I live two miles from Universal studios Orlando, great place. So sorry ya joined us while a storm was coming through, but hopefully you were able to get back to enjoying your vacation shortly after. The parks are usually pretty good about returning to business quickly afterwards. In Orlando, when a storm like that is coming, a stop at the liquor store to ensure your hurricane party is a success is vital. I see ya had some smirnoff in ya room, so good job.
I remember riding the hogwarts ride, it was so much fun! Also I don’t know if this is orlando but, the Hulk Coaster and Hollywood Ripride Rockit are very fun rides.

If u go to Disney, pay attention to the sounds and smellz. Every area with a theme, e.g. Frontier Land (or whatever they call it) and these areas will have trees and bushes native to that place, so bushes and trees common in the 'Old West', but also * sounds * common to those areas and times. Bushes conceal small speakers with the sounds of crickets, also local to the West (or wherever) and very sophisticated artificial lightning bugs are threaded through the trees, "bugs" that trace a pattern in the dark that really look like they are flying. They made a huge effort to really make nit feel like u were inside that place. I don't know but kind of doubt Universal went to these extremes.
I was at Universal mid-October. (a few days after the hurricane) I rode the Velocicoaster 5 times. Best coaster on the planet. Hagrid's is awesome too. I didn't do the water rides as I didn't want to get soaked
Universal has a no camera on rides policy. Always had that except on media days. That’s not a metal detector by the way, the parks are testing out a new fast pass system for about a year. It looks like a metal detector but it’s just a scanner checking for the wristband or a phone app. It’s because universal wants to implement it at epic universe so it’s testing how well it can handle crowds and how well it does under real world conditions. They tweak it constantly to make sure the bugs are worked out. It’s kinda like an advanced magic band system.
YASSS I took my entire family to Universal Orlando mid-October 2024. My favorite ride is the Veloci-coaster. Heck yeah!! We went the week after Milton and it was GLORIOUS!!!!!
Where Harry Potter is now used to be a really cool roller coaster called Dueling Dragons. It was actually 2 coasters that ran at the same time. Sometimes barely missing each other.
What a DOLL that baby is! And you lived thru the hurricane! Good job! Hint - i've lived thru every hurricane that's come through here! The worst part is usually losing power! And they usually get that back on pretty quickly! In other words - if you choose to move here you'll do just fine!❤ Take it from a Grammy! (About to be a GREAT-Grammy, too!) We'd love to have you move here!❤❤❤
I absolutely love Velocicoaster. I ride it a few times back to back. Front Row and back row. I keep my hands up the whole time on it. We have Annual Passes and go every weekend.
Yes, it's normal I guess. I was excited with my first hurricane. I remember waiting on it but it came so late I went to sleep. I woke up sometime in the middle of the night because I heard the wind whistling outside and then calm so my brothers and cousins and I opened the door and went outside during the eye of the storm and then went back in. That was hurricane Andrew back in 1992. I lived in South Florida but not as far south as where all the real damage was. I felt conflicted about my excitement I didn't understand why it's odd. But yeah, the day before the hurricane could be sunny and all normal until it's close enough for things to change.
Being from Florida but having moved away, I can say that I miss Universal more than most things from back home (besides my family and friends obviously). Glad you had a blast and pretty strange you bumped into the Undertaker lol
Undertaker is the GOAT And the Velocicoaster is like if some kid made this crazy coaster in a video game and the developers were like “okay we’ll make it” lol
Just got back from Florida yesterday and went to universal 2 days and I went on hagrids for the first time and I’m usually fine on roller coasters as long as I don’t go upside down ( I have a condition called pots that causes low blood pressure but I take medication and drink extra water and have some salt and I’m all good) well I almost passed out apparently I was “white as a ghost” they wanted to call ems and I was like no this is a regular occurrence for me I’ll sit for a few minutes and wait for my heart rate to even out and I’ll be fine and walked off to my wheelchair. My dad was like it’s fine she’s fine when I told my mom (she doesn’t like rides) she started laughing and was like oh no. I’m glad I got to go on hagrids but don’t think I will again because I hate scaring people when passing out or in this case almost passing out like it’s not fun passing out but once it becomes a normalcy in your life you forget how terrifying it is for others to witness . Anyways hope you enjoyed your trip!

11:19 I think hurricane is the only storm that you have days to watch it come in.
Usually the news will say something about getting water, food and candles... etc.
That's an sure indication to get supplies, just in case.
They have to have the safety nets or else the park employees would have a hell of a time cleaning up the grisly splat.
Well... depending on how high your falling from and how fast, the workers would be cleaning up minced you

I absolutely love Velocicoaster. I ride it a few times back to back. Front Row and back row. I keep my hands up the whole time on it. We have Annual Passes and go every weekend.
They need to add a Quidditch themed roller coaster where you're hanging below the rails, and the seat rotates so you are looking down.
I went to school on the back lot here so I was in the park every day for over a year. I often had lunch in the park because I got a big discount.
