Whoa, not a fan of this fix. I am OK with the screw as a temporary fix but I am less satisfied with the terminal sleeve. I would have replaced the positive terminal or at least reshaped it so some tension will be available when it was tightened, And, I would have thoroughly cleaned both terminals and battery posts before reconnecting the terminals. Following that I would have applied some anti-corrosion spray/gel to those terminal as a finishing step..
I see. Great long comment. It was not a ,”How to Properly Connect a Battery”, video. It is just what it says, “Battery Cable Hack”. Some cable ends are a specific OEM part like this Hyundia Tucson and the BMW series. You can NOT buy a generic cable end for those. This is lead on lead which gives a great connection and you just tight it up after installing. You still have to tighten the bolt.
@@disturbingkreationz IMO, using a screw was the hack. Back at the shop, I expected a better, longer lasting repair. That said, if the vehicle was near end of life. the fix you did might be acceptable.
never seen those things. nice.
Yea been around a long time but I only use them on the weird cable ends from factory to get some more use out of them.
Nice idea, wish I'd thought of it
Thanks. It’s an old trick handed down actually. Subscribe and check out all our cool videos.
Just remember the first trick is TEMPORARY, please do the caps.
Im sure any conductive metal can be used as a temp piece. This is a smart thing to do to avoid tow truck.
I would add to clean the terminal and cable
Awesome comment. I made this video as a way to get to a safe location and then how to fix the cable. It’s not a how to install a battery properly.
I actually saw this done once before. cool trick.
I love this metal screw trick.
Thanks for tip.
You bet!
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!

Glad to see you are very knowledgeable on batteries and connections. Makes them last longer mate.

I appreciate the opinion. This lead cap is exactly what it was made for though.
screw = $.05 / tow truck = $200
