This is in the running for one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.
Awesome and profound work
Una maravilla de coro, felicitaciones efusivas para todos....gracias por el gran homenaje al maestro Pau Casals
Perfect, sublime
When my choir did that we were much more aggressive,
I’m not used to this chill version, I like it.
Beautiful, poignant, and dramatic performance. The right pace, the right accoustics, and the right balance between the different voices (neither too top-heavy, like many choirs, nor muddy in the lower voices), allow this wonderful piece to bloom and swell in our hearts
Magnificent performance! Thank you! And I appreciate the conducting very much as well! Greetings from Cologne, Germany.
“O all you who walk by on the road, pay attention and see if there be any sorrow like my sorrow. Pay attention all people and look at my sorrow: if there be any sorrow like my sorrow.”
Ryan Sullivan has been a good student of Dr. Hightower . . . well done Ryan - beautiful outcome!
Amazing performance. Truly!
I sang this in high school for Texas all-state choir in 1980. This is a beautiful performance, and it brought back memories.
Doing this in choir, received music today and we are performing it on Saturday I believe! Can’t wait to hear my beautiful choir sing this! ❤️
Avec beaucoup plus de maturité et profondeur que ta version précédente. OUAHOU ! Et Bing dans le ventre !!
Ooooh that was really good. Wish I had all those basses with me - I'm on my own on second !
Amazing recording quality for 1965!
Outstanding rendition of that wonderful piece! Thank you for such moving performance!
Wow, beautiful!
Very well done production of this classic work of Casals. It is moving and makes me ponder about Our Lady of Sorrows.
Beautifully performed!
una meraviglia! :)
Well done Ryan and UNT choir. You've had a good teacher Ryan. :)
Bravi tutti!!
So touching. Thank you.
Y'all are fantastic!
Perfect 🙏
One of my favorite pieces and you guys executed it well!
Gracias…
Senzillament místic!
When I heard those powerful and nicely resonating F2s I was really looking forward to the C2 at the end. It's quite a pity that no one got down there
I’m not sure, but I think a couple of them may have sung it. I can’t actually “hear” the note, per se, but I can sort of make out the overtones that would suggest that a C2 was sung. Take my words with a grain of salt, though. I am not a professional.
It's there. I have a full-on professional set up - the overtones, everything. It's there.
Please explain what a C2 is or an F2 for that matter. American is so different from English, you don't have crotchets or quavers and the like.
An F2 is the second F below middle C. A C2 is two octaves below middle C. You can find more information on this naming system here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_pitch_notation
Right
Very beautiful and meaningful. Did he write just this one expert anthem and a cello piece?
It was verry nice. What is the translation?
