i wish the A is the MXL990, but i think its the t2020.
A is the MXL990
B is the AT2020
Why did I have the EZACT same thoughts...I was “afraid” the A was the at2020 lol cause I didn’t like it but it looks like a common go to lol
I have spent so many hours listening to my MXL990 that I always recognize it immediately. And as always I recommend that the AT2020 only be used as a paper weight.
Just stumbled on this, good test. Mic A has more high end and detail; you can hear mouth noises, like a "wetness" when you say "microphone". Mic B is a lot smoother.
A- AT2020
B- MXL 990
990 has more bass response
AT2020 has high frequency response
which gives you the illusion of wider sound scape
Mic A sounds way better.
MXL both 770 & 990 got more brilliant, clear sound and less self noise than AT 2020 and also AKG p 120

I'll be glad to hear your thoughts. As you can tell, they are similar but have some minor differences. Personally, I still love both of them. 😁
B is at 2020 bcz sounds good and balanced if you use good quality earphones to listen 👂
I prefer the mic A
A. sounded like it has an slight eq boost
B. Sounds more natural
I like A more; the bass is more clear to me and I think it is AT2020...Which is which?

P120? That's is a great ENTRY level unit. Personally. I think the P120 would be better. Unfortunately, right now, I don't have one available to do a test video for you.

I was thinking about picking up one of these microphones do you know any budget audio interfaces that would work well with these mics
I would recommend that M-audio M track solo or the Behringer UM2.

For which microphone?
Honestly, I use no EQ or Effects for my videos. ALL of the sound comes from the mic, but I do get really close and make sure to treat my room properly.
Yes the AT2020 is clearer, but I prefer the way MXL 990 sounds when it’s EQ’ed and in a mix.
i will assume mic 1 is at2020 because it has the p explosion more than mic 2 but the two microphones is very Similar
Used the AT2020 for over 10 years and one thing I know is its thinner high end shine

@@ceroseis de bajo presupuesto el At 2020 es una buena opción, yo lo tengo y tiene muy buena calidad! Más arriba un rode nt1a, tiene muy buena respuesta & una piso de ruido que no se escucha casi nada de ruidos molestos.. Y el Mxl 990 compite con el nt1a para mi.. espero haberte ayudado

What's the minor differences
To me? The AT2020 is a little more boxy. The MXL990 has a more airy sound which I do like a lot.

when you mentioned the plosives i knew it was the 2020 haha. Good mic but horrendous plosives.

The audio quality of a microphone is not so cut and dry. Each microphone can have different performance for different voice types. So, what I like to do is try and provide a baseline for each microphone so you can make your own educated decision.

I know this is out of topic but if you want to help I am very grateful so I wanted to buy between mxl 990, at2020 and akg p120 I use it only for home studios. which do you think I should choose? thanks btw.
What type of recording are you planning to do? The P120 is a great all around but the most expensive of the ones in your list.

I just spent my time and attention on this comparison and at the end there's no result! I like your videos, but not this one.
Jorge, the full follow up is in the AT2020 review. This video was an early test of a method of video making, I think you'll be glad to know, I didn't like it, so I didn't make any more like this. 🙃 All future videos are complete.
