This board is soo tasteful. I can't get over it. For me I would have to add 2 pedals to the already 99% perfect board. . . a Digitech Drop to quickly drop to Eb and B whenever I need. Then some type of mutli-chorus pedal. Great video! I have watched it a few times.
Great tips. Thanks. By the way. I saw you at the jazz bar in Prag a couple of weeks ago. Great gig. Was great to see you performing live. Excellent performance. 🎉
@@JeffMcErlain I came back from Germany to see you. I was listening to your TH-cam video in the car, travelling to Munich, when you announced the gigs in CZ. I shortened my trip to have the opportunity to see you live in Europe. Thanks for coming.
Rig sounds great. I love your neck pickup tone! I recently built a new board too. I’ve only ever had tube amps and a small pedal board, but I went digital recently, it feels like a lot like trusting your bank info to Internet banking when it first came around. But it really has expanded what can do, reduced what I have to carry and made me a lot more versatile to hook up at the venues I’ll play at. I’m pretty impressed with what they can digitally now for just a bit of cash. So my new pedalboard only has a POD Express and a boost on it.
Tidy!! Also love that you're using solderless cables. Everyone lately seems to be against them. A properly made solderless cable is just as good as a soldered one.
I could definitely run in stereo form the Lehle or Strymons. I don’t as I’m lazy and never want to carry two amps to a gig! I should do it at home though…
@@JeffMcErlain honestly I keep it set up that way at home but never gig it either. Actually I guess no one appreciates my really bad jokes. Mono board? Stereo effects? That's okay, my animals think I am hilarious!
A "favorite switch" for the Strymon gear is a no-brainer method of doubling the value of the their pedals. I have the Brigadiere and a Saturnworks favorite switch ($29). Add a TRS cable and you're good to go. And Jeff, thanks for the tip about holding down the tap tempo button for that "end of song bloom" effect. Never new it did that!!! (it does get loud, tho!!!)
3monkeys are good but incredibly expensive. When you have 40 pedals on a huge board, all going through a pedal patch bay... Thats 160 connectors at 8 bucks each. Plus cabling.
@@JeffMcErlain ive only ever tried the 3monkeys. When I combined everything into one epuc board i learned to solder and went the mogami/sp500 route. Still spent 400 bucks but now I know how to solder!
Its so expensive i would love to hear you on a intermediate rig, 500 guitar, 500 amp and a few boss pedals....you are a superb player so it should sound good anyway ❤
I know it’s expensive and as a result… I’ve been putting together a few budget pedal board ideas for upcoming videos. The real truth is I sound basically the same overall, lol.
Sounds amazing, as you ALWAYS do... I have a question tho... is it possible to get that wonderful univibe sound w a P90 guitar? (than a strat) ... all of us non strat guys would greatly appreciate your wisdom on that ....
Oh sure! I think the vibe and Strat thing is about Jimi/Trower. I use a vibe on all my guitars, but I think too much gain can make it unfocused. Also, placement and is bit. I put it before gain.
@@JeffMcErlain thank you for responding! Yeah, that trower sound is the one I love, guess I may just have to get a strat type guitar to fill my needs.. was just hoping I could hear you get some magic out of a univibe / P90 combination..
I see you have lights covered- guessing its for the video but if you always cover them read on - I hate those bright white pedal lights and found a cool way to deal with that they are called RockBoard LED Dampers - easy to google and cheap
@@mikegamby not sure if they will help - but the RockBoard LED dampers are cheap and stick on with a non corrosive adhesive backing and can be removed.

I still use them, I have found the vemuram pedals stack very well. Not saying the Kingsley’s don’t but I really like the Vemuram stuff. Also takes up a little less space!
He's OCD about the Sharpie on the edges that you don't see, but doesn't get the pedals lined up or spaced out properly on the top of the board that you do see!
Jeff’s tasteful playing on the intro totally upstages his new pedal board ❤

It was a pleasure meeting you at Namm, like I said, I’m buying this Vemuram because of you.

Jimmy is just an all-around great grounded guy. Cool of you to highlight his incredible work as well.
He’s the best!
I like the blue tape over the lights. My od1 shanks is blinding when I’m looking down at my board
It is! For any outdoor gigs (rare) I’ll tape the painters tape off.
Awesome, it's really enjoyable listening to the sounds you get out of that board.
Thank you !!
I might need to try out the solderless cables. My current cables could use some reorganization.

Thanks! It’s always the size vs those extra few pedals. Those would be awesome choices.
He didn’t sharpie the sides of the Velcro. It’s like he doesn’t even care…
lol!
I saw letters on the side of the cable... Fail!
I actually noticed that too, may as well have had the white from the adhesive matching the white on the velcro 🤣
Haha so sloppy
After doing all those lil squares he was fuck that I'm done lol
I like Jimmy. His son plays drums in Lorna Shore. And there is backroom in their shop for real business.

This has been my experience as well Jimmy.
Been using George L'S for over 20 years on my board.. NO Issues at all good enough for Eric Johnson works for me.
Could you share all of your el capistan settings exactly ? Like knobs etc ? For the presets on the multi switch
I wish I could! I don’t know what they are anymore as they have been saved as presets. I did it more by ear.

It’s a game or Tetris lining up the pedals with enough space for me to step on them. Perfectly spaced = bigger board.
