I love that color. I purchased one of these (smaller size) with a zoom nib. It's a fun pen. I agree it would be nice to see this color as a Realo. My larger Sailor 1911 is a Realo, but it had to be red.
You're far too young, but for some reason, that [pastel?] color really reminds me of the extremely popular colors associated with the late 1950's. It triggers something very nostalgic and pleasing in me that I can't quite put my finger on. Thanks for reviewing it. -- Besides that, I am becoming jealous of your skill with stub nibs. My attempts look nothing like yours! (I know, I know: practice practice practice...) :)
Hi Stephen! Great review! I just received my Sailor 1911 large Maroon with a music nib from Anderson pens today. I already have a 1911 large Fresca with a broad nib and one in Anchor Grey with a zoom. So far, I am quite impressed with the music nib. It's a very smooth writer. I just feel that I need to play with it more before I get it to work at it's full potential. Btw, this purchase was definitely due to Azizah's influence since she loves the music nib so much. :)
@sbrebrown We have a local pub quiz which lets you request a specialist subject question for the next quiz. I got to pick our specialist subject last time. So essentially, last night there was a 10 point question, which was: "What first name is shared by the following people? First clue, for 10 points, TH-cam fountain pen personality, - Brown." :P
Hi nice review. Can you please go a bit into the detail of the nib. You say it's a music nib. But from the writing it seems to be just like a regular stub nib?
Dan_S. You would never compare a Sailor 1911 large (with any nib) to a Jinhao if you ever get the chance to write with one. I highly recommend the brand to anyone, whether newbie or seasoned FP writer.

Beautiful pen. Thanks!
Nice overview of a beautiful edition!

Randy R It really is practice - it gets easier the more you do it.
Thank you, Stephen.

Marianna Kump Hehe, I'll let Azizah know 😀
I always wait for the last 'bye'.
How can I learn to write like you?
How long do you use a pen or ink before you do a review?
Thx doc

Like always the box throwing motion!
This is rather mean of you! I just ordered this pen - from Pen Chalet, but have not received it yet. ANXIETY LOL Whew! Glad you liked the pen.

Stephan Heisen Sailor calls it a music nib. It writes like a stub nib.
Very nice! Thank you!
Fresca always reminds me of the soda lol.
Yep. Me too, but Fresca, the soda, was not this color. :D
Thanks for the review. Besides the NIB, all on this pen looks cheap. At a glance, looks like a Jinhao. Am I crazy? Regards!

That's why I wrote "look". The brand is on my dream wish list for sure, special the 1911 large. Regards!
