What to do when tube is stuck

I have an autistic child who has been recommended to have one of these due to his arfid condition .
He is very active and we are very apprehensive as to how restrictive this would make him. He is non verbal and most likely will not understand why this tube will be 'part 'of him.
He will be 7 soon and I feel the age will make it more difficult for him .

Checking the residuals at home may not be necessary for everyone especially if you have not had any complications with your tube feedings. Please consult your provider if you need to be checking residuals and before trying on your own.
