The tutorial level of Sly Cooper. Just jump off the roof. And all the key skips.
Pokémon Gen1. Not only can you skip fighting the Ghost of Marowak with a Poké Doll, you can skip the entire Pokémon Tower using the Remove Snorlax glitch (uses the same mechanics but is easier than the Level 100 Gengar before Brock glitch). Not to mention, of the 8 Trainers in Viridian Gym, you only need to fight 2.

You can actually skip Dark Souls if, after losing to the Capra Demon 57 times, you take the game disk out to a lake and throw it at the correct angle

Kind of expected the Dishonored 2 level skip to be Mike's miracle shot at Jindosh. Honestly that was faster, more impressive and more unexpected than solving Jindosh's lock.

Actually, Jindosh's riddle is the opposite of "hilariously simple". It's harder if anything :D
I was expecting the time stop spam where you ignore all the wall of lights and make Jindosh fall to his death by removing the bridge. Or just link his mind with an Emily clone through the door and kill the clone.
Or just climbing the wall at the side of the harbour on the second level right up to the tram station and the end of the level. Whole level can be done in about 90 seconds if you know what you're doing. First time I tried it only took me 3-4 minutes
Mike is a master of the trick shot. Remember the headshot in Siege?

Accurately describes a nerd gamer lol. Surprisingly bad at school, however seems to solve riddles, equations and stuff that the worlds geniuses probably couldn’t figure out. Also pretty bad at physical things

Superman 64: Instead of pressing Start at the beginning of the game, if you press the power button you skip the game altogether. This should be tried by all.
Arena, the first Elder Scrolls game, had a spell called Passwall that allowed you to delete sections of some walls, which would allow you to skip entire floors of dungeons by creating a
direct tunnel to the exit. You could even use it to get around some of the magic doors you have to answer a riddle to open.
In the second one, you could often climb out of the dungeon, run around on top of the ceilings until you found the target and glitch back into the inside.
I remember going in one dungeon and deleting a wall right next to the entrance, took about two steps, deleted another wall, and then just grabbed the quest item and left. I love how easy it was too cheat with magic in Arena lol.
@@Shinigami41395 I found that it took a lot of the tedium out of the game really. Grinding your way through all the enemies gets boring after a while, whereas figuring out the dungeon layout engine is an interesting intellectual exercise much more befitting of a wizard.
To me the broken bit was that the shield spells were more power efficient than healing spells and never timed out... And, I think, stacked... By the end I was playing an unstoppable juggernaut with the equivalent of thousands of HP, but fairly low damage output so he'd just stalk through dungeons and then carve his enemies to pieces slowly and painfully with a dagger... (gotta save the magic for more shielding you know.)
It kind of got a little dark really...
God bless you Ellen. I also paused the game, made my grid, and worked the logic puzzle for good knows how long until I had the answer and keyed it in. I’m so happy to know that “feeling smug” is a natural side effect of going through that effort.

This is going back a few years... decades (whatever! I'm old, okay!), but you can skip the entire game in The Hobbit for the ZX Spectrum. At the beginning of the game, when your in your hobbit hole, instead of going off and battling trolls, dragons and huge spiders, be sensible and climb into the empty chest. Close it on yourself to keep the aformentioned monsters out, then try to break it. After several attempts a message will pop-up with Gandalf congratulating you on defeating Smaug! You don't miss second breakfast and you don't miss all that dodgy CGI.
Ellen: "Got it on the first try!"
Luke: "But... what about..."
Ellen (Jane mode): "I said, 'first try'!"
And after all that talk about not letting the Jindosh lock go to her head.

So many 90s video games are less "creative" and more "fever dream"
As both a fan of logic and an obsessive completionist I will attest here that solving the Dishonored 2 Jindosh Lock is much quicker than clearing out the entire level of loot and enemies, taking down both leaders and sending them off in a crate. I will also attest that I solve the lock anyway before going to clear out the level.
I don't do either, I just sneak into the saloon and break the door to the room holding the code lol
You can go loud, steal the code, reload the start of the level, and enter the code. That’s how speedrunners do it

These list videos would be perfect candidates for youtube's chapter system. You have a spoiler list in order of appearance, so if I wanted to skip the third item on a given list for fear of spoilers, I currently have to scrub through the episode wherein clips of other games besides the one we're talking about are often used for illustrative and hilarious purposes and hope I don't click just a bit too soon and catch something I wasn't meant to hear. I've skipped levels by skipping some games altogether.
Ellen's "warning"/"angry" look is gold every time! Reminds me of my "scary aunty voice" which lets my niblings know I mean business- don't even need to raise my voice. 🤨😄 See, it's the generally smiley people one needs to watch out for. Hahaha!!! 🤣

For the Halo one, I'm familiar with the trick where you play it coop, and you can exploit the game to slide down the cliff wall and eventually, get to the bottom. Same deal, in that no enemies will spawn. But, you'll have to take ground vehicles through the level. Also, the advantage of all of this, even if it's with the banshee, is you can get to the final area, park the banshee in just the right spot, and listen to the Siege of Madrigal. In coop, you can have one player stand in the spot, and the rest can even continue through the level, and it'll even keep playing during the cutscene.
You can do it solo, I’ve done it but co-op is highly recommend as one mistake and you have to start all over again
@@PSYCHOPATH_AT_LARGE I sort of have as well. Mainly, if using a trainer counts. Hell, a trainer can be especially fun with cursed Halo. Because now, you can have infinite d20 grenades to toss.
@@SheosMan117 i did on xbox mcc with a guide next to me and took me a few days to achieve. man, legendary was a bastard but it still was far easier then killing Regret in Halo 2 legendary
@@PSYCHOPATH_AT_LARGE I once saw a video, a LONG time ago, of someone killing Regret, on Legendary, with the Mythic skull active. Now THAT was a fight. Honor guard elites could get stuck and live, something that would actually kill them on regular legendary. Regret himself was some deal where you had to toss a grenade in such a way it goes IN his shield, THEN board his hover throne and punch the shield away. And rinse and repeat. It was years ago I last saw this video, so there's likely things I forget.

It took me longer to kill regret himself, on legendary, then it took eli to complete halo 2 LASO, yet alone without shooting. Halo 2 is such a unforgiving bitch

Good on Ellen for figuring out that Dishonored logic puzzle! I've always found logic puzzles fun and satisfying so it's nice to see someone else who appreciates them as well!
That Halo level reminded me of the phrase "I would have been your daddy", which appears as Foehammer lowers Chief into the starting zone. Fun fact, Sergeant Johnson will sometimes say "I would have been your daddy but the dog beat me over the fence", which is where the reference originates.
I'm actually impressed at the table Ellen used to solve the Jindosh riddle. I might even use it myself at some point
It actually exists online, pre-filled, where someone went through and basically said "Hey, if this is here and this is here, then this is the result." My second Dishonored 2 playthrough was a bit shorter because of that.
Loved seeing my Robocod suggestion make it to one of these! Although I understand that you weren't fans of the game, I choose to believe it was because you didn't reach any of the levels with the Magical Flying Bathtub in it - still one of the best vehicles in gaming, 3 decades later. If you do want to experience it yourself, you can collect the items at the start of the game in this order: Cake, Hammer, Earth, Apple, Tap, then complete the first level, which unlocks all the levels, then climb up the tower to the door with the rubber duck on it. That's your first opportunity for bathtime fun.

I'm not sure what I love most about this video. Another appearance of Chair, Luke's Les Mis reference, Andy hiding Luke's Switch in the fridge, or Ellen's OnionKnight shirt logo. Hmm, no, I do know.
I LOVED those puzzles! My 8th grade English teacher would give those to us whenever we finished lessons early; they were the best part of the day.
Had to actually solve a logic puzzle for an escape room. Made it particularly harrowing since it was a solo run. (Did the room solo.)
This is why I studied maths at uni.

Wow, that's similar to what my grade 5 teacher did! He posted one on the back wall on Monday and we could try to solve it. Anyone who did could put their name on a special slip of paper and into a box. One would be randomly drawn on Friday- the winner got a donut. .....I ate a lot of donuts in grade 5..... lol (Not many classmates were into trying, but I absolutely _loved_ those puzzles. I am never without a digital version on my phone for killing time!)
Iirc that same teacher gave me a logic puzzle book to work on for when I finished my work early- so even more similar to your experience. Sounds like we both had cool teachers! 😁

I learned how to literally scale any wall in that game which made the rest of the game trivial.

In MGS Snake Eater, just snipe The End when you spot him in the warehouse. in Far Cry4, just wait for Pagan Min to get back to the dining hall to finish the game right from the start.
The ending where you become friends with Pagan is probably the best one really
It's not a total skip, but the fear is made an awful lot easier by shooting all the poison frogs around the area

@@marhawkman303 yeah! With his stealth suit hurting his stamina, he'll look for food when it's, but if there's already food there, he'll take that instead. If he eats poison frogs (or any other poisonous or rotten food, using poison frogs as an example as they're in the arena), it heavily damages his stamina & keeps him on the ground a little while longer as he pukes his guts up so you can damage him more

I solved the logic puzzle from Dishonored2 cuz I was sure that is what they meant you to do. Quite a change from the Skyrim "puzzles" that consisted of writing the 3 character code on the wall next to the lock.
I remember spending far too long brute forcing the Bleak Falls Barrow lock only to realise later that the answer was on the bottom of the claw the whole time.

If you play Assault on the Control Room normally, and are a quick shot, you can kill the Elite and steal that second Banshee.
Further, you can actually leap off of the bridge, aiming for the slanted sliver walls below, and survive the fall.
There's actually another banshee you can get before that, in the open area where you take the scorpion and there's a wraith all the way in the back above the tunnel leading underground. If you don't go too far into the area, before triggering the banshee, you can actually use a rocket launcher on the bottom of a platform above you to knock off the banshee. It's not easy getting the right spot, but it's worth it.
i vaguely remember there being a trick in Ultima: The Black Gate that allowed you to skip the entire game. You could walk into a fireplace or something in the first town and be immediately taken to the final scene.
Yes by stacking and building a stairway up to the roof of the abandoned blacksmith.
Enter the chimney and you enter a cheat room full of goodies.
After that is a room full of teleporters to different important places in the game.
I think its a debug room for the developers but im not sure why they left it in.
You can skip most of Blighttown in Dark Souls by performing a plunging downward attack, bounce off a wall when falling, and then buffering a roll before you hit the ground.
It literally skips the entire thing and now you just have to walk to the bonfire at the bottom.
You can also skip most of Blighttown and all of the Depths by going through Darkroot Garden and Valley of the Drakes. A useful trick when you just don't want to fight the Capra Demon and two dogs in a broom closet.
Sounds about as manageable as the rest of dark souls 😂
Think the first level skip I remember finding on my own is the level in Portal where you can skip half of it by waiting for some stairs to collapse, dropping a portal, and using it to jump on an elevated platform.
I don't want to ruin your smugness Ellen but I used maths to work out the lock only has 120 different combinations making it the worst combination lock in history and you have seen how quick you can change the tumblers, if you change one every second it will take 2 minutes to cover every possible combination, It took me 28 seconds to brute force it ( footage on my page ) after 10 minutes of frying my brain trying to work out the puzzle. It actually took 8 seconds to beat as that's when I heard the click but was moving the tumblers so fast I had to back track the last few rotations slowly to find it
I did not know the order didnt matter.
This infuriates me, because it doesn't make sense for it not to matte, because I thought it did and solved it accordingly and because I don't see how that could possibly have been any more difficult to code into the game.
@@kybett I did work out the time it would take if the order mattered but cant remember, think it was about 10-15 minutes at 1 second per change, it would be still quicker than trying to solve it, but well done for doing it the correct way
@@NoBullOxGaming I don't think that's the case. If order matters, then it's (5*4*3*2*1) for the women times by (5*4*3*2*1) again for the heirlooms which is 14400 combinations. At 1 change per second that's 4 hours.
Which... is still quicker than doing the Dust District if you're going for stealth pacifist and are obsessed with exploring every nook and cranny of each level.

You can skip the entire second area of Wolfskull Cave in "The Man Who Cried Wolf" in Skyrim just by firing arrows from stealth at the tower where the ritual is taking place from the ledge where you enter. The necromancers and their draugr servants aren't programmed correctly to recognize each other as allies. Just lure them near each other and the ritual mages will get slaughtered and you can just leave.
I couldn't remember if I got the Jindosh lock achievement or not, so I went to check my Steam stats.... I do have it, but I also noticed that the Eureka achievement is more common than Clean Hands. That might say something about PC players.
We PC players are a sadistic bunch... *quickly hides all the bodies of the Roller Coaster Tycoon guests I drowned*
In The Binding of Isaac games, you can move on to the next level by falling through a hole in the floor. What could be easier?
this made me simultaneously laugh and cry. this is not a joke. I am in severe pain from my 1000s of hours on that game.
In Gauntlet II if you stand still for long enough all the doors open. Stand still for longer and all the walls turn into exits.

something I found when playing sundered is not 1 but 2 skips.
the first one allows you to skip the entire third area using the corrupted air dash ability to go straight up at the elevator that the area is based around (it needs to be here because other places in the level have a clout that kills you) then when you run out of stamina bars you just spam the glide button from the corrupted double jump and you will be able to regain stamina so that you can use the corrupted air dash again to skip some of the most annoying places in the entire game. This works because hitting glide stops all your momentum and those brief moments between when you are gliding allow you to regen stamina fast enough to gain altitude.
the second skip allows you to go to an area in the second area that wants you to have the grapple ability without the grapple ability by simply jumping, hitting one of the many flying enemies, then jumping again because hitting an enemy midair allows you to use double jump again. This allows you to beat that entire area without actually getting the ability that it is designed for.
In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided you can skip the boss fight at the end of the harvester side mission. When you get to the room Daria is being "held captive" in just shoot through the bars of the gate with the weapon of your choice before opening it. Then, you can just walk in and search her dead/unconscious body for the evidence you need to end the level.
I mean, you're not wrong, but that's bad ending to the missionary
@@connortheandroidsentbycybe7740 I did that and still got the good ending. I think it helps if you already went to the drug store and the pharmacist told you she was the killer.
Seeing Mister John Halo himself is always a nice surprise from OX!
In Halo, the previous level shown here, at the beginning, I used to jump off a cliff and if I did it right, was able to get to the bottom without dying. Took a lot of damage but skipped so much
Duke nukem. You can also save your jetpack for the tower level to skip the whole tower and jetpack up to the finish right from the start

In broforce you can skip one of the alien levels by destroying the ground above you and literally just walking above the entire level

Gotta say, when I saw Dishonored 2, I was not expecting to see the Jindosh riddle. I was thinking more about how you can skip pretty much the entire clockwork mansion.

Sonic Adventure 2: when you're riding the rails through the space station there's one part where you can jump down to a section of rail below you and skip a good chunk of the map.
The most statifisating way to do the Dishonored 2 lock puzzle is what happened to me, for the door to open when you're reseting the lock to only have one of each hierloom and woman before actually looking at the puzzle to try to solve it. Free achievement!

I like the dark souls skip where you fall in a specific spot and skip the entirety of the catacombs, skeletons and all. What's surprising to me is how easy the skip is to do. This isn't some super speedrun strat.
Ellen's sass is on 10 this episode and I'm there for it.
When I saw Dishonored I assumed the skip would be pulling a Mike and pistol sniping them from across the map : )

What about in AC:revelations when you had to walk through a wall to get that “impress Warren Vidic” achievement
That trick would get you the achievement once you reached the ceiling final room but you can't actually enter the room and go through the exit so it's not really a level skip

In Halo 2, you can skit almost the entire outskirts level by roof hopping then flying past everything in a ghost straight to the following bridge level. Whole thing takes like 6 minutes instead of hour, hour plus!
Jindosh Lock is so ridiculously easy for a LOCK, I love it. You don't need sudoku grid, just draw a table and place them according to the riddle. I'd say it actually does save you a few hours and lungs full of dust!

Edit: i know in Human Fall Flat you can somewhat “climb” by swinging left and right and then letting go with one hand and grabbing again

I really like logic puzzles, and I wish there was a way I could work on one of the versions the Dishonored 2 one in a way that checks itself without me finding guides to solve it.
I love those puzzles, too! I always have at least one logic problem game app on my devices for killing time. Great way to while my insomnia-ridden nights away. Lol Really, though, they're great fun! 😄
I'm (lowkey) surprised there was no Fallout 3 as you can skip the majority of the game (aka running errands for a bunch of NPC) if you know where to find your dad.
You mentioned Oblivion a few times during the Two Worlds segment, but did you know that like Two Worlds, you can skip to the end of Oblivion's main quest right after leaving the tutorial dungeon? Well, first you will need to quickly search around some of the crates sitting around town, and perhaps a few shops or residences, and collect some paint brushes. Bethesda forgot to give paintbrushes physics like other items, so when you open your menu and drop a paint brush it will hover in the air wherever your cursor was pointed until you pick it back up. It is also considered a solid object, so you can jump on top of it and use it as a platform. From there you can drop another and build a staircase of paint brushes to get places you're not supposed to.
So, fresh out of the tutorial dungeon with pilfered paintbrushes in hand, walk or fast travel to the Imperial City Temple District. Then use your paintbrushes to build a staircase up to the top of the Temple of the One. Try to jump onto the roof and you will clip through the building as they didn't put any collision up there because they didn't expect anyone to get up there. Inside of the temple model you can freely move around, and behind the door leading inside is a second door that will take you to an instance of the temple from the final quest. Go inside, and the game now thinks you're in the endgame. Step outside and you will see that the city is now under siege by the forces of Oblivion. Run ahead a few feet and your quest journal will update to reflect that you are at the end of the main quest and need to talk to Martin Septim, but he's still all the way over in Kvatch. Go back inside the temple and rest/wait for ~13 hours, after which Martin will have made his way to the temple. Talk to him, and enjoy the ending cutscene.
TL;DR: Exit tutorial. Acquire some paintbrushes. Drop them to make a staircase to the top of the temple. Clip through the roof and enter the door hidden behind the main one. Game thinks you're in the battle for the Imperial City. Step outside to activate the final quest. Go back inside the temple and use the wait command to skip ahead 12 hours until Martin reaches you. Talk to Martin to trigger the ending.
In Tarzan on the PS1 (dated, I know) there was a hidden option underneath the last item on the main menu. It was essentially a level selection menu!

GTA V: The Ballad of Rocco
normally you have to chase Rocco down in this "epic" car chase scene that likely involves you crashing into something
or instead, if you're quick enough, you can just pull out a ranged weapon and eliminate as he's driving away Rocco right at the start.
Easily completed in 2 or so seconds
the best part with that level in halo if you play with friend and he flys into the last door while you opening it, then the banshee flys over the cut scene master chief killing him and the cutscene proceeds with him dead on the ground.
I did the Jindosh riddle too! I didn't use a chart. Just a piece of notebook paper and colored pens. I was very excited with it. (I actually did the riddle first, then did the rest of the level. I love dishonored and didn't want to actually skip. But I also love logic puzzles.)
What about Myst? You can skip the entire game if you know to put the page back in the 3rd book
I tried to do that Jindosh Lock puzzle for a solid half hour...and was soundly defeated. Not my finest (half)hour.
In the original Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn mission 6 of the GDI campaign you have to destroy one enemy production facility and which ever facility you destroy, it will still be destroyed in mission 7. Mission 7 wants you to destroy the airstrip, since your orders for mission 6 were not quite correct. So, if you destroyed the airstrip in mission 6, there is no need for mission 7.
There are a bunch of back doors to dungeons in Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Elder Scrolls Skyrim. The one I always remember is the Dark brotherhood quest from Oblivion where Lucian Lechance summons you to his dungeon, filled with traps and monsters, but the unlocked exit is just on the other side of the ruins in a tree stump, and Lechance is right inside waiting to congratulate you on making it through the traps.
Wow, i never knew about the Hat in Time skip. Although i do feel like Queen Vanessa's Manor was one of the most fun experiences in the game, and more fun than Alien: Isolation, so im fine with it.
Ok Remnant: From the Ashes, you can skip Corsus, the third world, by attacking the Undying King. It's a hell of a fight but you get the key for Yaesha, the fourth world, by killing him.
The best part of the Jindosh lock is that the position of the names always match up to the positions of the heirlooms at the bottom of the puzzle, so as you read through, you can just match the names in order of 3rd item, 4th item, told, 1st item, 2nd item
Yogscast member Boba accidentally found a new skip in the original Metal Gear Solid during a casual stream. This skip, now dubbed "The Boba Skip" by speedrunners, involves either being shot or letting a chaff grenade blow up in your hand whilst next to the frozen door in Communication Tower A.

Option 1: keep turning until complete - (reward) = insanity.
Option 2: Work out code, and unlock - (reward) = insanity/smugness
Option 3: put game on shelf and cry, knowing you have Dishonored your family.
In the anime inspired Monolith first person mecha game Shogo: Mobile Armored Division there's a part where a woman refuses to let you through an electric fence and demands you go fetch her cat from a nearby warehouse, which involves scouring it for the cat's favourite toy and using that toy to lure the cat out all the while fighting off an army of goons and thugs.
Or, hear me out, shoot her and her husband, turn off the electric fence your self and move on with the game.
Surely 90٪ of the ppl chose that option, npc murder is not exactly high level logic conundrum.
@@hell3quin864 Possibly, but the game gives you the opportunity to use weapons on NPC's earlier while you're on the ship before you're sent down to Avernus, and punishs you by turning all npc's hostile and locking you out of progress. So the game sets the precedent that you could shoot NPCs, but then immediately kicks you for doing it. I know I didn't even think to try shooting at them until my fourth or so play through, assuming that the game would shut me off if I tried it.
Kind of shocked no one ever mentioned the DKC warps in Minecart Carnage or Stop & Go Station. The minecart one is super easy to accidentally get by slightly overshooting the jump to the first barrel (Which lands you in a second, hidden barrel that fires you to the end of the stage).
Stop & Go Station is even easier as you just literally turn around and go back through the entrance to warp to the end of the stage. You quite literally enter the stage, go "Nah" and then warp to the end.
In Halo on the fourth level The Silent Cartographer, I remember there was a section where you go down a covenant base and get stopped by an elite who shuts a door in your face and forces you to go across the map to unlock it. I found out that you can skip it if you drive the warthog down the hallways and ram it through the door right before it closes and the game will just act like you did the whole unlock it section and move on.
I was so proud of it because I was like 10 or 12 and was playing super late on my Xbox
