By bypassing the starter relay, which you did, I think you proved it to be likely that the relay block was bad. I realize this is an old post but I'd be curious. What was the final fix? Thanks for taking your time to do this video.
Sorry folks this is a farm truck and has not been fully repaired. I have a suspicion it was the neutral lockout switch in the transmission being eaten by rats that caused this condition. Maybe one of these days I'll get it to the shop and have the situation resolved once and for all. When I do I'll let you know
Silly question Does that bypass the fuse box? Im intrested to in knowing because i suspect the fusebox might be bad and so will this diagnose if it turns on with the remote start?
With the really old cars like 70-80 I think.ive seen people just open up the hood and use a screwdriver and connect to heads on the solenoid and it starts right up
You can do that with a brand new one too if you can get to the starter or you can pull the relay and jump it with a piece of wire about 6 inches long it’s actually easier cuz you don’t have to get at the starter to do it
I'm having this same issue with my Mitsubishi lancer. It will start with no problems for weeks and then suddenly won't start. Most of the time if we wait for 20 minutes it will start, it's unpredictable though. New battery, new starter. Thanks for the video, I'm going to give it a try
I used a copper wire the first time connecting the bolt connecting the the battery and starter and the silinoid bolt. I purchased what you have in the video. Thanks man, I don't have time to see if its a ignition switch or clutch safety switch. Unless someone can tell me what color wires to cut on a 2002 Ford Ranger for the clutch safety switch and ignition switch.
I have been starting my car like this for years, better off running a wire from the starter to the ignition switch fuse. I turn my key to activate the fuse. Only safety feature that does not work is neutral safety switch, which works still don’t know what the problem is 4 years later lol
p1988 code i always get it and i changed my switch and still get CEL. but I just realized that the ground goes to the starter relay and that pin to the relay is broken and i always and a wire jumper to another ground to start my truck.
I'm having this problem also I turn ignition switch on, all lights show up on instrument panel But no start So I checked fuses, relays All are good So I disconnect the wire on the solenoid switch on starter S terminal Ran a wire up to battery and with switch on Touch the Pos on battery and she cranks up I also while I was under truck I connected a wire to the wire I took loose ran it up to top of engine so I can test to see if it is hot, ( that wire should be hot when you turn the switch to crank the truck) when ever I think I have found the problem SO now I can research my problem I found at the fuse box Starter Relay and Fuse were good So I pulled the fuse and noticed where the fuse plugs in (you have 2 male legs) only one side where the leg plugs in had a female clip So the fuse is not connecting I took box loose Flipped it over looking for a wire that is just laying there not connected to anything I have looked of and on for 4 days and have not found a loose wire Now I'm puzzled ILL keep checking and hope I find the problem Thanks for the video
I swap from automatic to manual in a hyundai tiburon v6 2.7 now that a put all parts it wont start no crank no sound can u help me with transmission conector wire code for 03 tiburon

Yes! Crawl, Nest, CHEW! The best defense (or at least alarm) I've found so far: a terrier dog, or a cat (rescue's of course).

I had put a 5.9 in my 06 ram1500 it had a 4.7. I put the transmission an pcm for the 5.9 but it still doesn't want to start..help....lol
Basically you told people how to hotwire stuff lol at least u got remote switch.
Not exactly: The key still has to be in the ignition, and turned to the "run" position for the starter to engage when pulling the trigger.
I have a 4l60e put a another transmission in it and made it about half a mile and lost all gears what's the issue here

So basically take it to a shop and see if it is a wire issue or a mechanic issue.
What did the shop determine was the issue?
