  • Join me on the deck as I demonstrate the precise operation of a Panamax crane, showing how to skillfully maneuver and place lids onto a ship’s containers. Watch as I handle two different lids, navigate the crane’s gantry movement, and manage the swaying beam-commonly known as ‘helicoptering.’ Even with years of experience, perfection isn’t always guaranteed, so don’t get nervous if it takes a few tries. Remember, practice makes perfect, and every move teaches us something new. Stay tuned as the boss directs us on where each lid needs to go, ensuring everything fits just right on the deck!

I take it the lids are used for stabilization and load for all the crates that you are stacking?

Yes, and also to be able to stack containers above, you couldn’t keep stacking from the cell guides that would make everything too loose
