    Yet another excellent video. I reckon if I keep watching your stuff it won't be too long before I know exactly how to totally disassemble a 997 in my garage! Thanks so much for doing these.

      Hey just curious what kind of errors you are having with your car. Is it a canbus error that you are getting? If you replace the gateway does it have to be reprogrammed thru a Porsche dealer or pwis system or will the car self program?

    Great video, thanks. I was just thinking if I could replace mine! You can buy a new one for $130 from Pelican. Probably worth replacing instead of painting or trying to re-finish.

      Yes your probably right. The sheen is a bit different than factory but I can tell you, it will not fade again. Mine has still looks like it did the day I applied the plastic refinisher.

      I just bought a new replacement cowl for my 997.1 from FCP Euro, who had the current best price I could find, and these parts a no longer as cheap as when this video was made. Current prices range $185-225 plus more the 2 plastic covers (~$25 for the pair) . Might actually be worth doing the refinishing work for some. I chose to buy a new one as the rubber seal that runs along the bottom of the windshield had begun to lift and disintegrate which allowed debris to get into the frunk area. Nice video. Thank you!

    Hi, have you undertaken the cowl surface treatment?

    • @didifixthat7910
      @didifixthat7910  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I have. Please watch another one of my videos where I take on that project. Still looks like new and it’s been at least 6 months.

      @@didifixthat7910 I did not look thoroughly enough. Thank you for replying so quickly. I have bought that product from the UK distributor. Twice the price that you paid but far cheaper than buying a new one. I have a 987.2 S. I think I will be learning a lot from you. Regards, David.

      I’m sure you will find that the product goes on very smoothly. Check out my other video on removing the front bumper. Take out all the plastic pieces from the bumper and treat them to a refurbishment, makes the whole car look like new. Good luck.

    why didnt you just clean it as it is on the car?

    • @didifixthat7910
      @didifixthat7910  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. It was clean but faded. I used a plastic resurfacer to make it look like new. Did it over a year ago and it still looks great. Watch the video on how I did it plus the follow up video. It’s good stuff.

    Pop them up and they just pop off…. Not in my world, it’s like they are both welded on. I’m soaking them in pb blaster right now

    • @didifixthat7910
      @didifixthat7910  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t give up the fight. Hopefully the PB Blaster will loosen up whatever is keeping them adhered. Good luck brother.
