The best part of that clip was Granddad. "Well I'd have to think twice"
Paul Stratford Granddad was such a great character. Love the episode where Del told him to go and get Denzil's budgies' dental records!
+Paul Stratford The best part was Del when he says never been nothing like that in are family lol I still sometimes say that lol
great timing
+Paul Stratford The great Leonard Pearce! He was hilarious as granddad.
+delboyengland If there was anything like that in my family, i would be like Del, up all night with heartburn. 😊
"Well I'd have to think twice"
RIP Grandad
+Netjak killer line that
+Netjak Long Live Grandad....he used to really rip in Rodney lol
+Prashant Vallabhbhai ino lol just gonna say the same. grandad rips Rodney to pieces lll
I heard he just came up with that line on the spot and they kept it in because it was so good
carlo donofrio I think I read it in a TH-cam comment, idk
When Grandad says "Well I'll have to think twice" what a line that is. Always has me in absolute stitches
Grandad was a legend
vacantplanet omo
I reckon he was funnier than Albert. There was definitely more depth to his humour.
Especially given it wasn't even in the script! Lennard Pearce just came out with it and everyone cracked up so badly that they had to stop filming for a bit. The very next bit when you see Del and Grandad creasing themselves is totally genuine - that is actually David Jason losing it.
Dean Jeffery What was the Wendy house joke, have you got a link to the clip
yes he was,but Uncle Albert was even better in my opinion.
"Rodney : I've got bit of a problem
Del : I don't wanna know I don't wanna know, I'd rather die in ignorance" 😂 😂
this is a very ignorant comment about hiv
@@paulhunter123 Yes that's right. The commercial. People who weren't around at that time would have no clue.
@@paulhunter123 lol
@@junglebrov What do you mean? What commercial? Do you care to explain? Tks
@@VelhaGuardaTricolor An advert around the time this was made used the slogan "don't die of ignorance"
"Well I'd have to think twice." Love Grandad!
One of the funniest quotes in comedy
I don't understand the I'd have to think twice
@@TwoAwesomeKids34 Not sure if you mean that or not but anyway, the "....have to think twice" line alludes to Rodney's love interest maybe even being too old for Granddad being that she is 40, although he is not exactly in the prime of life himself.
Dead🤣
Got to be the funniest line ever
I just watched this after 10 years and I just cried and cried with laughter, the facial expressions, the timing, the writing, the reactions, it's just beyond perfect
you can't go beyond perfect 😉🤐

I know yeah that is very true or a curry.
haha same here or a bacon sarnie
danny eyes Ha ha that’s so true. That or a Bernie Inn!
I’m so glad somebody said it.
Yes depending on the episode either a fry up or a curry and beer or a Chinese take away and beer
Sitcoms today are nothing compared to this classic.
It was. more influential comedy
+MrGremlin. This series also took its lead from the Will Hay films, with Moffatt and Marriott playing the young and old. If you've seen the films 'Oh, Mr. Porter!', 'Ask a Policeman', 'Where's That Fire?' etc., you'll see how it's the same kind of mix.
+homer blair looooooooooooooooooooooooool, no chance.
John Sullivan was a genius when he created OFAH. There'll never be another
tbh you wouldn't even get away with these jokes anymore. The golden age has well and truly gone
grandad kills it at the end
"WEll, I'd have to think twice!" killed me!!!!
"Don't you ever do that to me again Rodney i'll be up all night with heartburn" 😂😂😂😂
In a deleted scene Del was up all night in the bathroom with extremely bad heartburn, sweating and everything.
th-cam.com/video/o2XN4HUPWcQ/w-d-xo.html
Or a Connery!
David Jason the master at multitasking acting!
"Who was that Rodney?"
"Oh err...Mickey Pearce"
I died laughing.
they don't make comedies like this anymore
prachtig xxxx
No, they TRY to make comedies, but something like this would never be made again!
okay, thanks :-)
+alo alo ... is it subtitled?
I'm American and lived in England for a while. In America, the only classic brit television is Monty Python, Benny Hill, and whatever subpar Brit program from the 70's our local PBS airs. However, no one knows about this show. Best classic of them all.
probably because it connects much more to european audiences
Del laughing at Rodney after saying he wouldn't gets me every time
There will never be a comedy as good as this again.
Grandads line at the end absolutely kills it! 😂🤣🤣
Absolutely, one of his finest moments.Maybe his best line ever.
@@glenncambray626 i like Grandad better than Albert.
so do i.
I'm Chilean and my husband is from England and he showed me this comedy program and I love it! They are so funny, love the British comedy 👏👏👏👏👏

Topgun God You don’t have to have an English surname to be English, I don’t but me and my family are as English as anything.
" Well i'd av to think twice" LOL still gets me everytime.
The best bit was Delboy saying "never been nothing like that in are family " looool.
true mate lol
If there was, he'd be up all night with heartburn.
Del's laugh is absolutely hilarious!!!
Grandads reaction cracks me up every time.
In my opinion they have never miscast anyone in fools and horses, When the great Leonard Fenton died, they cast Buster Merryfield and he fitted in really well as their uncle.
When they decided to introduce love interests for Del and Rodney the brought in Tessa and Gwyneth and again they fitted right in, It really was one of those shows that just clicked with everything they did.
*Lennard Pearce
It's funny you should say that because David Jason (White) was 3rd choice for Del boy. Even when he was picked some people weren't happy about it, because he wasn't really wanted. And look how well he done! It's the guys most memorable character.
Liam Berry You're right, John Sullivan actually wanted the actor who went on to play Slater, it was one of the producers Ray Butts I think who saw a re-run of Open All Hours and convinced John that David was right for the part.
Some how I couldn't see Jim Broadbent as Del Boy.
It's funny you should mention about David not wanted by those upstairs when he was eventually picked maybe because he wasn't the luvvy type of actor.
Alba Productions
So glad he got the part in the end though hey :)
Liam Berry Only one Del Boy, David is a very good actor I've enjoyed everything he has been in.
"Promise me you wont laugh"
"No course i wont"
"I think i'm in love".
Starts laughing. Ha ha classic😀

+Jake Qwertzz You will never ever get another Comedy sitcom like this again. Mrs Browns boys and Not Going out are good, but IMO they will never beat OFAH.
+Rory Mckernan yes my fav clasic show, cant be repetaed
+Jake Qwertzz Dead Right mate.
The facial expressions defo take the spotlight here. Like when Rodney says, “There's people 'ere”, Del and Grandad's faces are hilarious. When Rodney jokes about talking to Mickey Pearce, Del's face is priceless, and when Rodney says Irene is 40, is the cherry on top. 😂😂😂 Such talented actors.
"Well I'd have to think twice!" Oh granddad. Killed it!!!
I always get hungry watching Del Boy eat, great series.
Lol, yeah it's like his 'signature' isn't it. He does it in everything even in episodes of 'Frost'.
dave wilkinson yes in cash and curry episode and the stage fright episode he makes the food look delicious
Me too 😃
Rodney to Del " promise you won't laugh"
Del " I promise"
Rodney " I think am in love"
Del bursts out laughing 🤣🤣
This scene is one of many that can only be described as 'perfection'.
"I don't wanna know I don't wanna know - I'd rather die in ignorance" lol.
“Promise me you won’t laugh?”
“No course I won’t!”
“I think I’m in love”
“PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
Brilliant! 😂
"i don't wanna know",😅😅😅 uvek su bili i ostace popularni u Srbiji,we love only fools and horses
The look on Del's face when Rodney says Mickey pearce, priceless
Arguably Granddad’s most iconic line: “Well I’d have to think twice”😂absolutely brilliant! RIP Lennard Pearce
"The way those Germans were carrying on, someone was gonna get hurt"
What you got, a wendy ' ouse?!?
"Promise you won't laugh?....I think I'm in love.......

Most loved show of all time in Serbia and other former Yugoslav states!
Serbia as good taste.
I howl everytime I see this clip. I'm so glad I grew up in a cool time.
Absolute genius. Thank you for the memories John Sullivan, RIP.
This series was a classic
One of, if not the best comedies of its time and we are still watching and laughing. Magical.
Just absolutely class....the best. Hilarious and so slick. How good is DJ’s acting whilst he’s making a chip butty and a brew!
Greatest show ever made . The writing and characters in the show was pure genius.
I miss the 80s life is so dark now :( bless grandad for making us laugh 😂
30 years had past... but I still laugh, over and over, and over :D nothing like Ofah!
It will always be my favourite series of all time, brings back the memories of many Christmas days spent with the family
Just superb
I mean, this kind of humour don’t seem to exist no more. The best trio on screen...period.
Period...?
A masterclass in comedy timing
They were and always will be my favourites. Nobody can hold a candle to these guys.laugh every time l watch them.Masters...all of the cast.
.
Our entire family love this drama. Evergreen drama. We can’t help but fall in love with Del Boy and Rodney (Dave ) and Trigger all over again. Laughter echoes in the house. It’s one of those dramas you never get bored with. May God Bless you all. Forget Covid, stay at home and watch Only Fools and Horses. They don’t make comedies like this anymore.
Every second of fools and horses has you spellbound on this great script and wonderful actors, what makes it remarkable is no sitcom's now can come near this.
Funny even now old fashioned British humour you can't beat it. 🇬🇧
There's more here in 3 minutes than there is in whole series of some programmes.
Seen them all so many times and still get a good laugh. This was when the BBC was well worth the licence fee.
Del boys laugh when Rodney says he's in love, it cracks me up 😂😂
40 40! Shes even too old for me! And grandad pipes up, oh i wud have to think twice.🤣🤣🤣
Just came here for Grandads pearler at the end. Slays me! 😂
LiNoe Liam Grandad’s best line of the whole show. Absolute belter.
Masterpiece of TV comedy never to be seen again. 3.05 minutes of genius.
I love Del's laugh
Del: Forty she's even to old for me .
Grandad: i would have to think twice . Lol pure magic
The actors and writers may be passing away but this program will live forever
true british comedy
Grandad : "Well I'd have to think twice " 😂😂😂😂
David Jason’s timing was incredible
Well I'd have to think twice
Dels face when he says Mickey Pearce. Also Del when he says " i shall be up all night with heartburn. Del laughing when Rodney says " i think i am in love. Three of the funniest moments in this clip.
I'd have to think twice - classic line 😂😂
Still love watching this show even today. British comedy is the best!
Every time del laughs after Rodney says that puts the biggest smile on my face! Why aren’t comedies like this anymore 😭!
Grandad’s timing was the best.
Only Fools & Horses is the best.
Comedy writing/acting at the very very best. Never ages. Genius
Best British comedy series ever to Grace our TV . Absolute genius programme
The old classic del boy choking on his breakfast 😂

in Croatia we love this show!
Wow really? That’s awesome! I hope to visit Croatia one day. Absolutely beautiful country!
@@PrecipitationAndCorderoy im from Croatia too and is my fav show and to answer for me and the explorerb no no "particular"reason other than this being comedy and acting at its finest lol
@@PrecipitationAndCorderoy This show was very popular here in the Balkans (Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia etc.). I don't know exactly why it was so popular but I think its because OFAH characters have this mentality, similar to ours. Life is hard and they struggle but never lose hope and stop being funny. I learned my first English words while watching this as a kid.
Funny cos these days england are starting to mix cultures. America certainley dont
That's good to know. I've got Croatian cousins apparently so we have something in common straight away when I visit !!
"I'd rather die in ignorance" only a genius could make that funny.
Nothing beats it nothing comes close to only fool's,luv it
One of the best British comedies ever, outstanding......
Grandad was an absolute legend 🤣🤣🤣
sitcom which made the working class in croatia to laught,,best memories, greetings

Super je serija
Great show... should have ended when they finally became millionaires.
Totally agree.
They did a special a few years later where they did become millionaires.
mattshookedonfishing Yes; that was intended to be the end and John Sullivan said as much.
Unfortunately the BBC decided otherwise, so a few years after the 'final' special there was another special in which Del and Rodney invested the money and lost the lot.
David Renwick said that he ended 'One Foot In The Grave' by killing off Victor Meldrew simply so that nobody could say, after he'd stated that there would be no more programmes, 'When are you doing some more?''
Somewhat agree, though it would have been a shame to end on Rodney and Cassandra having a miscarriage. It was nice closure to finally give them a baby.
I thought that but the last episode they done (sleepless in peckham) was a belter!
Del: Oi!
Rodney: Yeah?
Del: Can I dip my bread in your egg?
Rodney: .... -_-
Help yourself.
Their will never be a better comedy series than this, unbeatable 🤣👍😅🥂
Grandad "well I'd have think twice" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
grandad: who was that rodney Rodney: oh erm mickey pierce Del: shocked!! haha
Every line is either a joke or a set up to a joke, and then a reply to a joke, with another joke...bang, bang, bang...John Sullivan was an amazing writer, and the cast were just incredible. In our house, Del, Grandad and Rodney felt like our extended family.
Del's face when he hears Mickey Pearce😅😂😂😂😂
Best comedy show ever , the dynamics between the characters is brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻
This never gets old, love it!
Just hired this series and series 7 out from my local library. I got several other DVD's but I have been watching these over and over - its just that good.
So well written, production is superb and the acting is faultless. Such a brilliant series, I have to get hold of the rest of it!
Hired? Surely it'd be cheaper to buy second-hand? Maybe Del-Boy has some knocking about :).
PositiveSpirit ha ha good point though I should have said I got it from my local library where they're free. In saying that, I think I may just buy the whole lot as I enjoyed it so much and it does good re-watch value
MaTtRoSiTy Glad you took my comment in the spirit is was meant :). Yeah, it is worth buying the whole lot but maybe do what I did and get them on Amazon Marketplace where they are cheapest - Del would be proud ! Also there are lots of interviews on here with David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst talking about OFAH.
PositiveSpirit Thanks! I may just try that (though I am pretty sure laziness and convenience will have me just buying them anyway) :)
It gets a bit ropey from season 7 onwards. It becomes very soap like and a lot more politically correct and predictable.
There's still some decent episodes. But I prefer the more realistic and gritty feel of the earlier episodes. The jokes were a lot more original and refreshing back then, when nothing about it was slapstick and over the top.
Grandad line is so funny
