    What a gracious man. Even though Shirley Stoler was mean to him and Roger Ebert didn't like him, he still had nice things to say about them.

      Stoler didn't have a very good reputation. She played nosy neighbor Mrs. Steve on Pee-wee's Playhouse and was known for being lazy and a complainer.

      John goes back to his childhood roots and steals 5 bags of doritos, some fish bouillabaisse and 9 toothbrushes from the supermarket in Baltimore he first stole from in 1965.

    • @bradleyandrew4378
      @bradleyandrew4378 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @simen30: Kind of a ridiculous statement to claim to know what someone "only" watches. Yes, Tarantino openly references exploitation and grindhouse films, but he does the same with art-house classics. He's referenced Fellini, Kurosawa, and his production company was named after a Godard film, a Criterion favourite. I'm positive he watches everything just from hearing him talk, since I've heard mutliple interviews where he discusses a wide range of films. Also, undermining a filmmaker because you prefer another filmmaker just speaks to your ego. The whole Tarantino steals and can't be valued is also so played out. Every artist steals. Von Trier definitely steals from Tarkovsky and Bergman in practically every film and Herzog borrows lots from many of his contemporary German filmmakers. Doesn't make them less of an artist, actually makes them better because they're consuming art and sculpting something new from that in their own world perspective. It's great to reference things you admire. Makes it so much fun!
      By the way, Criterion has been openly releasing exploitation classics for a while now. Ironically this video is of John Waters, who lovingly has made some of the most exploitative films in the underground film movement, which Criterion has been putting out prolifically.
