Nice, 4:25 is where we built our base. We settled on the plateau above the smaller waterfall overlooking the pond. Gorgeous views, very safe, and smack in the middle of everything. Totally worth making trips out to the space biome for metal.
Started Genesis 2 with a new character. Share your love for waterfalls, but prefer looking at them, so my beginner base was at 41.1 / 62.7. Peaceful spot in a lagoon with some pearls underwater, ducks coming by (for polymer) and right next to one of the deep-see tunnels to grab some quick oil every once in a while. Went looking for metal from there and built my multi-tiered industrial cliff-base at 35.3 / 75.4. That little ravine is filled with plenty of metal nodes and you can see evil volcano lair entrance towards the east and in the other direction alpha raptors spawn for quick tamed-dino leveling. Also got my 150 r-thyla, r-snow owl and 168 Tek Rex right around the corner towards the west. Lack of water and distance to space are sub-optimal though ;-)
I probably woulda chosen the secret valcano base as mine, simply because of the star wars vibe i get when looking at it. Definitely would make it a space port or a hanger for hover skiffs and meks (and i mean a LOT of em) i want the imperial march to go off when you enter 🤣 love the vids, and the hard work you put into each of them really shows in the quality. Cant wait to see the next series of Ark ABCs.. it was that series, alone, that saved me from quitting this unforgiving game, so Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for that.
The first spot in your video is where I built. That water spout is awesome for launching your Maewing so high you can cover most of the map. There is also a vent above it from the space area. You can be totally overburdened with resources and just drop down.

I'm currently on Aberration (just got my first rock drake last night) and your stuff has been incredibly helpful! I've never been this far into the game before despite playing since early access. I can't wait to get into the later content.
I built on top of one of the space portals, right next to a mission terminal. It's nestled back into the top left of the Eden biome, and it's nice except for water. I might end up building my greenhouse elsewhere, or further down at the base of the mountains. I have an amazing view though: snow owls and quetzals right outside the walls!
@Phlinger Phoo if you go to the under water ocean biome there is a under water base with air for breathing and glass windows. It also has two sided pools for tamed water dinos and to use as an entrance and exit.
I'm gonna build on that waterfall under the space needle. The view is fantastic and it's close to the walkways in the space biome to cross over to rockwell's garden.
That spot you settled on for your base is one of the top spots I've been eyeing to build on too. The only thing stopping me is the waterfall noise is so freaking loud that I don't think I can handle it.
I normally like to build in the middle of the map. I'll probably end up building on the Eden side near to one of the bridges to the void. It's such a huge map. So many possibilities.
20 levels to any tame. 150 perfect tame = 224. feed mutagel to make it a base 244. then start adding your points! great way to fix any tame errors as well
@@TehSymbiote makes me want to try a boss fight again. I crash every time when teleporting back from any boss fight on the island, so it never saves that progress and I load back in to the last save before the fight.
Loved the video! Not sure if you have done something similar for the other maps...if not, it would be cool having you fly around pointing out cool base locations.
Phlinger, you have been my guide ALL through my ark journey. But one thing I’ve noticed is that you don’t sort your inventory alphabetically...dude it is SOOO much easier for management. And it’s automatic, no effort required.
I made it to lvl 73 on singleplayer and used my Tek Suit and was like......awesome.......but not really challenging. No cheats, Dino count 1 along with difficulty and PVE settings. I started a new map n player without the suit and.....wow it’s more challenging but exciting👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The only downside is it takes foorever to get to destination A to B because the map is sooooo huge and it’s difficult to get the drop boxes
Yeah the drops can come in all the previous colors as well as two new ones, being cyan and orange. The drops change color and what they hold depending on the day.
The volcano spot is awesome, but as someone who based there, its gloomy. you eventually feel like never going to base because the map is so bright and nice then the base is like .... who didnt pay the electric bill.
I've been playing for close to 2 years now, and I still haven't made it off the island. I have a strong mutated Rex army, tons of mutated tames, and everything else I might need, but still stuck on the island.
What is it with you and loot quality, i really don't understand, you got more ascendant stuff in this episode then i did in the entire time playing Gen 2 🤷♂️
@@dirty7074 Thats the weird thing, the coffee time settings he goes over, does not reflect that. But that is what i thought initially on several other videos, RNG is not my friend lol

was better to use jet pack just to spacebiome , and normal survival .. i guess i will od that to myself each time i die i throw it and keep on just for spacebiome.

Ark just hates me now I used to be so lucky 150 dinosaurs no crashing nothing (I'm on xbox)used to have like 1000 and 1000 of narcotics just everything now I'm so unlucky I get level 20s the highest level I've found is a 150 so that's lucky but still I tried making a base but I couldn't place most of the foundations so I had to destroy and try again it took so many resources just for nothing

If you hold CTRL+Shift while over encumbered wearing tek armor, you can walk! Slowly, but better than nothing

I normally like to build in the middle of the map. I'll probably end up building on the Eden side near to one of the bridges to the void. It's such a huge map. So many possibilities.

That mountain lair, dinos from top of the mountain falls through the ceiling. Any tips to stop that from happening?
Power punch blocked drops on gen2 to clear them. Or use voidwyrm/wyvern wing atack to break the tree...

Stryders will leave you alone as long as you do not attack them from my own experience. They are passive creatures.

It depends on the loot multiplier, his is probably higher.
You can do the mission that improves loot quality. I believe its the enforcer race
