You support Trump for different reasons, which is a combination of your desires for the future, facts known about the past, and the reasoning process through which likely futures can be established from prior facts. I have chatted daily on YT for the last decade (at least) with people on both sides. My conclusion is that in _all_ cases, people are wrong in one of these if they support Trump. People may have the heart in the right place, but have been deceived. They may have the right facts, but fail in their reasoning process. Or they are just ultra-nationalists (to keep it friendly) who want to see immigrants and liberals suffer. Now, people who make mistakes will be represented on both sides of the partisan divide. But only supporters on one side at this moment are fed by good intentions, are being well-informed _and_ have employed sound reasoning. That’s the Democrats, sorry (I’m not one btw). My prior point admittedly had some hyperbole to it, but I do think an increasing fraction of MAGA is increasingly aware they are on the wrong side, and are patching up their cognitive dissonance with increasingly crazier conspiracy theories in a cascade that can only lead to very bad outcomes down the line.
You approached me respectfully, and by no means do I mean disrespect with the above. But it is my current conviction that every Trump supporter is wrong in their choice or a bad person. But I am all for being corrected if mistaken, so feel free to educate me on why you think he is a good pick. If those reasons are his love for the American people, I would like some evidence, because I have overwhelmingly seen evidence of him loving himself. And if a successful presidency is the argument, then I would love to know by what metric. He was objectively (by international standards, normalized by GDP) terrible on Covid, his administration was one of the least effective in terms of policies passed, his big promise (the wall) was only 2% delivered, he racked up the public debt more than any other president, even excluding covid relief programs. I could go on and on, but let me summarize it this way. If he was so great, why is ranked as worst on the Presidential Greatness Expert Survey. Why is he ranked one of the worst in the C-SPAN historians review index. Note: that result is almost the same even when you limit the reviewers to Republicans!

I recall a comment from 2012 by Wallace at the RNC. He had been hyper critical after Obama had spoken at the DNC. After Romney spoke at the RNC Wallace said to the effect )I'm paraphrasing) I mean we could ask some questions, but instead let's just enjoy seeing these beautiful families.
He was hired by fax to give it the appearance of credibility, but make no mistake, he had lines he was not to cross, and Chris towed those lines like a good little soldier, who was paid many millions of dollars to do as he was told. I'm not saying he was a hack like Oreilly or Hannity, but he played his partisan part.

As a new anchor and journalist, Chris Wallace is the cream of the crop! Tremendous respect!
I remember when Fox News first came out. It was (and still is) very graphical, highly colorful, and overtly musical. It didn't take long to realize Fox News was (is) appealing to simpletons. Reaching out to those with low IQ, the under-educated....and thereby taking advantage of them via (media) manipulation.

Murdoch owns 70% of the print media in Australia and has Sky News, which is like an offshoot of Fox (mostly on cable TV but has been allowed on free-to-air in the rural areas). Of course they have an effect, but us Aussies seem to be more discerning than Americans. Maybe something to do with education?

I think you're thinking of the Sunday morning talk shows. CBS still has a Sunday morning news show (Sunday Morning). I remember watching that when Charles Kuralt was the host. NBC has Sunday TODAY. ABC has Good Morning America Weekend.

Chris Wallace is a gem. I do think his notion about Fox changing post-2020 election is mistaken (in that the network was way out of control well before that time), but regardless of his lateness in recognising that, I think he was clearly the key voice on Fox that gave it any legitimacy at all and he was always apparently the consummate professional. He is of course correct that the media's job is to hold power to account. This is the thing I find most partisans misunderstand: they get angry when "their" candidate gets asked "unfair" questions. In reality, they should always celebrate these "unfair" questions - that's the media's job. As Wallace says, the media isn't supposed to make friends. It's the fourth estate - it holds power accountable (regardless of party), and that is an essential public service in a healthy democracy. We attack the (serious) media at our own peril.

Mr Wallace, You were brought on fox to give it an air of credibility. But you were not a non partisan. Everyone has a bias, but a real journalist should not be partisan. I could pull up hours of video showing you being a partisan. So your cries of foul here ring very hollow.
I haven't been this irritated by an interview in a while and I'm just gonna say it makes perfect sense that Ari would associate with someone like Chris. He seems really comfortable rubbing shoulders with some absolute chodes.
