- A review and update of the rules I made for "Mini-Warmaster". The ideas are now refined after having done a good number of playtests over the last few months.
Note that Mini-Warmaster is a bit different to regular Warmaster Revolution and, honestly, it might not be 'your cup of tea'. But I've had fun with it and I hope that you might too.
I prefer Maxi-Warmaster with 5k pts on two tables :-D
BUT I appreciate the effort - your take seems to make sense & made me consider going by train with a buddy to WMR events to pull of an extra game or two on the way!
Haha - I would prefer that too, but I am still building up my armies at the moment. And I need a bigger table...
I've done one 4,000 point battle before (many years ago) and it was a blast!
Warmaster content! ❤ Thank you good sir !
You're welcome! More coming... working on some terrain today.
Brilliant! Love this Mini-Warmaster! Great idea and so glad I just came across this!
One question, do the games play faster?
Yes, they do go faster, simply because you have less stuff on the table, less figures to move and less dice to roll :) It gives a reasonable approximation to regular Warmaster to be able to try things out. Note that primarily it's about playing in a smaller space, but also can be used to have some fun with a new army as you grow your model collection.
This is awesome. I weirdly think I can use this to do 15mm warmaster on a small table… is there a public doc for this?
Actually, I haven't yet made a document but was planning to. I'll try to get onto it in the next couple of days and perhaps ask to put on the WMR FB group?
Would like to try the rules with aome of my DBA/HoTT armies
yep, they will work (generally speaking). FYI, the rules doc (v1.00) is on the Warmaster Revolution FB group. facebook.com/groups/185937199904/files/files
It's indeed weird. ;) Why would you want to play 15 mm Warmaster at all? What's wrong with 10 mm? And you'd need a bigger table for 15 mm too.
15mm for WM - not really so weird. You just keep the base size at 40mm x 20mm and have fewer figures on a base. The rules don't care about the figure scale. It may look a bit weird if you have a 15mm figure army on the table against at 10mm figure army, but oh well...
Not that I am saying I'd choose to do 15mm for WM... but I've played out some WM games with other people's DBM(M) figures and no big deal :)
