I haven't seen Congo in forever. I saw it in the theater and had it on dvd. Never picked it up on blu. I even had the figures from Kenner back in the day! 🙂
Congo is a fun movie. It’s not an Oscar contender. It’s not a terrible movie like people wanna say it is. It’s just an entertaining adventure film. The performances from Ernie Hudson, Tim Curry, and Laura Linney are great. The gorilla suits are cool. There’s definitely some silly shit in the film, but that just adds to the charm of it. 🤘🏻
I bought the Congo 4kand thought it looked great. Didn't really notice any issues. This is still a favorite of mine even if the movie is just fine. I do think the images on the box were a little too dark though.
I watched this on Amazon. I mean it was ok, but don't think 🤔 it's worth $50. This should be a $20 buy. I did really enjoy seeing all the stars in the movie.👍😎
This movie has killer gorillas with lasers. It has Bruce Campbell and Tim Curry cheesing out. I loved it as a kid even tho I always knew it wasn't exactly "good". I'm excited to get this but I was never gonna buy the boxset for $40+. I'll just wait for a sale of the standard 4K for $20 instead.
I recall watching this when it came out and being dumbfounded at how bad it was, so tonally off from it's intentions. But this was before I had a palette to appreciate the finer things in life; the rarity of a bizarre film that misses the mark and still manages to be fun. I've made fun of this movie for years but it's been over 20 yrs since I've seen it, so the time has come for me to see with these eyes of a bad movie veteran! I get why VS put this out but boy is it a hard sell.
I’m just looking forward to nightmare on elm street box set uncut versions coming this summer Do you know if there will be blu rays in the 4ks box set and will they be uncut too
@ I just want the movies on blu ray I don’t have a 4K tv I mean like toxic avenger box set collection they have it in 4ks and on blu ray the same movie on 2 disks for 4 movies on 8 disks
Saw Congo in the theater with a bunch of friends. It was a decent popcorn flick. No one walked out thinking it was terrible. Had the same LD back in the day, but haven’t seen the movie in over 25 years. $50 for the 4k?? That’s an easy pass…
I was travelling around the US in the summer of 95 and I watched a lot of movies in theaters, Apollo13, Crimson Tide, Die Hard3 etc. A friend of mine said Congo was good so I paid my $4 or so and I thought, Jeez this film sucked!
I was already a Bruce Campbell fan when Congo was released in theaters. The beginning of the film crushed those hopes. Then we get to see his dead body later in the film. I definitely wasn't a fan of Congo after the bait and switch. There are certainly movies that I'm guilty of loving for their nostalgia. We wouldn't be movie fans if there wasn't a whole section of our collections most people consider terrible films.

I love Congo, remember seeing it in Theaters as a Kid, Still holds up today!

I think Congo still holds up. I only have it on DVD, but still absolutely love it.

I remember renting this/loving it as a 5th grader circa 1995...with all its faults, it was still an adventure for a kid with a hyper imagination 😅
Having also seen Jurassic Park opening day...I knew this didn't hold a candle, even as a 10 year old

Yeah I highly doubt they will give you BR plus 4k discs will probably be one disc a movie hopefully and not 2 films on one disc.
