    In case of Ayodhya also, many Muslim organisation agreed to relocate since the place is sacred to Hindus.

    Mr. Sanyal seems to be a man of many talents and has high scholarship- try to have him as a speaker on a routine basis and include a 15 min question and answer session - by announcing topics ahead of time and collecting questions before hand. I am a senior citizen from US but watch most of your podcasts, especially the political and current affairs ones without fail. He can also introduce many other nuts and bolts behind this very efficient government machinery that we are lucky to witness in our lifetime and keep the podcast limited to 45 mins max! Younger generation can definitely make use of expert opinions on economics, policy, market, geopolitics and so on. You are doing a good job engaging them!

    Ranveer’s podcasting style is different than others. Ranveer literally represents the vast majority of the viewers who are trying to understand stuff and not argue. He tries to understand and learn from the guests. So there is no need for tough questions. I have seen so many critics saying Ranveer asks only softball questions. But guess what, that’s his purpose. He is not here to argue. He is here to understand and learn. Just like the viewers. He isn’t obligated to push back because he isn’t an intellectual or journalist. If you want to see push back and argumentative podcasts, there are others. Go watch them. Everyone has their own style and this is Ranveer’s style and the audience loves it.

      @@aarchisha625 This is not pertaining to this podcast per se. It is his gloomy predictions for the economy and the failures of such predictions (fortunately for India) that prompted such a comment. Furthermore, he is known to have prescribed a focus on the service sector exclusively for India, which as we know will not suffice to cater to such a large market and growing market like India. Our focus should be shared by the manufacturing sector as well, much more so than before, particularly since it grows the service sector as well. When a person as educated and accomplished as him prescribes such poisonous policies, one has to assume that he is doing it out of maliciousness rather than ignorance. He is known to have parted ways with the current govt in hostile terms and decided to strike back, regardless of whether it hurts India. Therefore, I would take his claims and prescriptions with a pinch of salt.

    Sanjeev Sanyal's explanation minutes 20 to 24 may not convince many. Our economy is growing because of internal job creation which leads to increased internal consumption. Previously our economy was dependent on few sectors to generate wealth, now many new sectors are available for public to participate in which leads to increased wealth generation. Commercial micro, small, medium, and large scale farming such as regular, organic, hydroponic are great examples and with the help of aggregators such as Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, BlinkIt, BigBasket are able to take to end customers in a time bound manner. UPI is another great example which has brought cash economy (which is comparatively difficult to tabulate) to a digital transaction economy which makes calculating much easier. As he rightly said, we are a population of 1.4 Billion plus, the internal market will be our driving force with new avenues of economic creation. 🙏🏼

    Bureaucracy really needs to be reformed. THE MOST CRUCIAL ASPECT of our DEVELOPMENT that HAS STILL NOT HAPPENED. If you are a middle class or above, you might have been irritated by the society in your routine life and must have blamed the government, that they need to change or they are not doing anything. Well it is not the government that is to blame, it is also mainly the bureaucracy. Those public servant (not IAS, IPS, etc) like the person sitting at the counter not taking his job seriously, being highly demotivated and assuming he has the power to do anything. Such people need to change. The system needs to be reformed for a change in the mindset for people in the system.

    It would be really helpful if you and your team provide podcasts on the fields of mathematics and various other career aspects as most of our people in our country are unaware of most of the career options,and most of them are rat-racing in specific occupations like medical and engineering, and likewise in many states, the general courses are getting reduced and many new careers and opportunities are still unknown, and for those competitive streams, day by day, more and more filthy competition is developing, therefore i hope if you do those podcasts it can provide some more useful knowledge, and it may bring scopes and change as more as possible...

    Here's an interesting question i think many would love to indulge in:
    Q. What if the the Indian Rupee (₹) (hypothetically) appreciate (rises) into the single digits, against the USD($).
    I have personally tried alot to find the answer to this, but there is interestingly very little research into this, that I could find.
    Some are hypothesising this as a prospective future for india, and Sanjeev ji has talked about it being harmful for our exports on twitter, in response to those.
    But what you could do, is explore it more.
    This is huge thing either way, good or bad, or both and nuanced.
    I say this, because, while the exports will shift to more luxury stuff, our imports (which includes oil) would become cheap by a factor of 5-10 which HUGE, therefore possibly making things mad cheap, and thereby (possibly) boosting the purchasing power of any ₹ holder to by several times.
    This could be an interesting question i think, and being a economicst and historian, i think he could give alot of interesting views on this.

    • @rutvikrs
      @rutvikrs 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @Rishabhgoyal14002
      @Rishabhgoyal14002 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@rutvikrs exactly what i said, he covered it in that thread, i know since he was replying to me, so i was a part of that thread you are talking about. (Btw this comment is also me only)
      But the thing is a reply on twitter can only cover so much, and i think he talks on the fact that we will infact get cheaper imports and stuff like that, we could get a more detailed, nuanced, and possibly a mind-blowing discussion out of it.
      I mean, at least it could make for a good click-able title/thumbnail for ranveer, at the very least, even if the answer isn't too positive for India either.
      I mean just imagine
      "Asking modi's economist what will happen if INR becomes equal to 💵"
      ❤.

      Although I'm not a researcher or expert, here's my perspective: The power of a currency is typically tied to its reserves. Take the US dollar, for instance. Its strength stems from strategic geopolitical decisions made decades ago, making it a preferred medium for international trade. Consider the requirement for Saudi Arabia to sell oil in dollars to leverage US protection against other Middle Eastern countries. This creates a scenario where nations need to hold reserves of the dollar to engage in global commerce.
      Currently, the value of the US dollar remains high because the US has been conservative in printing additional currency compared to other nations like India, which have pursued more aggressive monetary policies to stimulate economic activity and distribute wealth among their populace. However, this approach can lead to inflationary pressures over time, diminishing the purchasing power of money.
      In essence, the value of money tends to decline gradually due to inflation, even though individuals often focus on growing their wealth. Understanding this dynamic is crucial because it implies an inverse relationship between investment strategies and the real value of money. Those who fail to grasp this concept may encounter financial difficulties in the long run.
      Just my take

      All our exports would be so expensive other countries will source it from elsewhere and everything we export is available from other sources, accommodating for the time to switch. But on the other hand, while imports would be theoretically cheaper, we still have to import. Where would we find the dollars for that.
      If INR is forced to appreciate to the levels mentioned, market economics will bring it back to sustainable levels.

    Loved it. Having worked closely with government as a Technical Advisor, and specially worked with Secretaries and Joint Secretaries, I felt too, UPSC is a colonial mechanism to give bureaucrats more power.
    As a progressive country and Atma Nirbhar country, these bureaucrats should be highly skilled and experienced enough to handle things on the ground. I have met very junior IAS officers who are freshly graduate, they still have colonial mentality where they think they are the lord. Just giving one exam doesn't give you power.

Other than development reform we require lot of change in mindset / socioeconomic mindset change in the country!

    Vietnam's population and GDP is a twelfth of India's, it is nonsensical to say that India received better FDI than Vietnam. Vietnam has managed to garner a large share of China+1 diversification. We NEED to obsess, as much as we wish Vietnam and Bangladesh well. Our people need employment too and the gov seems rather comfortable of losing this once in a decade opportunity.
