I like what this ensemble does. Blackmore's love of classical and medieval music with dashes of traditional folk and his rock background added is producing interesting things. "Ode to Joy" has been done on the electric guitar before but not often enough for people to realize how close that music and pop really are. Beethoven wanted to rouse people with music. Good live performances of his work leave the skin tingling. Blackmore and this group are trying to bring that across.
I read many comments angry with Ritchie coz they want him to reform Rainbow & play rock again. Maybe they should have a good listen to this, because what they don't understand is that Blackmore's Night is a more dynamic, modern & subtle version of Rainbow, with many 'rock' songs still, complete with classic Blackmore strat solos but with a stunning female singer instead of the usual screaming male singer. We should all celebrate that he's still making new music & performing regularly. he could easily have retired by now!
There's nothing wrong with David Keith, it's not his fault that Blackmore can't play like he used to anymore and it's not his fault that Blackmore doesn't want to do more with the current Rainbow. The band lacks practice and live experience. You can't just put a band together of people who never played together before, practice for only 2 weeks a year and play only 4 maybe 5 shows a year and expect it to be good. And that's exactly what Ritchie does. His current Rainbow is a joke, but it's not the band's fault, Ritchie just doesn't want to spent more time with Rainbow to make it something good.
@@markleggett3944 I don't fully agree with your statement. Take Mick Box for example, the guy is 76 and still plays at the top of his game. The difference between him and Blackmore is, that he still does heavy rock shows multiple days a week and prepares prepares himself and the band well in advance for every world tour he's about to do. Blackmore does 4 maybe 5 shows a year with Blackmore's Night and that's it.
Ritchie Blackmore ranked only 50th on Rolling Stone's greatest guitarists ever, yet bums like Keith Richards ranked in the top 5? Rolling Stone is far more out of touch than I thought they were. Incredible.
It's very simple: during Ritchie's stardom in the 70's and 80's he NEVER agree to do an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. So they put him in a kind of "black list" forever, and never recognize him as the true genius he is. Never a cover, never a mention of his legacy, never on top of a poll.
Now, I love Candace, but I don't know which was worse here, her tooting on the whistle or her tortured vocals in this song. Richie was his usual magnificent self, tho (altho I sometimes wish he'd forget the slide).
A great song. And a wonderful and here really rocking voice from Candice with an unusually dark tone
Such an Amazing Guitarplayer. Ritchie Blackmore and Jimmy Page are defenately the most inspiring guitarplayers to me.
Jimmy who? Let's not joke, please ... maybe Page could tune the guitar to Blackmore!
@@massimopescatori6514 ,хорошо сказал. Мистер Ричи Блэкмор вне рейтингов и любой конкуренции.

This is one of my favorite videos! Start with a pulse quickening Beethoven’s Ninth and then go right into a slammin’ St. Theresa. Just awesome!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wonderful song , so great is Theresa💕Blackmore night Paris🙌🎶

Всё правильно сказанно. Полностью поддерживаю.
He only ever worked with top notch singers, and this lady fits the bill too.
That was fantastic!
Godly touch by Ritchie...awesome🙏🙏
This is an old Joan Osborne song. Great version!
openskies11 it's a fabulous choice of song - and Joan is a wonderful writer and performer of songs - as well as being warm and genuine in person.
amazing...thanks for the post!!!
So much energy left in Blackmore - he looks pretty robust still...Tight and tender...
+Serendiphany still this was 10 years ago. but anyways ritchie is a legend! :)
I hope he plays Seattle/Portland one more time...
Tight?
Was für eine Frau, unglaublich:-)
Ritchie ist keine Frau in dieser Inkarnation!
That bass is on all my recordings :)
AMAZING! : )
I like this drummer much more than the one he chose for the latest version of Rainbow. Its a shame he never asked him to take part.
That's what I was thinking

Agreed!
@@kissarmy305The current Rainbow is just a shell of what it used to be. No energy, but at Blackmore's age, it's not surprising.

ой ой ой - чё делают Хулиганы !)))))))), Блэкмор - Красава , Канди Супер
St. Theresa ist von Joan Osborne ... Ode an die Freude von Beethoven

You can hear where Steve Via got the inspiration for liberty

That's ridiculous! Obviously these voters never heard the Machine Head album...

Yet....Ritchie Blackmore created the riff that EVERY guitar player tries out on his guitar. Rolling Stone and R&RHOF are shite.
Rolling Stones? Who? If Ritchie is not in the top 10 rock guitarists of all time the judges are all full of SHIT. Simple fact.
1:25 shut up ( that´s for you Satriani ) !
that is so true his got it ,but he want`s the renaisance songs now
i like that from Pavia Pivi
😊😊❤😊😊
The piper's callin' you to join her....and all the mice and rodents followed and marched behind her following to the tune.

😂😂Richie is a genius yes shes a good singer but wonder if she'd be as famous without him. Yes that whistle is annoying....
Такие великие! А сцена скромна.Но здесь поют по "фанеру" ,а сцены ;- мама не горюй
Ein Song von Joan Osborne???
Wohl eher die 9. Synfonie von Ludwig van Beethoven!
Jimmy Page? Gimme a break!
sportster16301 yep same here 😂
A dinosaur trampled along the way.
Page is great, but Richie played in another league ever since.
What a powerful performance.
bhuffff great... not... amazing guitar playing mr Blackmore
Rolling Stones Rag sucks.
It's a crime.
