle and loving. She sleeps by the front door to protect the house and she always always always comes up to stare me in the eye and thank me for saving her. She adores my kids. She loves to go for car rides. German shepherds are the best.

So cool to see the stages of growth. The legs and paws always a few months ahead of the rest and ears from floppy to rabbity and everything in between and beyond. Love this.
One more thing, I never noticed how long German Shepherd tails are until now.

He did grow up with one, and she was a sweet dog.
She died of old age, which is honestly the ideal outcome of a well-loved dog. She was loved, well looked after, and an overall good girl.
I think she's waiting for the rest of her family, even though my grandfather's already joined her in 1993.

So adorable. It's hard to believe how much he grew in just one year. I gave my German Shepherd a steak for his b-day too, and it was gone in around ten seconds. He wolfed it down like nothing.
My German Shepherd is almost 5 months old now. She's such a good dog and is learning super quickly. Seeing this video makes me excited for the future!

@@sarahs7751 heel is a bit hard to explain. I’d recommend meeting with a trainer to show you that one. Puppy biting is pretty easy to correct though. My dog only bit when I was playing with her and she got too excited, so right when she bit I stopped petting and said “Ow!” To let her know she had hurt me. She usually stopped right away and then I said “good!” And rewarded by resuming playing. Just gotta be consistent with that.
The GSD sure made the house and yard look small in little time.

@@donovanbishop5811 It's a matter of putting in the time during your off-hours to training them properly. Dogs grow quickly but you have a lot of time between the 2 month mark and one year.
Gorgeous boy! My 9 yr old GSD Leena is my daughter and best friend since the day I got her at 7 weeks old. May he bring you as much joy and unconditional love as Leena has for me!

On Thanksgiving Day, we usually eat various kinds of food with our family.
I miss my german shepherd, got him at 6 weeks old when i was 11. I'm almost 24 now and he just passed in the last year. He was the most loyal, most loving, most protective best dog anyone could ever ask for and my best friend.
I just got my 8 weeks GS purebred today and I can say I will cry my eyes out when his day will come. I'm attached already 🐕❤️

A healing video after losing my granddaughters dog Thunder at 9 years of age last Sunday. Cancer of the Spleen took him from healthy to Heaven overnight. We watched it together and this video drew out all the memories and life goes onward, but thanks.

This was a really good video. Your training is excellent, loved the leash control bit and the wee boy giving the hand signal commands, so cute. Also your gentle sense of humour with slight "disobeying" like pulling you down the hill, or jumping out of the bath. You guys have a very handsome, bright dog and it's great to see so much love.

Its funny. I didn't teach my dog doing these things. Although when she was a puppy she could do more tricks like give me a paw. But nowadays when I trow a ball she catches it without letting it touch the ground. The same works for food so that I don't need to clean the ground at the kitchen.

German Shepherds seriously are the best breed of dog you can watch grow up. Getting our little girl at 8 weeks with her big paws to grow into. Then the awkward ear stage 🤣 and to see her grown into this beautiful girl. With 3 human sisters to look after, they love her to death. 12 yrs young and going strong. Love your video brought back all the memories of when our little girl was a baby and all the silly stuff they get up to.

Ever heard of rescue GSD's? That's an option. From a good rescue, adoptable German Shepherds will be temperament tested, vetted, spay/neutered, vaccinated, and you'll get one that fits your lifestyle and experience level. People often rehome them due to their high activity level. Don't just fall for the cute puppy in the video. GSD's are not the type of dog to just buy on any whim. They take research, experience, plenty of money, and you better be prepared to commit time to this dog for 13+ years. They're quite expensive to manage in their senior years, being prone to inevitable arthritis issues, and that is the least of the expectations you will face. They're wonderful dogs, but not for the inexperienced. Some GSD's can be highly domineering with people and/or other dogs, and they're not a forgiving type of dog. Quite a sensitive minded breed, imo + needs plenty of activity + good early socialization. It's easy to end up with a behavioral disaster if you have no idea what you're doing. If you know zilch, and simply must have one, your best bet is to find an established reputable breeder. Stay away from unscrupulous breeders that skip out on health tests.
If you've never had a GSD, you might want to ask just how much they shed. They're otherwise known as German Shedders. The hair will stick to everything, especially when the coat blows out.
This video is cute but they skipped showing you ear cleaning, nail trimming, and all that necessary stuff.

You did a great job training your puppy. I really liked that the family was involved with the training as well. Saber behavior reminded me so much of our GSD. I'm going to get you". Our dog would run around like mad for 3-4 laps very similar to Saber. The ball chasing was very enjoyable as well.
