What a truly tragic story The Piano had. Thank you for posting music from the score. There is absolutely nothing wrong with music, it is far more flawless than the best diamond. But when you add the world into it via a film score and such, it becomes tainted by the world and loses much if not everything. Music alone is better, nothing evil or foreboding or controversial to muck it up.
Thanks so much for your precious opinion! I think I hear what you say. Great music always speak more than words and nothing needed to be added. At the same time, I grew up watching films which influenced my way of looking at the world and film remains as one of my favorite art forms. Controversies, taboo, the dark side of the human beings often become the theme of films and it’s an opportunity to give a thought about them and explore human behaviors as such, though sometimes the ways they are depicted are over the top. For example, I don’t necessarily see The Piano as a tragedy, rather an opposite. Also whatever happens in a film you don’t always have to take it literally instead you can interpret it metaphorically. To me, The Piano is like an adult fairytale or a modern Greek mythology. Finally, partly the reason why I’m posting these videos is that I want to build a bridge between the film lovers (who aren’t yet into classic music) and music lovers (who aren’t yet much into films.) so, there you go.
