  • I dunno how I decided to start making this one, but I started this in the morning and completed most of it in about an hour on the road. So yeah. I tried to emulate the trumpet sound from Earthbound for the lead instrument. Also I made this cool realistic banjo sound that i really liked so I used it too. That will be all.

    I'm just amazed that not even Lagrange Point composers - who did an absolutely fantastic job themselves - used the VRC7 as well as somebody who had no link with the people developing it did. You truly deserve more recognition.

      well i mean it was composed by someone who was only dragged in for having the first popular metal album in japan for quite a while and not konami's head boys

      The engineers had no say in it ?

      I don't think the VRC7 chip was widely used mainly due to it being proprietary to konami mainly for one, and two, the NES not supporting the extra sound channels.

    It's absolutely amazing how an NES can support this type of soundchip. Sounds like the SEGA Genesis soundfont.

      The Mildly Shocked Sunflower [SSB4 Replays] The VRC7 was pretty much a lesser version of the YM2612.

      lol VRC7 is a defferent league from the OPN2 (another name for the YM2612)
      VRC7 is 2 Operators but the YM2612 is 4 Operators.
      also u can have only 1 custom patch active when playing the VRC7. the YM2612 has no limit.

    • @dcb99filmz
      @dcb99filmz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The YM3812 was a chip on two particularly famous MS-DOS sound cards (AdLib and SoundBlaster), and then it was stripped down to make the YM2413, used in the Sega Mark III/Master System FM Unit (as heard in Phantasy Star, After Burner, Zaxxon 3D, Space Harrier 3D, and Shinobi), then stripped down further to make the Konami VRC7, which was used in two games but only one, Lagrange Point, used the audio. The other was a Tiny Toons game, which totally should've used the audio tbh.

    • @ThePotatoWhisperer
      @ThePotatoWhisperer  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I convert the FTM TO NSF, and I open that in NSFplayer, which has volume/stereo mixing. From there I export it to wav and place it over the video.

    Holy fuck balls, could this be fucking actual hardware? As in, could it fucking have actually sounded like this if it had the VRC7?! If it did, that is some major fucking missing potential!!!!!!!
