    Big fan of your videos. I like the way you present the fragrances. Soothing voice as well. Btw I’ve always felt the same about Amouage.

    Love to hear your commentary! Damir Doma is a name I haven't heard in a long time. Pleasantly surprised to hear Yann Vasnier doing an all natural. A perfumer told me alot of the juniors that are trained in France (he declined to say where specifically) have been pushed to use mostly aromachemicals and work around tight budgets...so much so they don't have alot of experience working with the expensive naturals. I vaguely remember SunSong from LV, I want to give the brand another try but there's just too much perfume to visit within a single window shopping trip that I just forget about LV LOL. I am not too impressed with the quality of Amouage currently. Those attar bottles do not look luxurious and for something thats supposedly precious, I see so much stock at my Amouage boutique. A bit disappointed to hear the mechanism isn't great either.
    Also I love seeing the older bottles in this video. A fantastic nostalgia trip. CDG was a brand I wished I explored more off.
    I have mixed feelings about sample packs, but the Parfums d'Empire one was one of my best purchases and a good and thorough sampling experience. You will also get a feel for his style. I want to say Ruade does feel a bit different...although I can't pinpoint why. Maybe it lacks certain accords which are repeated in his other creations. Funnily enough I thought Ruade exists in the same universe as Chanel's Cuir de Russia and Naomi Goodsir's Corpus Equus. They have that same balsamic leather quality to my nose.

      @@gunmetal2445 aha I'm not alone in remembering Damir! The all natural patchouli vibe of this fragrance is a good match for his aesthetic. LV really are underwhelming and I've decided not really worth my time anymore. But last summer I was going through a thing were I was just determined to get one of their freshies. 😂
      Agree that I'd probably find a Parfum d'Empire discovery set rewarding, I've tried several but he has such a large catalog the list of ones I still want to try is pretty long. Also agree Ruade has a different feel than the others, in a good way for me.

    Great Vid. Love hearing the thought process and seeing the one offs!
    Just was in Aaedes yesterday to sample the line and get myself a present. Left empty handed. I find the shopping experience in there not very enjoyable.
    I’ve got 5 of those Amouage attars. 3 of the rubber ring stoppers fell in too! Plucked it out with a tweezer. Did you try Orris Wakkan? A surprise love for me. Distant cousin to Chanel 19. (That mall with the Amouage is insane. Attached to a water park? I made a trip out there. I can’t image that luxe wing of the water park making it. Was very strange.)

      @@orosz4001 Yea the vibe at Aedes is weird, Scent bar has a similar setup yet feels so much more inviting. I actually went to that water park last time I went haha! And that is why I did not take Incense Rori with me on that visit to make the Amouage people open it for me. I did try the orris once at bergdorf and I remember being impressed by the opening but don't remember much about it after that.

    Been considering Ruade for a while... No good prices around here though, so we'll see.
    Enjoy the videos, keep 'em coming!

    I agree on the sample packs. the only time I find them helpful is investigating the tiny indie brands where not much content is out there at all. for the 'bigger' brands, usually if I just listen to the noses out there with taste that is similar to mine I'm usually ahead in the money department. yes I save on the ~100 discovery kit but then also if I buy the sample pack, I find myself buying the 'just ok' stuff because initially they bowl me over, but then the novelty wears off.

    What perfumes would you say are masterpieces? And would you mind recommending some beautiful fragrances for women, unisex or feminine leaning I don’t mind thank you so much !

    • @cheapimitation2242
      @cheapimitation2242  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thewindsinger7687 I hesitate to call anything a masterpiece as it's either so obvious as to be trite (Chanel No. 5) or just a hyperbolic way of saying "I really like it." I suppose some modern masterpieces would be Portrait of a Lady and Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle. Chanel No. 5, No. 19, Cuir de Russie and Coromandel. These all happen to be marketed as feminine, so that answers your second question as well. But I would shop by category rather than gender depending on what you like. I assume not every woman wants to smell like flowers and not every man likes woods, so it's hard to make recommendations on gender alone.
      If I was to recommend something off the cuff with no context, I'd say Bel Respiro from Chanel.
