I've 2 pedals on my board a headrush mx5 and the ampeg scrdi I use the ampeg by itself and also use it stacked with my headrush to make a more ballsy tone fn badass the ampeg is...
I got it and like the sound, but realised it would need an effect send/return, post distortion, to insert a looper. it would allow to record a clean loop, and use the distortion for lead. If I put the looper after the di, then I lose the DI output and the headphone output.
I think this a great product. Obviously distortion on Bass is to taste. I was wondering, if the Blend on the Scrambler is just a balance of the preamp or clean sound with the distortion? I like a mild overdrive on Bass sometimes, sounds great when used with a trio under a solo. Think of how Dug Pinnick uses distorted Bass at times. Also, when you hear this pedal in context with other instruments it will sound different than it would by itself. The ability to practise with headphones (aux input)with a music player is golden.
I think the scrambler distortion sucks . I would prefer the MXR bass distortion pedal . but I am going to get the ampeg preamp pedal . that preamp sounds good as shit
Jamin Fernandez picked one up today... $199.99 USD. This thing sounds so gooood running into my 7 Pro. I use it like Dino. 4 different tones on the fly!
I love a guy named Dino. Every gear guy should be 40 and named Dino
When you kicked in the distortion I kept hearing Larry Graham saying, "I'm gonna add some bottom to make it easy to move your feet..."
Headphone out is a great idea. Nice pre/DI.
Are you telling me that I can use it as a return with headphones during live shows?

Mirak M Id guess you can use the Through output jack to feed the Looper and then patch it into the Aux in. I'd need to check the signal flow though...

Great
Great demo. Was wondering what pickups are in that Lakland you're playing?
jonnypin1 nordstrand big blades
Want that bass, now!
I'm starting to think Dino isn't going to answer you.
Aux in plays through the amp and cabs? And also through headphones once plugged in?
No, just headphones. 4:15
I personally am not a huge fan of using effects particularly distortion it's hard enough to find a good clean tone . Love Ampeg thought .
Hy bro can we use dis di with bass head amp at same time or not ??? How will it work or its avoid head amp only di it will works
He usually answers when you call him bro.
use xlr out
Huge Ampeg fan, but the OD is horrific.
It is 12 V not 9 V Power Supply
It can do both, 9 or 12 volt
Does anyone know if the DI out on this sends out the sound of the pedal, or just a clean DI?
The DI sends the sound of the pedal
Pedal, yo
Liked the scrambler side only.
How much cost this pedal?

Nice preamp but OD sucks
It’s not 4 channels, it’s 2. And counting your uneffected sound as one channel or feature the box gives you is beyond stupid.
What is that bass guitar in the video? anybody know??????
Lakland
Thanks Man!
Basically Ampeg just threw another circuit in there to act like a peddle did something great distortion on base sucks what are used to much of it
I have the Ampeg analog bass preamp , sounds way better
Why does the pre-amp tone and bypassed tone sound exactly the same? Overpriced made-in-China CACA.
They clearly don't sound exactly the same. Your ears need training is my guess.
dramado your ears are made in China, too.
@@tortillaman2491 Haha, good one. No hate here. Just find it hard to believe you don't hear a difference.
You are deaf.
