The Pro, is an incredibly piece really. From day 1 to 1.5 year of ownership, can't complain. It is not odd like the P01. Wish they evolve the Pro though by adding crown guards, slimming it, adding a cyclops eye too. Yet, from Tudor, I would expect 2 things only: A. they discontinue it and focus on the other BBs plus Pelagos. B. Add a white dial to the current line and call it a day. Let's see :)
I sold my P01 because of its impractical wearability issues...just too big as a total lug to lug. I loved everything about that watch, its back story, even though it was rejected, its overall look which was totally unique...etc Now all that said, I think you're right about the BB Pro..it would be a shame if it doesn't have a v2 coming soon. Even just a simple diet in its thickness would sway many towards buying it...as far as the alterations you demonstrated in your render, well that would be a bonus if Tudor tweaked it ever so slightly. Excellent video as awlays brother 🥃
Isn't is strange how many Tudor's eventually lose their pull simply because of how strange they feel on the wrist? We're on the same wavelength in all of these departments brother and I hope you've had a stellar weekend! 🥃
It’s also about comparison, this watch is too thick for what Tudor inspires to be. Longings Zulu time 39mm is 1.5mm thinner and cheaper with the same cosc movement. They really have to slim down their gmt watches
Black Bay Pro could have been a very good watch if it never had Black Bay name. 200m water res kills the proportion of the watch. 100m res, 2mm thinner, you will have a winner.
My 1st and favorite Tudor. Hoping for a white dial since I’m not getting the call for the Exp II Polar. I’d love to see you mock that up. My AD says the BB Pro sells as fast as they arrive so it would be shocking if they were discontinued. 1-1.5mm thinner would probably make the waits even longer. And love my Steinhart homage to the 1655. Just like everything about it.
Agreed. I bought the pro to give it a try, and now I have to remember to wind all the other watches in my watch box because they rarely get any wrist time. How surprising that the imperfect Pro has so much indescribable charm
As always, well put together thoughts and designs. However, I like the Pro as it is, it just needs slimming down and some curvature to make it less Monoblock, then I'd jump on it! But I can't see Tudor doing anything with it other than bringing out a white dial version to milk this model further, at least for now.
As an owner of BB Pro I'd like to express my opinion. I don't mind the thickness, nor the extra yellow text - as it is my daily watch, these both things don't bother me. I love the overall design, the comfort, the monochromatic look, the accuracy, and ligibility - mostly. The yellow GMT hand mixes a bit too much with hour and minute hands, making it a bit less legible that I'd desire. If they made the whole GMT hand black and just left the tip yellow, that would be just perfect. Personally I think the indexes are well proportioned. In addition even though the lume is decent, there are microbrands doing a way better job with luminescence.
I own a BB Pro. My wrist is just under 7 inches. The whole ‘it’s too thick’ narrative is a little laughable actually - it wears like a chunky dive watch - that’s the desired look it’s aiming for, if you don’t like sportier pieces then it’s not for you simply - buy a skin diver (I have an Oris 65 for this type of look and feel). The Pro sits alongside my Willard and CW Trident 600 as a more rugged/purposeful watch in my collection. I honestly worry about people’s state of mind (or general physical capabilities) when they say it’s not wearable all day due to thickness and heft. It’s no less wearable or noticeable on my wrist all day than my Cartier Santos or even my MoonSwatch! ‘Shave 3mm off and I’ll open my wallet’. No. Go buy a BB54 instead if that what you want. Or A Longines Zulu GMT. It’s like saying - make the Seiko Arnie 37mm and I’ll buy it. Then it’s not an Arnie.
Anyone who actually wears a watch for sport would realise pretty quickly a smaller thinner watch makes a lot more sense. My sub is my daily, but my Explorer 36 is my sports watch. Wearing my sub while playing tennis, climbing, hiking, running, skydiving etc is uncomfortable and clunky. “Sports” watch should be tiny and thin so it doesn’t snag and get in the way.
I 100% agree with you, it’s a brilliant watch that is not too thick, it’s a load of internet nonsense. People are expecting a Rolex Explorer 2 for a third of the money, it’s totally unrealistic. The Pro is my most worn watch and I have a large collection of Rolex’s.
The black bay pro is really a sexy watch, the size and the colour.. know Tudor should make it in a white dial and orange hand. Make it a bit thinner and you have a winner…. I have the black bay pro and you don’t notice the thickness. I’am a big guy… Tudor make it in a white dial I’ll be at the dealer. Keep the size 39 mm is the size right know to me… 👍 god dame it’s a good looking watch. Look out Rolex…39 mm just saying. 🙏
I had this watch, but sold it because I couldn't get used to three moving snow flakes on the dial. Checking time at a glance was problematic for me. I like your mods, but it needs to loose the snow flake on the seconds hand. Respectfully.
Great perspective on this interesting and unique timepiece. I'm a new owner and a big fan. This has become my daily wearer, replacing all the other pieces. I recommend to try it on before deciding if it's too thick.
You've Sir created a timeless design of BB Pro! If Tudor would ever consider this, I would take it immediately. Looks much more balanced, I'd dare to say equally charming as 1655
I sold my BB Pro simply because it was too thick and chunky. I still think it looks great, but it feels like you wear a block of metal on your wrist. If they could slim it down to about 12mm, I would immediately buy it again. Wouldn't change much for the rest. Perhaps slightly increase the hour markers, but I wouldn't change the hands. With the two lines of white text and the crown guards, you really seem to be turning it into an Explorer 2.
The original issue with the BB Pro is that it's a slab of a watch, which TBH is often Tudor anyway. I passed on one, but should have purchased when offered and flipped like the P39 and then purchased something truely awesome from my prefered AD.
Great video as always. I agree on many things you proposed but not on size of markers and hands ( could be bigger but a bit too big in your design imo ). But until we don't get new thinner GMT movement from Tudor I don't expect any novelties on this model, rather discontinuation
Really digging your rendition. I love this piece, I think it could be the foundation of a great two-piece Tudor collection paired with an updated Royal or a new Prince. When, they slim it down, I’ll be all over it. Great video, cheers 🥃
This watch was just launched last year and you're already talking about it getting discontinued or overhauled? I don't see any of this happening at all. The only thing I could see Tudor doing is trying to slim it down a bit.
Wow. You nailed it. But until it’s under 12mm thick it will always be a big pass for me. I don’t get it because literally 90% of the complaints about Tudor are thickness (BB58 and 54 excluded). If Tudor looked at any feedback they’d see this. Before they innovate further they should focus on innovating the thickness of their watches. It’s like trying to make sexier lines on a car or create the most amazing 14” screen on the interior or better seats etc when the car still has square wheels. If they can get a hold of the crazy thickness they will have truly entered top-tier in my opinion. That’s why sold my BBGMT and pelagos and why I bought the BB54. It’s perfect.
I’m glad Tudor brought this model out. With the Rolex Explorer 2 long being a favorite of mine, this watch certainly has my attention and I think it is well positioned to incorporate at least some if not all of the changes you mentioned. Tudor is my favorite tool watch brand. 🥃
Hope that the Black Bay Pro has plenty of mileage ahead of it. A fantastic reinterpretation for a Mk2.0 but feel a 5 link bracelet would detract from the ruggedness of the tool watch design. White Dial is surely the best way forward. Shame as much as I like the Pro 41mm is my Nirvana.
I don’t care where they are going with the bb. Most Tudor watches to me have something not quite right, I think my brain always tells me it’s a slightly cheaper Tag H esk like copy. Anything that needs David Beckham to sell for you is not something I need.Good things sell themselves. And nothing really other than the fxd is exciting to me. Sorry I’m that out today😂. Good video as always. Love watching.
Hate to say it, but the FXD still is the only Tudor I really want to own... and I'm kinda torn with the BB (for many reasons) so I 100% know how you feel 😉
As always another great video. Oddly enough the BBPro never struck the bell for me. With that said, GMT's are not on my radar. It's a wonderful complication, and maybe if I traveled more it would mean more. Honestly If I was travelling across time zones, I would just look at my Iphone ( Blasphemy... I know !?! ) Yes, Tudor does have the "Slab of Steel" problem, and although I never consider myself suave or debonair I do find chunky watches less appealing. I feel the BBPro is just another reaction to what the market is producing. You can't buy an Explorer 2, so Tudor will fill that gap, and why not ? They are in business to make watches to sell. Tudor will continue to benefit, I.E. build gap watches, due to the blackhole known as Rolex. I love Rolex, I feel they are genius, probably the greatest marketing ever. I also love Tudor, seizing an opportunity that is evident. Great management on both sides.
My thoughts exactly! Had a whole section on a white dial that I removed to streamline the clip a bit 😆 A white dial feels more like the natural progression at the moment, right? 🥃
Its definitely going to happen (had an entire section on a white dial that I cut to make it a bit more streamlined) - the white dial will be the last addition for this generation before moving to the next 😉
Been wearing the BB Pro almost exclusively for the past 2 months. Gotta admit, as a lover of rather shiny and gaudy watches (love my two tone DJ), the Pro wasn’t love at first sight for me. But my significant other loves so I took the plunge. It’s now my favorite due to its wearability, accuracy and understated handsomeness. I’d buy V2 in a heartbeat if it looked like your rendering.
I miss the Tudor North Flag days of uniqueness, which the P01 also inherited and reminds us of the Heritage Advisor Chronograph period of Tudor's resurgence. Unfortunately, Tudor are now being too safe, pivoting on just their popular models. I adore my North Flag, and still foolishly hope for a new update with a METAS calibre...
I also would like Tudor to take more risks. They are advertising themselves as a bold brand, "born to dare", but they put out 50 versions of a black dial black bay without batting an eyelid. They are pretty boring through and through
I have multiple Tudors. My Pro is my favorite. Thin the case with the new GMT calibre, give us a black dial and white dial option. Make the GMT hand a true ORANGE snowflake. That’d be perfection. Give us the option of a 5 link, fully brushed with polished sides bracelet, and I’ll buy all 4 variations.
Very interesting video. Other than for marketing purposes what , if anything, makes a watch “ Pro “ ? Someone, please, talk me through this nonsense…..
The BBPro was initially bypassed by me because I thought it was too small and just an unwed Ed iteration of my BBGMT. Boy, was I wrong. I tried it on and it was all over. What a great watch in its own right. Little improvements would be appreciated along with all the lines of black bay. Things I’d like to see, ceramic bezels and crown guards.
I really love the design and look of the Tudor BB Pro. As soon as I saw it on the window when I was traveling, it was an immediate purchase. Unfortunately I just sold it after 10 months. The watch is top heavy similarly to the BB GMT. They really should toss out that GMT movement. It’s heavy, thick, and I keep hearing issues of the date issues similar to BB GMT. They just need to make a thinner, lighter movement and add the polar dial. And they have an even bigger sellers. Tudor mentioned that they listen to their customers. I think these comments have been the loudest for this line.
I bought the Pro in March but even with a 8" wrist, the thickness felt excessive. More the design of the side of the case than the actual thickness. I have a 16600 SD that feels more proportionate. Do the Pro with a 3-part case and flat crystal and I think it could feel much thinner
It's a real pity that a great watch can be marred by it's thickness. It's something that's definitely hurting how many of these watches are seen (and I'm sure Tudor know it) Also... the 16600 was the SD I first fell in love with. Such an under the radar gem... I need to spotlight this ref and the SD4k. Amazing pieces 🥃
@@ID-Guy oh mate, I loved your SD videos and you briefly touched on the 16600, but a full video would be amazing. Imho the swan song of 'tool-watch' Rolex.
The design is sublime. Mine is a 5 year old 42mm, ETA 2893-2 Steinhart with faux patina. I love it to death. I really put it through its paces down here in South Florida.
1. I think the BB Pro is a top 2 tudor watch along with the pelagos. And this is coming from someone who owns the BB GMT pepsi. The Pro has a bit more character than my piece. 2. I dont see them discontinuing the Pro. So much so that i am surprised thats even a question or discussion. I believe the progression is likely to include a white dial, a thinner case, a METAS movement, and maybe a 5 link bracelet. 3. I love three lines of text on tudor dials. I have that on my GMT and its a good use of the space. 2 lines of text creates negative space, which you dont like, so im surprised you suggested that. I dont think enlarging the baton at the 6 is a good enough counter to losing a line of text. 4. I like your idea of enlarging the hour hand. You also mention this suggestion in your longines legend diver video. I cant unsee it now, particularly as a legend diver owner. 5. Youve become one of my favorite watch channels. Keep up the good work.
Love the redesign. I’d add one more slight change - make the GMT hand bit more ‘orange’. I owned the BB Pro and one of weird quirks I found is upon quick glance and in certain lights, the GMT hand would be a very similar colour to the other hands and so it would be very jarring. A slightly stronger ‘orange’ would be perfect IMO.
Great, compelling take and vid. i hope you are right, that it stays around. I would like to see a thinner movement/watch, not so sure I agree re: the 12, 6 and 9. I would meet you half way there. Have the heritage red bb, and heritage bb58. Would not want the pro in titanium, unless grade 5. Def needs to be all brushed, maybe with some chamfered polishing. That’s my two cents anyway. Cheers!
I am a watch collector who likes Explorer 2 watches. As a result, I have to purchase the legacy Explorer 2 which is Tudor BB Pro as well as the modern Explorer 2. Both Explorer 2 are attractive to me than GMT. I am preparing to replace the stainless bracelet with Tudor original rubber strap which is from a Pelagos.
Have to completely disagree regarding making the arrow at 12, the indices at 3, 6, 9 larger. Your turning it into a complete copy of the Rolex! It's needs to remain a Tudor, with inspiration taken but don't copy to a T! Imo that would completely take away from it being what it is, inspired by, not a damn copy. If you want a copy then go by a copy of the Rolex! Lets not turn the Pro into a copy! Only changes needed, thinner, although the thickness is a complete non-issue but would make it that much better, and different dial colors. And no not white! Tudor needs to be adventurous, something like blue or even brown! I hope they don't go the safe boring route and release a white dial and just follow big brother. Make the Pro standout even more, that's not going to happen by copying the original and every little dial feature. Yawn!!
Come to think of it ..... When does your first watch come out? Can I pre-order? You must be thinking of it. Then there's the moving bezel on a GMT. Rolex doesn't print an additional 24h scale on its dials like many other manufacturers do so using the GMT function in a quick glance prohibits moving the bezel because one needs the 24h scale there to be able to read a second time zone. Nobody can read time in a glance just imagining the 24h scale where it's not.
Hopefully they won't release a polar white dial version, but an off white, eggshell color dial would be amazing, especially if the whole dial was made of luminous ceramic, like the indexes of the current model.
I dont know when people compare the BB Pro to the 1655 I dont really see it, look honestly at 6:12 in a still frame, its the bezel that is the same, apart from that, not the same hands, no cyclopse, not the same dial, not the same hour markers, not even close, the bezel is carrying all the resemblence and it looks like that is what most people identify but really its not like the 1655.
id love Tudor to improve its GMT and the thickness. Rolex GMT 2 is my grail... but I am afraid it will have to wait. I said ill buy it only once I reach a certain professional level. So this would be perfect and I think it would be perfect for many people. Tudor is doing a great job in so many ways they just need to add this too
I like what you did with your interpretation of the gmt. But with the date you left it wanting. 6 beefed up. 9 beefed up. 12o’clocked beefed up. 3 o’clock ignored.
The way the North Flag was rejected by most it's not surprising Tudor stick to vintage Rolex vibes in their watches. Looking at it now it should have been more successful, I like a lot of your tweaks but I'm sure big brother will not allow them to go as close as you'd like. I own several Tudors. As you say the similar designs of the sport models are such that with a squint they all begin to look alike. For me to buy another they need to do something different. If they suddenly came up with much slimmer movements and reissues of the present successful models I'd be a bit miffed. Given how much has been spent on Tudors by others I doubt I'd be alone.
I'm a huge Tudor fan. I have the BB Harrods, I have the BB58, the BB Chrono & I have the Palagos 42mm. I've always liked the look of the Pro as its so unique, but I'm waiting on the next reiteration until I pull the trigger. I do think the thickness of the range is not just because of the movement but more so to keep them very separate to Rolex. Because of that I doubt we'll see anything thinner on anything larger than the 54 which doesn't compete with a Rolex due to its case size.
Hey man. Don't really have to comment anything at this point. Just getting the algorithm running I guess. Nothing but praise from my end for your videos. Take care and best wishes.
Looks nice overall but I just do not like yellow anything so i am out . I know orange cliché but it works so well in the exp 2 it is hard to come up with anything better . But this watch more than anything needs to slim down even reduce the depth rating to 100m to achieve it . 100m is more than nuf
It's far too tall and slab sided for a smaller diameter watch, and the lack of crown guards doesn't scream tool watch to me. I white dial version could rekindle the fading interest in the model. I don't care for the snowflake hands at all, on this model. Explorer II looks much more polished IMO, and is both larger and thinner - both of which appeal to me.
I’d take it a step further and I’d be interested to see a Pelagos GMT. Titanium case and bracelet, and the pelagos dial with the square indices. I almost think that would look better.
I really wanted one. But then I went to the store ready to hand my creditcard. I decided not to. However great the design it is just to fat. It’s wearable but I thought I would grow to be disturbed by it. Luckily I fell in love with the black bay 39 in blue and been wearing it every day.
A top and bottom chamfer on the currently slab sided case, would go a long way to ease the fat aesthetic? I own the Pro and I really enjoy wearing it….but just a tweak on the slab sides would make this a perfect tool watch
Geez putting it into the Pelagos case is an interesting thought. I think they'd go with a design more closely associated with the current pelagos line up if they did that, but a slimmer and more wearable bb pro is a nice prospect.
Agree with a white dial in some of the comments. The Pepsi opaline GMT Tudor is fantastic. That model and the Black Bay Pro are both thick watches. Need to get it on my wrist to see if it is worth it.
Love these videos, and I love that watch, thank you! What are your thoughts on drilled lugs? Do you think they're a thing of the past? I love the Explorer II era of drilled lugs where it still felt like a legit tool watch. I always wonder if they'll make a comeback.
Must say, having just bought a beautiful, stunning watch (that'll probably be reviewed next week) I had forgotten how fantastic drilled lugs are... they do feel like a thing of the past with modern Rolex, Tudor & Omega. It's almost like they don't want to be viewed "that way" right? Odd 🥃
I didn't even know this existed! Definitely some details to unpack (looks like a larger BB54 in a lot of ways) - might do a render video in a few weeks around it! Thank you for bringing it to my attention brother! 🥃
I think if they slim down that movement, they will definitely have my money, I love that design its just to thick mind you. I have never handled it, so

@@emmanueltsI5what you want a revival of the explorer 1655, Tudor cannot do that or they'll be competing with the big brother
Show me a Black Bay Pro with a white dial and I'll show you my credit card 💸💸💸
I was considering doing a white dial (but ran out of time) - these weekly videos man 😆 Agreed though! A white dial would spice up this range nicely!
A polar BB Pro with an orange GMT hand yes please!
show me a black bay pro that doesn't have the thickness of the hunchback of notre dame and I'll show you my credit card.
Id take a matte british racing green dial tho, but to be fair I already have a polar exp2
I personally can't stand white dials. Legibility is terrible unless they have black outlines on indices and hands, and then they are too stormtrooper.

It's will be interesting to see your thoughts on Breitling new Avenger re design
First impressions when seeing them: really liking the streamlining! I’m going to look into them more over the weekend 😉🥃
I agree, they won’t update the design for 4-5 years at least
I miss my north flag NEVER should of sold it
can you play the guitar and sing a song for us in one of your videos?
I come here 50% for the great watch content and unique approach to watch YouTubing, and 50% for IDGuy’s spectacular hair.
Appreciate it Prof 😉 It does have a mind of its own, I'm convinced... the most inconsistent hair on the platform...
Love watching.
bb = big beautiful ?
Hate to say it, but the FXD still is the only Tudor I really want to own... and I'm kinda torn with the BB (for many reasons) so I 100% know how you feel 😉
Would love it at 13mm or thinner at a white dial
As always another great video.
Oddly enough the BBPro never struck the bell for me. With that said, GMT's are not on my radar. It's a wonderful complication, and maybe if I traveled more it would mean more. Honestly If I was travelling across time zones, I would just look at my Iphone ( Blasphemy... I know !?! )
Yes, Tudor does have the "Slab of Steel" problem, and although I never consider myself suave or debonair I do find chunky watches less appealing.
Great video brother, I think also a slimmer profile and a titanium case and bracelet with a white cleaner dial, that would be a hit 👍🏽👍🏽
My thoughts exactly! Had a whole section on a white dial that I removed to streamline the clip a bit 😆 A white dial feels more like the natural progression at the moment, right? 🥃
@@ID-Guy Exactly 😁👍🏽
I always think pure white dial watches like these look cheap. Off-white/cream would look nice, I think.
It's one area that's woefully ignored, cream dials would offer so much more "depth" to a model - agree 100% 🥃
It seems like a release of a white ‘polar’ dial for this model would be a no-brainer.
Its definitely going to happen (had an entire section on a white dial that I cut to make it a bit more streamlined) - the white dial will be the last addition for this generation before moving to the next 😉
still deciding between this one and the bb58
You have to be a Pro to wear a Pro, plain and simple! 😆 maybe it stands for "PROficient" and we've been lied to??
@@ID-Guy prolapse ?
I am actually deciding on the BBP or the Omega broad arrow 1957 now … decision decision 🤔
I'd always say Omega Broad Arrow given the choices... but maybe I'm the wrong person to ask 😉
@@ID-Guy yea I am thinking the same thing as well since I already have a sub and I just love the 3313 movement 🤩
The design is sublime. Mine is a 5 year old 42mm, ETA 2893-2 Steinhart with faux patina. I love it to death. I really put it through its paces down here in South Florida.
Make it white, make it thinner and I'll sell my family to buy it
That's the spirit! 😆🥃
Tudor ....meh...its B-class luxury, a pretender...it will never be the king!
Tudor is doing a great job in so many ways they just need to add this too
Love your content … greetings
They’re gonna have to with competitors upping their game
Hey man. Don't really have to comment anything at this point. Just getting the algorithm running I guess. Nothing but praise from my end for your videos. Take care and best wishes.
Just like it is 2 mm thinner
For my 8” wrist I still prefer the 41mm Heritage Black Bay with the steel bezel, M79730-0006.
Looks nice overall but I just do not like yellow anything so i am out . I know orange cliché but it works so well in the exp 2 it is hard to come up with anything better . But this watch more than anything needs to slim down even reduce the depth rating to 100m to achieve it . 100m is more than nuf
A new GMT movement? Yeah, that might take a while...
Interesting design though but your indices are a tad large for my taste
Amaizing watch. One downside is price😂
Alas, prices keep climbing and climbing… my rationale is always hunting down great second hand pieces 🥃
The BB Pro is with out a doubt my next watch. I’ve loved it since I first tried it on.
its just too thick.Beautiful otherwise
@@steelsteez6118 agreed, thankfully I have tricked myself into seeing it otherwise.. who knows, they might slim it down by the time I’ll buy it!
I just want it thinner tbh. Take it down 2mm and we're set. The other changes you made aren't bad, but the thickness is my only current dealbreaker.
Odd 🥃
Great iteration! They defo need a white dial version with your tweaks. Titanium would be epic and differentiated.
8mm thick movement. That's nuts. That's my problem with most Tudors, just too thick
Crazy to think, right? How they managed it is a feat in itself 😆🥃
LOL
White dial, metas movement, thinner case like the 58 GMT, t-fit clasp and they can take my money
Excellent!
Maybe black dlc bazel and diferent colors of the dial black, white, yellow, grean, blu etc.
No comment on the leaked new Black Bay 58 in Esquire?
I didn't even know this existed! Definitely some details to unpack (looks like a larger BB54 in a lot of ways) - might do a render video in a few weeks around it! Thank you for bringing it to my attention brother! 🥃
@@ID-Guy looking forward to your opinion 😊 Also for that green box video! 🧐
This would be a great BBP, nice upgrade!
Some very "unlikely" ideas to put into the BB (crown guards etc) but hey, we can dream 😉
BB 41 w anthracite dial is their lushest, most beautiful piece they carry..love it on
The Tudor Ranger did not replace the North Flag . It ran concurrently with it. The Ranger replaced the heritage Ranger.
Id say the Pelagos will get an GMT Variant and the Pro will be discontinued.
I think if they slim down that movement, they will definitely have my money, I love that design its just to thick mind you. I have never handled it, so
want to hear your opinion on the new Longines & Hodinkee collab Spirit Zulu Time
What about lollipop seconds hand, stick hour hand, and more pronounced gmt hand
I am waiting on exactly the model you created!!! If this turns into reality, they can have my money!
