I am so happy Ivon said that he though we could only use it to find the area under a curve. Was having the exact same question throughout the video hahaha!
Hi why are we setting y=0? hi I'm back 15 seconds later and i figured it out so y=x³-8 at y=0 we want the point of intersection which is x, so we just calculate x by using y=0 and that allows us to obtain the area under the curve from 0 to 2.
hi teacher , im confused and unsure as to why you had to integrate them again… since that wasnt even a dy/dx expression..or are we just always expected to integrate it
In this case, you know to integrate it, because it asks for AREA bounded by the curve and the two axes. Integration is defined from the signed area under the curve.
Because you can multiply by 1 in a fancy way, to work with x/(-1), and clear the negative from the denominator. x/(-1) * (-1)/(-1) = (-1*x)/(-1 * -1) Since a negative times a negative is a positive, this clears the negative from the denominator: (-1*x)/(-1 * -1) = -1*x / (+1) Simplify, and we are left with x/(-1) = -x. This procedure allows us to divide by any negative number, and re-write it in terms of division by a positive number.
So ``Find the area bounded by the region`` is just another way of saying `find the absolute value` - it's always positive. Then isn`t sketching curve in order to find area is under x, kind of redundant?
I like you, your teachings are so perfect, no need of re-watching the video coz I understand it perfectly. I wish you were my teacher
i love this guy. proper explanation and a pokemon reference 10/10
Really good video, mate. Very easy to follow along and now I feel much more confident on these problems!
Thank you. The visual really made it more concrete. Thank you.
I don't mind years of online learning if teachers teach like that 🙌🙌
Just found this channel and im loving it

Putting a negative sign before the Integral sign. Thank you for teaching me something new today Eddie 👍🏼
sir your teaching style is addictive .....too good!!
I wish I knew about your channel years ago, when I was studying for my actuarial exams. Thanks Eddie!
I feel so superior studying in the Indian system that i did this mentally in seconds
You helped me to get my A in maths, thank you.🤝🥺❤
Mr Eddie ........ well done,,,,,, you are so amazing
I found this channel a short while ago, watched one of the videos, and immediately subscribed! :-)
YOU DID I WAY WAY BETTTER TO MY TEACHER!! THANKS FOR MAKING IT EASIER FOR ME.
this helps a lot i wish ure my math teacher
thank u for ur work .Plzz do continue to do more videos
I just saved a lot of time, thank you so much!
Thank you for your work!
What software are you using for the notes? It's so good!!
He's using Notability on an iPad 🙂
Thank you mr woo
Excellent video! Thanks so much for the help
I like the acronym. Thanks
Thanks sir for this videos .
You are awesome Eddie
Dopamine has increased by 1/0 percent after watching your videos...........
Hi why are we setting y=0?

at y=0

how can you figure out which is an upper/lower curve when you don't know what the graph will look like
Why is it x=2? 2:45

@@carultch thank you!!!
What app and you writing this on please?
what is the answer for the last question?
Sir -1 is less than 0 than why x÷(-1) is defined but x÷0 is not defined
you don't divide by 0
Because you can multiply by 1 in a fancy way, to work with x/(-1), and clear the negative from the denominator.
x/(-1) * (-1)/(-1) = (-1*x)/(-1 * -1)
Since a negative times a negative is a positive, this clears the negative from the denominator:
(-1*x)/(-1 * -1) = -1*x / (+1)
Simplify, and we are left with x/(-1) = -x.

Nice video
How do u know how to sketch
How is it 2😢
I wish you where my teacher
It is like the chall relation but here we have the curve instead
Your patience though..
Hellow fellow Earthlings
5:48 like pokemon XD a wild negative sign appeared

Sir can u plz tell the solution of
Area btwn the curves Y=x^2+5 and y=x^3 and the lines x=1 and x=2
Can you maybe do videos for younger students?
he can’t
unless he teachers younger age groups
