MGUS asymptomatic? I was diagnosed with MGUS last year and have had excruciating bone pain for the past 4 years. I will be going for a 2nd opinion at another hospital as I keep hearing that I shouldn't be having this much pain, weight loss, nausea, etc.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us!
Depending on your precursor condition (MGUS or SMM) we need to check for different thresholds. For SMM a Serum M-protein ≥3 g/dL, or urine M-protein ≥ 500 mg/dl or clonal bone marrow plasma cells 10-60% WITH absence of myeloma-defining events (SLiM CRAB) means you are still under that condition and have not developed myeloma. For MGUS, Serum M-protein < 3 g/dL,

Agent Orange has been linked to Multiple Myeloma. Talk to a myeloma specialist in your area to learn more if you feel like you have the symptoms.
