In this video, Saqar Ahhah and Den Tut Rayay, both Black Americans, delve into the topic of Liberia as a potential destination for African Americans looking to resettle. They provide insightful perspectives on the historical background of Liberia, which was founded by freed Black Americans and Afro-Caribbeans in the 1800s.
The video discusses the unique opportunities that Liberia offers, such as the ability to reconnect with African culture and heritage, as well as the potential for economic and business growth. Ahhah and Rayay share their personal experiences visiting and living in Liberia, highlighting the welcoming nature of the Liberian people and the sense of community that exists within the country.
Overall, this video serves as a short informative and thought-provoking exploration of Liberia as a potential destination for African Americans seeking a new home and a deeper connection to their roots.

Would it be difficult for African Americans to become citizens? It’s unfortunate we can invest but not truly own land if we want. I’m looking to move in Africa and considering Liberia especially because of the history. We all will meet some days and discuss the foundation of Liberia. A land that was existed, occupied, and set up by the indigenous with an organized and peaceful leadership can't be founded for the second time. Or discover by free slaves who was once taken away and brought back to their same location after many years.

To say that Liberia was founded by freed African American slaves is akin to saying that Christopher Columbus discovered America. Liberia may have been named after the AAs arrived but indigenous Africans lived in that land for thousands of years before they arrived. A simple google search told me the following "The Gola and Kissi, who also live in Sierra Leone, are known to be the oldest inhabitants of Liberia. The Gola and Kissi belong to a third linguistic group known as the Mel group (West/Southern Atlantic). These groups live in the north and in the coastal region of the northwest."

Liberia was not founded by American Liberians. There were people living on the land. It is like you saying Europeans/ British founded Australia , when people were already living there. If you go to Liberia with this mindset, you will just be making fools out of yourselves because Liberians are not the Liberians that your forefathers oppressed years ago. Maybe if I use this word, you will understand because you suffered the same as African Americans in America. . Let's put it in this prospective, were African Americans allowed to vote? Own lands or were they part of the decision making? laws that concerning them? A big NO, this is what happened to the native Liberians in Liberia. It was about power. Who had the power during those periods of time. People in comment session talking about the constitutions, you go and do more research too. Liberia was not founded by American Liberians or African Americans. You are welcome to Liberia but stop saying, the country was founded by African Americans.

@God-Star ⭐️🪐 you are bitter for no reason. Liberia original name was Grain Coast before the American Liberians came to settle. What about that ? I never said I was stopping anyone from going to the country. Our history was changed, and it is time we educate people like you. No one had ever denied you your oppression in America, and you can't teach me my experience in Liberia. In West Africa, we have Gold Coast, Ivory Coast, and Grain Coast, which is now called Liberia. I believe in integration and change, and this is who I am, and I stay on my word that Liberia was renamed from Grain Coast to Liberia. Welcome home, Liberia is a country to all.

Point of correction brothers, Liberia was NEVER founded by African Americans or any body. The natives were already there. The ship Elizabeth dropped off the returned slaves on Providence Island in Monrovia in 1822 in December. Matilda Newport had to shoot a cannon to scare the indigenous for the ship to dock for the blacks to get off . They had some fight for that ship to even dock. And another point of correction, Liberia and Ethiopia where NEVER colonized. Those returnees at that time were called the congor people. And those returnees where taken into slavery from different parts of the continent. They were NOT actually from Liberia. They were the ones that took over some political positions because some could read and write. And that's how they came to power. The natives who are the real indigenous were side lined for years before the late Samuel k. Doe , a native took over by a military coup in 19 80. Those in the comment section here that are excepting your comments about your founded Liberia , are naive . They need to go back to school and learn their history properly. Everybody wants to be on social media . These types of conversations are sensitive , they are not for half educated people to come and make comments.
