    Not sure if this is still an issue, but my wife’s was doing the same thing and I was surprisingly able to get it going, I’m not very mechanically inclined so it was surprising to me. So when I removed the dirty water tank I saw that there was the filter hole (white) and another hole (gray). In the gray hole there was what looked like to me to be a bolt that was seized. I grabbed a screw driver and spun it a couple times and when I tried the clean mode it worked. Seems to be working fine now but I have a feeling I’m going to have to do that again in the near future it was pretty rusted

      I personally got my vaccum replaced by tineco under warranty. Your comment is the first one that has some advice. I'm not sure your bolt problem will fix the shutting off randomly problem, but its worth a try for people who have no other options. Congratulations on the pin!

      I hope it helps someone, because it was doing what yours was shut off and say to clean the dirty water tank or the debris channel. I tried removing the top of the dirty water tank and it would say clean debris channel. So I tried to open it up but I got scared I was gonna break it so I put all the screws back lol. That’s when I noticed the two ports that connect to the dirty water tank. Just got lucky I guess

    I’m so over my tineco. My machine does something similar and it’s after warranty now. What’s everyone doing now? Do you buy another and go through the same back and forth of returning and getting it fixed for it to break down again. Buy a Bissell. Or a go back to a mop. I don’t know that I can ever go back to a mop, but there has got to be a better way.

  • @RayBlack321
    @RayBlack321 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just from watching real quick, it makes it seem like the motor that helps with the forward assist is bad or maybe the mop head motor is not allowing it to spin fast enough, causing it to go out on that error? My Tineco does the same thing, but that’s for cleaning it or if I’m just mopping, it’ll turn itself off after three or four seconds. Messed up is I bought it February 20 20 and the company did fix it but now it’s having the same exact problem…

      I would still buy one, I know lots of people who've had no issues. If you look up vacuum wars, you'll see he rated the tineco line up as the best vacuum mop.
      For me personally, after the sent me a new one, it's worked ever since without a hiccup

    Replace the little filter and see if that solves the issue. If it doesn't create a vacuum seal which that little filter helps create, it will tell you the canister is full

  • @JoJo173
    @JoJo173 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the problem is that the water tank on top does not have enough of a seal either where you put in the water or the little seal on the bottom to cause a suction.

    • @David_Poole
      @David_Poole  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see how the clean water tank sealing would cause a dirty water tank fill fault. That tank is most likely passive. There's just a switch inside that either let's water drop out, or not.

    SOLUTION Maybe: This was happening to mine too. Kept stopping and saying dirty water tank full. It wasn’t full. I was going nuts. I looked at the screen and saw that the filter light was on. I didn’t understand because the filter was completely clean. I decided to try and troubleshoot myself since there seem to be no answers to this question. I took off the area where the filter is kept and looked at it. I thought that maybe my filter got wet when I was cleaning off the tank cover. Just in case I changed the filter to make sure it was completely dry. Tried the vacuum and same thing. DIRTY WATER TANK FULL! Ok calm down. Let’s look again. I took the filter back out and dried the entire tank cap with a towel. The metal prongs at the top that connect to the sensor may be an issue I thought. I blew on them and droplets of water came out of the cracks. I kept doing it and wiping it off until no more water came out. Now the tank cover was completely dry. I tried the vacuum again and it worked perfectly. Lesson is whatever you do, do not get the tank cover wet. Not even a tiny bit. Do not rinse it off unless you are going to let the machine sit long enough for it to completely dry. Don’t even put it upside down on the counter when you are emptying the tank. The water on the underside will leak into the filter area. So if this happens just make sure the filter and the filter compartment are completely dry as a bone. Get the blow dryer out of you have to.

      I had the same issue. The battery now wont charge I think its water dripping in to the charger points. Frankly this is a major fault. I bought via Amazon so I am waiting for a 2 days for the Manufacture to respond. I would opt for a full refund bought June 22 so has 12 months warranty.

    I had a similar issue with it telling me the DQT was full when it wasn't or to self clean when I had and know that was not needed. Thankfully it is within warranty I got it in January but they want to send me a refurbished model instead of new as it is over 30 days old. Curious if yours was refurbished as well? It makes me a little nervous to get a refurbished one that may have scuffs or look beat up compared to my new machine or battery that may not be as new since once the battery goes I have to buy a new machine I was told. Thanks!

      The sensor that detects static pressure starts to fail and the vacuum thinks the plastic float in the dirty water tank has engaged. Which would normally mean the dirty water tank is full. This is why it says to empty the tank when it's not full.
      If you bought the vacuum in the last 2 years, it's covered under warranty. The best thing you can do is call customer service as they will fix it for free

    Follow below step is should solve your issue as it does for me based on Service center advice.
    1. Please remove the dirty water tank.
    2. Please take the machine off the charger.
    3. Please make sure the machine is powered off.
    4. Please long-press the self-cleaning button for at least 20 seconds, you may count on it for a time.
    5. Please reinstall the dirty water tank and restart the machine and see if the same issue still exists.

    Mine started with the same issues! Now it won’t make it past the ‘cleaning debris channel’. So it dumps half a can of water on the floor during roller cleaning cycle and won’t suck it up…

      Exactly what happend to me. I own a S3 since around 3 weeks. It was working like a charm. No I had not used it for about a week and soon as I start to vacuum it stops working after a few seconds and tell me "clean dirty water tank, clean debris channel". The dirty water tank is empty and clean. The debris channel is clean and free. I cleaned it with the brush that comes with the appliance and I also tested if water can rinse through, bouth works fine, that is also no debris viewable with a flashlight.
      I tried to replace the roller, with the spare roller, the filter with the spare filter. Cleaned everything. I can't find any clogging and dirt left overs.
      But no matter what I do, the message keeps repeating and I am not able to use the appliance. If placed on the station/stand I can start the cleaning cycle but all water is left on the stand instead of the dirty water tank. For some reason the appliance doenst seem to vacuum anything in.
      I have guarantee so it is not a biggie, but I would be still looking for tipps how to fix this issue myself.

      The motor rusted and seized up. After owning mine for over a year, I didn't use it for a couple weeks and when I went to use it, it did exactly as you described. I took the unit apart and found that the fan that creates suction was seized up. I spun it until it felt smooth and reassembled. It has worked since then. Key takeaways are to not let it sit for long periods of time, and don't suck up anything corrosive. That means don't clean with things like vinegar. I think the main failures for these types of machines are weird program bugs (what you see happening to me in this video), and motor failure from rust and corrosion overtime. water and metal don't mix!

  • @RichieRich845
    @RichieRich845 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you tried replacing the dirty tank from the good Tineco and see if that works. Seems like a sensor problem to me, or some sort of safety flout stuck. Worth a try, it's a shame people don't fix things anymore.

    • @David_Poole
      @David_Poole  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't try that before returning the vacuum. The dirty water tank has a float, but no sensor. I know the float wasn't stuck. It would be visible and audible. Not sure swapping would have made a difference. I think this is a sensor issue

    I have a feeling these Chinese knockoffs are priced super high to give the illusion of prestige over the legitimate crosswaves. Obviously still just cheaply made over priced Chinese knockoffs.

    • @David_Poole
      @David_Poole  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the tineco offers legitimate benefits over the cross wave. People have had similar issues with the cross wave as well. It really depends on what you want from yournwet vacuum. The cross wave having a dry and wet tank sounded like a lot more work that I didn't wanna have to deal with. The tineco with a fresh and dirty tank.

      @@David_Poole David you’re very right. I have a two month old Tineco ifloor S5 & although I’ve not resolved my problem (no suction, it spews water out the bottom), I have had four of Bissell’s Crosswaves, two they sent free after the second one I bought devolved problems (like the first one I bought) while under warranty. I have taken the Crosswaves completely apart & put back together. I had spares after all. Each developed similar problems. I own several other Bissell products that I don’t have problems with. Conclusion? Design issue with the Crosswave. So I make the leap to Tineco. Fell in love with the superior quality & cleaning. Wow. But lately, after three months, it developed this problem. I think water got up into the motor. It fell over one day. I got it quick but still. I went through the bottom half, it seemed in good shape, next is the upper part. Not looking forward to that. Any tips would be most appreciated. But Tineco, quality is better.

    Tineco makes expensive pieces of junk. I have been having trouble with my s3 for 2 years now. They made me pay to send it to them to fix but it was still doing this and now the clean wage reservoir has a leak in it as well. It spills water all over the place when it’s in clean mode. Doesn’t suck up any water and says tank is full . The fact that I had to pay $74 to fed ex it back to them for fixing is crap . Today they told me to pay for it to be sent back to them again and maybe they’ll send me a refurbished one.. that will be $$400 + into a $250 machine that has been faulty from the beginning

    • @David_Poole

      I made this video for tineco so they would warranty the product. They wanted me to send them a 30 second video over email. As you can see that wouldn't have been nearly enough time to show what was going on, so I made a TH-cam video for them to watch.
      This was actually to 2nd vacuum I received where right out of the box it did this. It was during a sale so I wonder if they were trying to offload known to be bad products. The first time I returned it, I was able to drop it off at Kohl's and get a new one no questions asked with Amazon. The second time I had to go through tineco. There are alot of people online who say there customer service sucks. I did not have that experience. They answered the phone first time. Yes they were Chinese but the spoke good English and understood me without issue. They responded to the emails quickly as well.
      After they watched this video, they immediately sent me a 3rd vacuum and it's worked great ever since.
      Have you had the same issue? Or are you on the fence about buying one? If your on the fence, I do wanna add that it's a great product once you get one that works. It was a big hassle to go through the return process twice, but I think the tineco makes light vacuuming and mopping so easy that it was worth the hassle in my case. My whole entire house is hardwood floors so it's a real time saver. Best of luck

You can also do a factory reset by holding down the cleaning button on the top of the handle for 20 seconds. You remove it from the dock and get the display on. Then hold down the button. It gives you no signal that it did anything so don't expect a confirmation tone or notification. Maybe that will get rid of it. It will also be the first thing tineco asks you to do if you call them
