It’s a basic concept: the best exclusive games on PS3. By exclusive I mean it didn’t come out on anything else - before or after - the PS3, and the obvious caveat being: at the time of making this video.
I did that Dreamcast one a couple of years ago then Sega went and re-released Shenmue on modern platforms and ruined everything. EVERYTHING. Alright, not everything. Anyway, I wouldn’t cry if Metal Gear Solid 4 got a re-release with better controls, but then Konami would probably add NFTs to it or something.

Thinking about the PS3 the first thing that comes to mind is all those horrible decisions Sony made but I still think its was a great console.

Great list! I played Tokyo jungle a good bit. I also played Naughty Bear. As I recall it was a ps3 exclusive as well.

I miss the days of GT5 where you would hit a crack or in the tarmac or something major like a blade of grass, and your car would suddenly bounce off down the track with those ultra realistic rubber ball hit with an explosive, physics.

Cool that you wrote for Play (I would have probably even read your 3DDGH review back in the day); I have a massive nostalgia for PS1 mags especially and am trying to get issue 1 of each publication. Play is actually one of the few I'm missing...for now :)
MGS4 is the one I think about the most out of the series. And was definitely the least clunky up to its point in time

MotorStorm as a whole is an amazing Racing series. It's crash physics/damage system are awe inspiring. Right up there with Burnout 3.
Always happy to see Motorstorm being mentioned, we need more diversity in racing games
That game with a snail - was it Time Slip on Net Yaroze? Played that for so long when it was on an OPM demo disc.
Pacific Rift is one of the games I got a promo version of from Gamestation back in the day because I knew a guy there and he'd give me the promo discs when they were done with them, got Singstar PS3 like that as well. Still one of the most fun racers I've played, and Motorstorm Arctic Edge is a criminally underrated PSP game as well (since it's basically Pacific Rift but all snow). As is the top down Motorstorm that got put out on PSN that I can't remember the name of.
I didn't need to get further than the 2nd suggestion. When I got a PS3 again two years ago it was the first thing I bought as it's just a great arcade game in which you can have fun being stupid and mad or take a more calculated approach and the atorg is fun too
No Killzone 2 Ian? Even after all the bullshots, it was a pretty decent shooter, even tiny details you still dont' see in modern FPSes.
Also, Lair is no where near as bad as what it was made out to be at the time, especially after they patched it to have "normal" controls.
I have never liked a single Killzone game, they're all some of the dullest pap out there.
@@Bransfiiiield They're not dull. They're some of the best shooters on PlayStation. The weapon sounds and the way the weapons animate and feel heavy is amazing. They're baron hopelessness, where you're breathing in the dust and the charred remains of your enemies that embodies every battlefield. You should give Killzone another shot.
Does Tokyo Jungle count as an exclusive if there was a Playstation Mobile grid-based version (which was also pretty fun I might add)
Yeah, I'd say the mobile version is its own thing so a separate game. Not played it though, sounds cool.

I never got round to playing resistance 3 while I still had a PS3. Had the game on my shelf for years and everything. Had a go recently on PS Now, but trying to play a first person game running under 30fps with input lag... Horrible
I’m genuinely angry with YT that this video’s been out for a month and The Algorithm never plopped it in front of my face. I even saw your more recent video, this one got unjustly buried until I remembered to search.
I appreciate the effort. TH-cam won't ever put me front and centre, I've come to terms with that now.

I hated A crack in time's puzzles, and when playing, I wished I could just skip them. Oh and I never finished GT5 or bought GT6. I thought that 5 was a letdown
I cant lie, I'm struggling to find a game simply titled "Everybody's Golf" on the PS3. I can find it on PS2 and PS4, but only results on PS3 are World Tour, and numbers 5 and 6 in the series.
What gives?
It's number 6, it was just called Everybody's Golf here in Europe. Also it's PSN-only here, so won't be on shops/eBay etc.

After how crap Resistance 2 was, probable in the top 10 worst fps I have ever played, I am not suprised many skipped 3. The npc AI was non existent, they attacked you regardless of where you were when triggered and ignored your team mates who triggered their activation, turrets would pick you up and start shooting at you even when you had not even been seen by them and were on the opposite side of the building that they were placed on and you had to travel through that building to get there with the sound of the gun firing all the way. The simple fact that enemies would duck and standup at the same time as you when they were locked behind cover or avoiding enemies once they auto targeted your position and ran to it, was to snag them on the scenery while the basic path finding "AI" figured out how to get where you are again.
On the plus side, Resistance 2 was the game that made me stop paying attention to official reviews and pay more attention to gamer reviews and what my mates had said (who all told me to skip it especially as I thought the original was a bit crap).
When I think of PS3, I think of many mistakes and furthermore terrible management of PS3 legacy, surprisingly built on those mistakes and possible legacy support on PS5 won't change that.

Most players don't even like the changes in the remake.
Not even a minute into the video I explain the criteria and specifically call out Demon's Souls as not making the list. Under a minute. Fewer than 60 seconds. Less than a whole rotation of the seconds hand.
What I'm saying is: it's not like I hid the information, is it?
