    We are looking into do more of this for our customers. I work in recognition. How do you know which pieces to peal in which sequence? I would think this is more art than a piece of crystal/glass used for an award.

      Thank you Ryan for the comment. If you notice the image is a simple line art stencil, not only are the "pulls" easy, the design allows for it, parts of a design can also be freehand cut if you feel the need.
      Determining which parts of the image to pull, take a bit of thought on dimension viewing the engraving through the glass. There is a sense of Art to the process, but really, this piece can be fairly complicated, smart small with shading or frosting, look at a design determine a sequence of pulls. Then move into a sequence of "sandcarving"
      I would encourage you to take a Sandcarving class which should equip you to become a bit more knowledgable.

    How is he peeling pieces out? I thought that this material was a washout material. Where do you get this nozzle? I can only find the guns. Where do I get the sleeves to replace my gloves inside the blasting machines?

      Hello Connie, thanks for watching. In this clip, Art is demonstrating in-part the "techniques" of Sandcarving. Sandcarving is achieved by removing parts of the design, creating multiple depths using one single photomask stencil. He's not cutting vinyl; it is a simple line-art photomask. I suggest you have a look at a few of the other training videos on our "Sandcarving" channel; one playlist you should watch is
      th-cam.com/play/PLROVreHof9GNq8tVVb7u-Da0pPf4AqyVW.html
      You can buy replacement parts from our website, Rayzist.com/Store "blasting supplies."
      There, you can find nozzles, sleeves, etc.
      Again, thanks for watching.

    it doesn't show real good but it would seem to me that the little pieces of plastic you peel off would eventually clog the hose or tip, unless you put them in a can or box or something so they don't go down into the sand hopper.

      Thank you for watching. Very keen observation. The Mask that is being peeled away cannot clog the hose or the nozzle because of the sifting screen at the bottom of the blast cabinet (it would also very easy to collect that mask rather than dropping it). The bit of mask or debries will settle there and can be removed or sucked up with a shop vac. It is only the media that can pass through the screen. If you have more interest in the process, I will encourage you to consider taking a Sandcaring Workshop. Completely had on and this 16-stage care eagle is the ending project. see: Rayzist.com for details.

    Hi there... what amoiunt of money would you sell that eagle for? Thank`s for answering

    • @Sandcarving
      @Sandcarving  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great Question, the answer is a loaded one. The price can depend on several factors, surface area being carved, skill-set, the quality of the carving and the value item being engraved. Simple face valve for this item 6" x 8" Starfire glass piece (corporate award) $225+ if the article is a produced for a gallery or by a well know artist starting price could be $400 and up
      Don't sell yourself short, carving can be time consuming and as an art form you will become better and sharper every piece you complete. Sign/monogram your work it has more prestige and perceived valve

    It's beautiful work and a real pleasure watching you do it while you narrate, however it's very frustrating when you flip it over to show the results and it's cut off by the camera man, who appears is not paying attention!!

    Is the hose a the nozzle holder all one piece? What do you call it?

    • @Sandcarving
      @Sandcarving  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blasting hose, nozzle and nozzle holder are three separate items. Replacement parts can be found at Rayzist.com

    No gloves needed? Does the blasted gladd get in your skin?

    • @Sandcarving
      @Sandcarving  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      With our Sandcarving Systems, the blast protection is personal latex gloves or rubber gloves if you choose. Gloves can be a bit unsanitary with multiple uses, plus the media that we etch with is rather fine and does not hurt your hands. But gloves are optional to the operator.

      Thank you for your interest. The basting machine used in this clip is our 2034VXA Sandcarving System. We are using SR3000 Self Stick Photoresist film, 5Mil for multistage carving. Unfortunately, we have not trade fairs in India. Please visit our website, www.rayzist.com for pricing or to LiveChat with a representative.

    What grit is this?

    • @Sandcarving
      @Sandcarving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This grit size used would have been 150 grit Aluminum Oxide - which is a multi-purpose grain size. With "sandcarving," there are advantages to using a coarser grain for cut speed. Appreciate you watching.
