You also both have the best memory I can barely remember yesterday and you two remember when you got each and every doll. This is my favorite doll channel too !
Shelley, you are truely an official Doll Doctor! The work and transformation is incredible on these Dolls! Your videos are also so inspirational and help me get motivated! Thank you very much! 👏
I love the dolly transformation videos, it always amazes me how much time and effort you put into fixing and making over dolls most people would write off. My favourites were the Hawaiian Barbies they have such beautiful faces.💜
Hi, I've been watching you for about a year now. Your channel, your/Colleen's collections and restorations are a huge inspiration to me and I'm so happy i can finally leave you a comment to say this! 😅 keep on keeping on!
Omg I was born in 1986 and when you said your precious Cabbie was pushing 40 I cringed! Hahahaha!!! 😂😂😂😂 I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Super entertaining! So happy you turned your comments back on. 😊😊
He is an icon! It's cute that your Siamese cats like dolls too. Oliver is such a pain whenever they are out--rolling around, rubbing his face, trying to chew ha ha :)
I didn't realize one of the dresses was Maxie! Thanks for the info! I only have one other transformation video waiting to go up. After that, I'm not sure how many I'll be able to post since it will depend on what I find this year at the flea market :)
Seeing dolls come back to life is so relaxing, and I will have to try the peroxide treatment on hair for a severely marker stained Ever After High doll I thrifted. Making a wrap in the style of mummy bandages would be a good way to accessorize Nefera or Cleo dolls with broken/misshapen limbs
Thank you! I'm glad my dolly commentary can be comforting background noise :) I have such a slow heat response. I can't tell you how many times I have burned myself because I didn't realize how hot something was--will literally hit my hand on the inside of the wood stove and not feel a thing ha ha!
Watch your videos is a therapy and relaxing time for me! Thank you so much for teaching us your wonderful techniques and of course your beautiful collection! ❤
I am so glad we can comment ❤ I love watching your videos , your love for dolls and the story behind it them really makes me enjoy your channel more, thank you ❤
The brow touch up! *chef kiss* I struggle with brows, so none of my girls have them if they are rubbed off. They get bangs or pretty hats! But that is so smart to use chalk! It looks so good! Thanks for the tip!
Thank you! Eyebrows are the hardest thing to paint for me. The pastels definitely are easier to build up without looking chunky. I just put a little bit of sealer down first (so the pastels have something to grip to). Then you just wet the paintbrush and rub it on the pastel, and paint with it. Once it dries and you seal it, it is just as durable as paint :)
Omg your comment section is finally unlocked, your vids are pretty much the reason I've been able to properly clean and fix my dolls, as well as to get rid of any unwanted smells on their bodies and clothing because who knows where those dolls had been before ending up in my hands, loveee your videos
I absolutely love your videos! I watch some of them many times over to make sure I’m doing it right. I ALWAYS come back to yours for important info on how to do things. much love………Linda
With the cabbie loops. You can put a pencil through the loops of the hair when defuzzing😅 and the if you spray a little starch (like the kind you iron with) on the loop right after, the all stand up and look amazing! Just a little cabbie tip I learned somewhere 😂 😊
ASMR dollie cleaning at the beginning, love! Thank you for the video, Dollies came out beautifully! My back kills me after a while so I started sitting in the tub with two cleaning buckets and standing for the boil wash. I can do 10 dolls if I do that method. 😊
Thank you! I know a lot of people like the sounds of doll cleaning, so I try to include it when I can. I'm glad you found a way to do the boil washes without killing your back. I had a problem standing to do it a few years back after I messed up my knees.
Hey beautiful!! I hope you, your sister, and your fur babies are doing well!! I wanted to email you guys and check in but I didnt know if that was too weird or not lol!! So I'm happy the comments are back on. I gave alot of catching up to do on your videos!!
Love your dolly transformations. Tthey're so gratifying, so much fun to watch & so rewarding & worthwhile after all the tedious work you put into grooming them in the end. 🫶🏼💜🩷🩵Does Mr. Oliver like to cuddle up on the dolls? Or does he like to rub against/scentmark or chew on them ? 🤭
Thank you! Mr. Oliver likes to do all three--cuddle, rub, and chew. He especially likes tulle--he has fun playing with that, but of course we have to keep an eye on him ha ha :)
Okay, here's my random question I've been dying to ask while comments were off: what is your music genre of choice while working on your dolls? I always see the headphones and my curiosity is off the chart. 😂
If you soak them in Oxi Clean (or any oxygen based cleaner) that takes care of the stickiness. I do it all the time for sticky shoes, accessories, doll heads, etc and it works great :)
hey i feel like you are the doll aficionado so i have a question I have a bratz doll with a very wobbly head. her head is wobbily because the neckholes have two cracks on them. how do you think i should go about fixing it? can you post a tutorial or something
The neck has cracks or the head has split? Usually heads get wobbly from the joint inside getting stressed from age (which is where tying the fish line around it comes into play). But if there are cracks on the neck that are causing the issue, then you would want to patch them. I have a tutorial on that already :) If the head has tears in it, then you would want to use a flexible glue to repair the tears.
You will need a flexible glue, and just use a toothpick to apply it to the splits :) This is the brand I've used in the past for such repairs: www.amazon.com/Loctite-Plastic-Adhesive-1-Ounce-1360694/dp/B001F7E9VI/ref=asc_df_B001F7E9VI/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198142582501&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14986058158224766926&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001830&hvtargid=pla-352793682230&psc=1&mcid=9c7dfae7f87132c5bc93b13e978a4e6b&gclid=CjwKCAiA2pyuBhBKEiwApLaIO8QUcdPUmYfAdsMhZStBgCNw9bbKujrzQyVFP6ZqS00HHEraK8D6JxoCteIQAvD_BwE The brand doesn't matter, as long as it is made for rubber, vinyl, etc. it will work (you want it to be flexible, so the head can still squish--regular super glue dries hard).
No, you want a glue that dries flexibly, because you need to repair the fleshy head. A hard glue like e6000 will make the bottom of her head crunchy, and the tear will just happen again since the glue can't move around with her head (I've had that issue several times when I tried using glues that dry hard).
I have a Barbie Jewel mermaid doll and would like to wash her outfit. Do you know if it can be washed or is the material something you wouldn't want to put into water. I got her in a box, but she smells a little musty.
I've washed my Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie and Midge outfits and they were fine. I would just recommend not letting it soak too long, since that metallic material is a little more delicate :)
I've always just used regular laundry detergent (I make my own, but you can use any kind you have). So just a little bit of detergent in cold water should do :)
Silver eye isn't caused by water. It's a factory defect that happened in Pleasant Company dolls when the decal inside was faulty and peeled. You'll see boxed dolls from the 80s/90s who were never touched have it. Raven (doll in the video) is made by Mattel, so she isn't at risk. I did use a blow dryer on the cold setting to get all the water out, I just didn't show it. I had no other choice to get her eyes a little wet because the makeup was on top of her eye lid too. But she is fine--I filmed this like a year ago, and she still has perfect eyes :)
@@AThousandSplendidDolls Thank you for that information!! I had no idea. Good to know Raven still has her eyeballs intact. I loved watching this video. Do you know if Pleasant Company is still in business?
I was going to buy another Frankie Stein doll only for the body, because my reproduction Frankie her head along with her neck peg fell off the body. Luckily I had a spare body that was found in the garage so now she’s complete.
I love your transformation videos but I'd like to see you go back to mostly voice over instead of captions. I like to watch in the background and and with captions that's difficult without missing things. but ultimately, it's your channel do whatever you like, no pressure haha! oh and the dolls look positively gorgeous!!!
Thank you! I try to mix it up--I have a bunch of people who like just hearing the sounds of the cleaning, which is why I sometimes put captions in instead :) But I definitely still will do voice overs, especially if I have music on in the background or something.
You also both have the best memory I can barely remember yesterday and you two remember when you got each and every doll. This is my favorite doll channel too !
Aw, thank you! It does help us that we keep track of where/when we got dollies on Flickr, because if my memory gets hazy I can go back and check :)

You do such a great job making up these dollies. It inspires me to take in more second-hand dolls myself :)

I rehab dolls for charity donation and have learned so much from your videos. Thank you so much!😊

Okay, here's my random question I've been dying to ask while comments were off: what is your music genre of choice while working on your dolls? I always see the headphones and my curiosity is off the chart. 😂
I'm actually listening to TH-cam videos most of the time :) When I do listen to music, it's random genres depending on my mood.
How do you get the sticky feel off of doll shoes and a horse saddle? I have washed them with dish soap, but it still feels sticky.
