That’s it, I’m never going to ride splash mountain and I’m never going to get the Disney experience I wanted, as much as I find Princess and the frog a good movie I despised the idea of changing splash mountain because Disney keeps loosing more and more classic rides to time and never takes the time to refurbish and fix animatronics in only rides, they had a hide opportunity to fix a lot of old run down animatronics during Covid and they never did. As much as I love Disney I hate it for the cash grabbing money milking decisions they make

The fact that the characters in the ride are being used to tell stories attempting to convince a Black child that being enslaved on a plantation is the best possible thing? Because that was the plot of Song of the South. A Black man trying to convince a child that being enslaved on a plantation was a fantastic way to live your life. That's not something something that should be acceptable anywhere, least of all a place intended to foster imagination, joy, and magic for *everyone*.
They literally used a song with racist lyrics for the background music of splash mountain, they just used a non-lyrical version of the song. Imagine having a lovely day at a cute and innocent place and then knowing that the lyrical version of the song you are hearing promotes racism. It doesn’t fit in. Disney wants to acknowledge their history of racism and make it a thing of the past, they can’t do that without removing everything promoting song of the south (the movie splash mountain is based on)

If you have a disability that limits your ability to wait in lines you can talk to guest relations and they'll set you up with a Disability Access Pass. A lot of things will depend on your specific access needs, but off the top of my head quick service locations have free water, which is important in general but especially if you overheat easily. With the My Disney Experience app for FL or the Disneyland app for CA you can check wait times for anywhere, which I recommend doing before your trip so you can see how ride waits change throughout the day - that will help you plan. Things that have especially long wait times are best to do at rope drop or right before park close - as long as you're I line at park close, you'll be able to ride. In Magic Kingdom there are a fair number of rides like little mermaid, philharmagic, and small world that usually have a 5-15min, which are great to ride while you wait for a return time on something like peter pan or mine train. Any dietary restrictions just let a cast member at the food location know and they'll get a coordinator to personally handle your food to ensure no cross contact or contamination. Also through guest relations there are tactile maps available, and on certain days there are interpreters for folks who benefit from sign language - worth calling ahead or checking online to make sure you'll be able to access that on your trip if you need it. Disney has ECVs available if that's preferable/accessible compared to a non-motorized wheelchair, but they get rented fast so try to get to the park early. If you need to charge medical devices at any point ask the nearest cast member and they can either help you find an outline or contact a coordinator to help. Companion bathrooms are available throughout the park, though limited unfortunately. They should be on the map, but a guest relations cast member can help you mark them on your map as well. There are service dog relief areas in or very near the parks, and those are on the map as well. Service dogs can ride most rides, but for rides that they can't go on someone from your party will need to stay with them - cast members can't wait with them. Some rides do feature flashing lights, and many rides are loud, if there are sensory concerns. To my knowledge all Disney transportation is wheelchair friendly - monorail, ferry, skyliner, and busses. These can take you park-to-park, to and from resorts, and to and from Disney Springs (bus only). That's all I can think of at the moment, but I did the Disney College Program for a year so I'm happy to answer any other questions as best I can if you'd like! (I don't speak for the company in any way, I just love Disney and I like helping folks have a good trip)

Watching the part where she says the torn ride unlocked a memory, I remember stand looking past a odd train station in the section where goofy’s barn stormer and dumbo are, for content this is years ago I was a little girl. I remember seeing this big roller coaster track that went straight for a while then shot up ward, I stood there in the blazing heat wonder what it was. I still dont know maybe its the trim ride. Btw RIP splash Mountain, I was so sad when Disney got read of ‘honey I shunk the kids’ land and The old stitch ride, for those wondering they turned in to a break room my years of going on that ride for years just for a break room. Splash Mountain isn't actually likely to be re-themed at all actually. Especially since they have changed CEOs again and the Governor is doing his best to keep such a piece of history intact.
That was such a great ride and I’m really happy that I’ve had the privilege of going on it so many times. But I have to be honest. I am also looking forward to what they do with it in the bayou theme for Tiana. It’s an old ride with an old story that most millennials don’t even know, much less younger generations. They need to stay current with their current storylines.

bruh march 31st is the day im going to disney world, well flying to orlando but my first day at disney (for the vacation, ive been to disney world before) is april 1st..
It’s not fair… I can’t afford Disneyland and the ride I wanted to go on most and now it’s gone… screw you disney for making your tickets $500 freaking dollars!!!
They’re still having the same ride I believe, they’re just rebranding it since the movie splash mountain was based on (song of the south) glorified slavery.
It’s not that expensive. That’s basically how much it is for three of us to go to Disneyland California every time. You just have to wait for the prices to go down, sometimes it’s below $100 per person.
Tickets for Disney are usually around $130. I don't know where you're getting $500 from.

I’m so excited for the retheme of Splash Mountain!!! I’ve never really understood the story it was trying to tell and the animatronic definitely need an update. I’m so excited to see Tiana after the movie!!!

Because people love splash mountain, it would cause uproar if they got rid of it completely. They want to get rid of it because the movie it’s based on is extremely old and racist and unpopular. So instead they will still have the same ride, just with different characters, and Tiana is the character they chose.
