Sommerlicher Lauftag in der serbischen Hauptstadt
Endlich konnte ich zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben die Hauptstadt vom Ex-Jugoslawien besuchen und war selbst erstaunt, was für eine schöne, verbesserte Hauptstadt heute ist.
Man kannte das gesamte Land "Jugoslawien" aus dem Kosovokrieg (1998/99) und war an dieser Stadt fast von den NATO-Bombardierungen total beschädigt... Mit meiner Frau hatten wir dort viel angesehen und fand diese umgewandelte (einstige, schmutzig-grau wirkende Beograd mit vielen äußeren Zeichen der post-kommunistischen Ära) Hauptstadt ganz toll.
Aufgrund meiner Sammlung für die europäischen Marathonhauptstädten habe ich bewusst den 37. Belgrad Marathon ausgewählt, geplant wäre ich an diesem Sonntag in Madrid, ebenfalls beim Marathonlauf, aber da meine Eltern in diesem Zeitraum die 75. Geburtstagsfeier hatten, blieb ich bei einem Wochenend-Kurzaufenhalt in Belgrad.
Der Belgrad-Marathon (serbisch Beogradski maraton) ist ein Marathon in Belgrad, der seit 1988 stattfindet und von der Belgrade Marathon Ltd. organisiert wird. Zum Programm gehören auch ein Halbmarathon und ein 5-km-Lauf ohne Zeitmessung.
1999 wurden wegen des kurz zuvor ausgebrochenen Kosovokriegs die Wettkämpfe abgesagt und ein Gruppenlauf für den Frieden auf der Strecke abgehalten.
Marathon und Halbmarathon starten auf dem Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra, in unmittelbarer Nähe der Skupština und des Tašmajdan-Parks.

Summer running day in the Serbian capital
I was finally able to visit the capital of the former Yugoslavia for the first time in my life and was amazed at what a beautiful, improved capital it is today.
I knew the entire country of "Yugoslavia" from the Kosovo War (1998/99) and the city was almost completely damaged by NATO bombings... My wife and I had seen a lot there and found this transformed capital (the former dirty-grey Belgrade with many external signs of the post-communist era) really great.
I deliberately chose the 37th Belgrade Marathon because of my collection of European marathon capitals. I was planning to be in Madrid this Sunday, also for the marathon, but since my parents had their 75th birthday party during this period, I stayed in Belgrade for a short weekend stay.
The Belgrade Marathon (Serbian: Beogradski maraton) is a marathon in Belgrade that has been held since 1988 and is organized by Belgrade Marathon Ltd. The program also includes a half marathon and a 5 km run without time measurement.
In 1999, due to the Kosovo War that had broken out shortly before, the competitions were canceled and a group run for peace was held on the route.
The marathon and half marathon start on Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra, in the immediate vicinity of Skupština and Tašmajdan Park.
