The scents there must be amazing 😊, a big part of the hypnotic quality of India is the constant incense & spices in the air, the inside of this market must be on a entirely next level of olfactory stimulation 😁
It would be interesting to know the rarest or most expensive flower there,
In the northeast hills of west bengal we bought fresh poppies before, opium poppies? 😁Maybe?

5:26- that's not coconut leaf dude that's banana leaf...It's actually pretty common in south india.Food served on the banana leaves absorbs the polyphenols which are said to prevent many lifestyle diseases. They are also said to have anti-bacterial properties that can possibly kill the germs in food. Having food on banana leaves is one of the most economical and inexpensive options to go for.

The Krishna Rajendra Market, named after our beloved King Sri Sri Krishna Rajendra Wodeyar.
I have lived in Bengaluru some five decades and have probably visited KR Market once with my grandfather in my childhood😅! I live about 3 kilometres away from it😅! You are missing out on the lovely middle class localities strewn all over which you would probably enjoy walking, but somewhat to my mild disappointment, you seem to be visiting only the old and run down parts of my city. But I guess it is what it is!
Back to the flowers, we need tons of them in loose and garland formats for decorating our Gods and temples, for our personal worship or Pooja at home, for our big fat weddings, for ladies ornamentation, for political rallies and functions (those huge heavy garlands are for felicitating major political leaders) and finally for offering it to dead bodies and their funerals. Its all about flowers and our lives will probably come to a standstill without them (and fruits)😊. Almost all girls of my generation know the art (yes, it is that) of making a garland, which is quite a skill to learn (aahh, those were the days🤗).
We cannot offer flowers to God once we have smelt them because that then means we have already accepted the flowers ahead of God. That is the reason the vendor gave a couple in your hands.
The green pumpkins are called Ash Gourd and are very tasty in Sambhar, I am sure you have had it in one of the many lunch Sambhars you've had. The breakfast Sambhar is a bit different and mostly does not contain much vegetables.
Those are not coconut leaves but banana leaves on which we savour our over-the-top festival lunches and marriage lunches.
The beetel leaves are a must for our worship and for human consumption, particularly in the semi urban and rural India. They don't make your teeth look good but preserve your teeth from cavities, plaque, etc., and never allow bad breath!! The tiny bit of Choona we take alongside the betel leaf and nut is pure Calcium and there is not a chance of Osteoporosis if you consume it for a considerable period in your life. I know you don't like Paan, but when in Bengaluru next, try MAGHAI PAAN (or even sweet paan perhaps) which might change your opinion of it.
The pointed mounds of yellow and red powder are the turmeric and vermillion that is anointed and offered to God in the temples and at home. Ladies (other than widows) aplly vermillion on their foreheads and married women apply it in the parting of their hair.
The brown round fruits you exclaimed at are CHIKOOs (also known locally as SAPOTA) and they are sweet like treacle and delightful to eat. Do try out a Chikoo Milkshake sometime, they are great and almost a meal by themselves.
Thanks for helping me relive the KR Market experience, which we only got to watch in movies these days! Kudos for another great video 🙏

I did not see the video fully, will surely do so. Your effort is highly appreciated. You seemed to have gone there quite late in the morning. What all of you have witnessed is not even 1% of the flower market. Asia's biggest or the world's biggest is another thing. The actual market of flowers starts around 3.30 am. The flower market literally overflows on the roads on the right of the market when you face North. That is another sight altogether. You have missed a tonne of flowers!
