    We are an eclectic homeschooling family. I have no desire to stick with one style. I love to do whatever works and that we enjoy. Thanks for sharing.

    Our homeschool style has changed a lot over the years as well. Our homeschool is constantly flexing and adapting to fit our currently lifestyle. Thanks for sharing.

    Hey! Tuning in from our collab playlist. Your makeup looks lovely. Good 'ole poetry tea time. We stopped it because we were not consistent. Tried to do it on Thursdays-Thursday Tea Time. Just didn't happen. New Subscriber. 🌻

    Love and appreciate your heart. So glad to have come across your content our kiddos are similar in age and interests it seems. We started EP last year and loved it but often look to the other homeschool mom videos and start to doubt it’s enough. Thank you!

      Hi Kristen!! Thank you so much for your comment! I'm so glad you are here😊 I understand what you mean, but we thoroughly love it and it has worked great for us over the years. Don't doubt yourself if you feel like your kids are growing, but I understand that feeling!! I also love the mix of lessons and the ability to add/supplement things here and there with EP if it seems like we need to. I feel like it leaves room for the fun extras that your kiddos may want to explore. I even ask my kids about switching things sometimes, and they always choose EP😃 What subjects do you use EP for?

    • @kristenhall1880
      @kristenhall1880 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@worldofweeze my 4tb grade boy uses it for all his subjects. We did use Christian light for his LA and we’re gifted math mammoth for math 4 at the start of this year but ended up switching back to EP. My k/1 uses EP for kinder math and learn to read. It fits our budget abd seems it’s just enough of all the “homeschool styles” and seems so rounded. I love the things I’ve read from Lee herself and her heart for the Lord. It comes out in her content.

    We don’t do a morning basket as we do family subjects in the afternoons or early evenings depending on the time we agree on me and my older kids!!! We don’t do family subjects daily!!! We’ve never used a basket!!! We don’t poetry tea time but poetry is in my kids language arts curriculum!!! We love our homeschool group but it’s the one me and my husband was in when we partly homeschooled as teenagers!!! I only have 1 who loves organised sports and I have one who is learning to swim but we are active as a family as we surf!!! I try to not change curriculum unless it’s needed!!! We’ve had to jump around with phonics!!! If something works I stick with it as well!!! We have a mix of homeschool styles!!!

    • @worldofweeze
      @worldofweeze  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We sound similar on many things!! How cool that you use the same co-op for your kids as when you were younger🤩 Our summer is very full of swimming!!! So ready for those warm days!💦

    We don’t do poetry tea time either! We tried but it felt like something I had to be overly prepared for with snacks 😂

    Thanks for the encouragement!!! We are the same. I do a "basket" but its basically our group time/Bible/shared subjects. We have done poetry tea time in the past but its mostly for fun. We've put our own spin on it. It is definitely not something we do every week. Maybe once a month at the most!
    We also do not parttake in organized sports. It doesn't fit our schedule or budget...I also do not want to burn me or my kids out.
    We also never participated in a co op. Im not too keen on the "rules" and its hard to find like minded groups.
    I changed curriculum around SO much in the beginning years. The last 3 years I feel like I have settled into a good groove. I brought in Easy Peasy for the first time ever this year and we LOVE it. The woman that does our yearly portfolio check has been urging me to try it and I found your video in the summer and thought I'd go for it.
    I prefer a more relaxed homeschool. We can't possibly teach them all the things and do all the fun things. But we can definitely do whats best and fits for our family.

    • @worldofweeze
      @worldofweeze  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment!! I agree on all that you said! We seem to have similar homeschool flows😊 My kids do love tea and they like poetry, so maybe we will end up combining them one day!! I'm so glad that EP is working so well for you. I feel like a lot of people don't give it a good enough shot or they don't see the full value that's within it. We love it and I am just constantly thankful for the kind, giving family behind the curriculum👍🏻

    Things I don't do as a homeschooler:
    1. I don't do organized sports or music lessons (...my oldest is teaching herself piano)
    2. I don't use unit studies. I have tried and they kind of work...but I usually just end up reading a book aloud...and not doing connecting activities
    3. I don't do a lot of curriculum hoping around. Once we find something that works we tend to stick with it. Occasionally, I might try something new but for the most part (5 years in) our choices have been pretty consistent.
    Those are my top 3...and the only ones I could think of ATM.

    • @worldofweeze
      @worldofweeze  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We will be doing EP for the first time in the fall. I have jumped around too many times and realized it’s been a huge stress for me and very expensive. So I’m praying this works out for us and we can stick with one for a whole school year.

    We aren’t a big sports family either. I’m thankful we don’t have to take the time in the evening and weekends for sports. My girls are pretty active at our house or on play dates so I’m not too concerned about PE 😀

    We go on and off with morning basket and don't do it every day. I don't do poetry tea time either, I've started adding a poem once a week but usually it is quick and I had it for narration with my kids but they haven't shown a tremendous interest either lol.

    • @worldofweeze
      @worldofweeze  ปีที่แล้ว

      I get it! I can see myself implementing another morning basket or cart in the future😀 My kids actually really love poetry. My son has enjoyed writing some of his own (I mean, he likes it more when I help him🙄😂). But the thought of gathering all the items, plus the snacks, plus the poetry books. And then cleaning all the things up plus those tiny tea set items... 😴 Maybe one day we will give it a try❤️

    Thank you for sharing! Much needed. We’re planning to go with Easy Peasy for this upcoming year. Our current curriculum isn’t working as well for us in our current stage of life. We’ve actually put our second born on EP Learn to Read program. Our oldest has already switch to EP spelling. And the youngest is a baby, so he’s just watching and cooing them along 🤗
    I really needed to hear the part about being in organized sports. We’ve got pressure from family to get the boys in organized sports, but the team schedules aren’t working for our family. And I just really don’t want to do that right now.
    The only one of those things we do is morning basket, which is essentially our Bible time. I just happen to organize it in a basket, lol. There are so many wonderful things that can be done in homeschool. I guess they key is to pick the few that work for our family and don’t sweat the rest. We can’t possibly do all the things and not burn ourselves and kids out.

    • @worldofweeze
      @worldofweeze  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're very welcome! Happy to help with any other questions😊 I'm so glad to hear that EP is working well for your family. We love it so much! It's great.
      I agree on the sports. I have SO many friends that run themselves ragged each week (and their wallets) to keep up with all of the practices and games. It exhausts me hearing them talk about it. Maybe selfishly I don't want to give up our family time, but I feel like family time/dinners together are super important. I understand the desire and I feel like there are great things to learn from sports, but I just think it's too much sometimes. (Hopping down off my soapbox now😂🙊).
      I agree with you! Do what you can and what's best for all. Seasons change and things come and go. I love the variety of fun and learning that homeschooling brings. Thanks for your comment!

    Hahaha, so this year is the first year that we have tried Poetry tea-time and it has worked for us. Though, I think it will probably be a fall/winter/Spring thing as it seems to work with colder weather (go outside...till too cold...come inside have cocoa or tea read poetry and maybe some books).
