Looking great. Very happy to see you using OEM parts and modifications that the factory would have made vs slapping on a cheap aftermarket body kit. Can’t wait to see it rip
What generation to get really comes down to what you want out of the car. Old air cooled for the lightweight, analog, raw driving experience. 996 turbo for the lightest liquid cooled option. It's also capable of a rwd conversion with ease. Has the fried egg headlights...some people love them and others hate them. It's the cheapest turbo available right now and will only go up in value. One of the worst interiors though. Anything more than an exhaust and tune with a manual requires an upgraded clutch. Coolant lines need pinned but all of them but 1 can be done with the engine in the car. With the auto a tcu tune makes a drastic improvement. With just bolt ons and tuning you can run low 10s. If you do track days you will want Freddy Lewis brake upgrades. And the mezger engine will run hundreds of thousands of miles. 700-800hp on the stock bottom end. Active aero rear wing fails. Can go solid mount or eram. 997.1 turbo also has the mezger engine. Needs Coolant lines pinned and sharkwerks elbows requiring an engine drop. Same as the 996 for the transmission and clutch. Rwd conversion has never been done to the same level as the 996 due to the wheel speed sensors. Much better interior. Traditional headlights. Wider hips. Still has hydraulic steering. Same wing issue as the 996. 997.2 gets the 9a1 engine and pdk. 1st gen pdk has issues. 9a1 has a stronger stock bottom end than the mezger. Wing issue still. No Coolant line issue though. No rwd conversion. 991 turbo has electric steering and is physically larger by a noticeable amount. 2nd gen pdk is Stout. Can make nearly 1000hp with bolt ons and tuning. Updated interior. If you want the best drivers car the 996 turbo with weight reduction and rwd conversion is the way to go. If you want the traditional 911 look, analog feel, and nicer interior get the 997.1 turbo. If you want raw speed potential and luxury get the 991 turbo.
@@sutherlacd27 So you know a little about these cars? LOL The only thing worse to me than the fried egg headlights, are the skins people put on them to make them look round. haha. Thanks for all that info.

Your Porsche is a WAY WAY better example than mine.... Cuz it's non existent 🤣. Keep the awesome content coming guys. Y'all really make us (the audience) feel like we are a part of the fun as much as is possible through film. Very much appreciated!
I thought on the 997 only cup car fenders required cutting… the gt2 rs ones are supposed to be double sided tape on and you’re out. I need to check rennlist again Also, on the front a 275/30/19 would have matched the stock 235/35/19 but depending on the offset of the wheel you still might have issues. I’m running a 19x10 et42 on my front with a 265/30/19 with about two millimeters of space between the tire and coilover. Might as well make that bumper vent functional with the proper ducting 👌🏾
@RayBen555 I'd focus more on the weight reduction, suspension, and power output than the cooling/appearance beyond what they've already done. I removed the hydraulics for the rear wing and went solid mount wing, lighter and wider wheels, rear seat delete, and bare bones exhaust for my weight reduction so far. I plan on getting some corbeau seats next to replace my adaptive sport seats. Will save me 50-75lbs.
Love the build and the video. Also the direction you are going with the Poorsh mods. That said the carbon fiber side ducts and mirrors sort of get lost in the black paint so I agree I sort of like the split ones better.
Love the wheels! I also run these on my 997.1tt but I like an easy life so went with 19x9” with 245 ps4s on the front 😊 I looked at wider tyres and I read that the 997.2 has a different fender liner which gives more clearance.
The part near the end when you show it on the trailer an you see the view of the tyres proper wide on the rear looks sik af 👌 going to look mint when its done new subcriber great vids ✌❤🇬🇧
The very first mod I made to my 964 was to fit a strut brace. Good choice of Coil Overs, but not totally convinced with the tyres choice. There is a reason why Porsche spend millions testing and recommending tyres.
BTW you can make your own gt2 side ducts out of the turbo ducts. I'm doing it over the winter. Got 2 turbo ducts for $100. Cut out the center section and sanded them down. Ordered some resin I'm going to use to fill in the gaps. Then sand and paint. I'll sell my turbo ducts in my car currently to get my $100 back
I’m loving it Lee!! Only thing is it looked a little 4x4 but maybe the fender flares will close the gap a bit. Or I’m sure you can lower bit via the coilovers.

Watch out when changing wheel/tire sizes, it'll upset the AWD system and might overheat
