Fun Vlog, Mary. The "behind the scenes" part was cool too. Probably a lot easier to just play "Row Row Row your boat, gently down the stream" though. 👍👍👍
I sang on top of a glacier, in an ice cave, and on a potato chip rock, but I've yet to perform on a boat. I mean I only sang a couple of lines from 80's French band Niagara's song "L'Amour à la Plage", whilst sailing on a boat. In Niagara Falls.
This row boat just got you another subscriber. Amazing. Simply amazing. If no one has ever told you before - absolutely amazing. I’m looking forward to watching more from your channel. Just amazing. Cheers.
I paused the video right away to lookup “touch wood.” Growing up in the U.S. I’ve only ever known it as “Knock on Wood.” I’ve officially learned something new today. 😁
I love the background to go along with the song ... excellent job! You did a great job playing and singing in a "rocky" boat! Good answer on the question about breaking your hand. I am a hockey goalie and I play the game because I like it and yes I've played gigs with some bruises and minor injuries. It's amazing what you can do when you are motivated to perform. Keep on boxing and biking! Thank you for choosing my guitar story .... it was a wonderful journey to build them. All the best!
REALLY, he wimped out on the REAL guitar? I'm heartbroken and disappointed. He is no longer my idol. What is this world coming to? :-/ Seriously, though, good channel, too. I thought the one in the 'giant instrument' museum with Davey was a hoot. Especially when Davey "I want BASS" was satisfied. And his carillon and organ segments were very cool.
I’ve been dreaming of getting away from the craziness in the city and just playing music quietly (or loudly!). You are very lucky! Great song and great video!
Difficult but you did it perfectly! I also have a TH-cam channel where I make covers and I wish I could play with you 😭 I love your voice!! Greetings from Italy :)

Hey Mary thanks for your answer on my question about breaking a hand a week before a sold out concert, it's that what I wanted the hear keep singing and perform even in a worst case scenario. I already saw the cabin videos on nebula very well done from your team behind you and a smiling Mary. Greetings Geert :)
I broke my wrist a week after the first UK lockdown, March 2020. Just when I thought I'd be stuck at home for months - and would be able to play non-stop and do some home recording. Doh !!!
If that impresses you go take a gander at superbike racers finishing races with broken bones, sometimes several of them. In their case, I expect adrenaline is the driver at that point. (Can't believe I just wrote that, sorry, honestly, it wasn't intentional, they just happen).
6:28 Yup done that last week. I'm a Dutch guitar player, but recently I've been driving trucks to make ends meet.. got out off my truck, stood on a draincover wrong, twisted my ankle, fell back landed on my hand broke 3 bones in my hand... I'll be in a cast for 6 weeks now, not being able to play guitar gets me the most tho...
Hi Mary. I'm "newish" to your channel.. ! Your lovely voice & chord/finger-style stuff is really beautiful. I, personally think the "guitar-on-a-boat" thing is brilliant - totally WORKS!!! ;) X p.s. Have you checked-out the Roland Blues Cube amp? Very tasty!
Ether of no gigs, hahaha You have a very bright and busy future ahead of you. I’m proud of you just for making nicely produced videos and we’ll written songs.
{-: amazing voice and from what i see in person, keep on keeping on you have an aura that shines. keep loving that guitar more than i know u would the money x
Music for me is more than a hobby... it drives me to go on... and inspires me to live my best life! I've worked with my hands daily in various types of construction work since I was 15 (40 heard ago.. wow) using dangerous power tools... and I've had some scary accidents like with a monstrous table saw, as well as, a fall from as ladder 5 years ago which caused the loss of control and feeling to my right pinky and ring finger (a work place injury at my C5 to C7 -cervical spine). It greatly affecting my ability to play and enjoy the piano and keyboards, my main instruments... so I started to play more on guitar (don't use the right hand pinky and ring finger much to hold a "plectrum" right?). I've always played multiple instruments like the drums, bass, etc... and have always wanted to learn to play the cello. I'm lucky to be alive with all Over been through... and though I don't always have as much time for playing & crafting music as I'd like... nothing could stop me from expressing myself musically! 😎🤘🎸🐦💔
Hi there Mary it's Phil from Newark yeah I've got to say I think this is probably one of your best songs I've ever heard of yours keep up the good work all the best for the future.ps five Bucks says you don't read this..
My initial guess as to the number connection with 444. So with the three guitars there are some numbers in the background 1130 430 That is the same as K D D D Or 11 4 4 4 So I saw that it was Ken's Kabin which adequately covers the number eleven. I looked at the guitars and they each have a vintage bridge (plate, pickup, saddles) and they might be Fender but I can't see that good. They appear to be three-string which should have three mounting screws for the pickup and four mounting screws just below the saddles which would most likely be tilted for tuning or otherwise you would have three in and three out. They do look great though don't they? Now, to be certain, I took the initial of your patreon call-out being 'B' and I used the second set of your listing. I took the initials of the fourth name down from each of the three columns and added... JIL=31 RB=20 VP=38 _______ 89 or the letter "K" from 444. Go figure. I didn't really expect that to work.
I always knew that you could sing like an angel , write like Nancy Griffith and that you could play like a virtuoso but Mary, Mary , Mary how did I miss that your eyes were as beautiful as starlight? P.S. I loved this video😊❤👍
Suggestion: looks a little silly but wear oven-style mitts when riding a bike to protect your fingers. Example: Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcel Osuna was running the bases the other day without his mitts for one of the few times this year. He slid into 3rd base, hooked a finger on the 3rd baseman's foot, broke the finger badly and will be out 6 to 8 weeks
@@MrJdsenior That’s what people keep telling me and all my ads on YT are for counselors and mental health. I got more issues to deal with than the UN but I keep a positive attitude,,, unless I’m driving then I use all my bad words. Wait what?

Wait, she boxes too. I love this chick! I prefer my musicians with a pack of Marlboro’s, a bottle of Jack and some drug issues but she has kind of a wholesome almost goofy element to her that’s irresistible!
I've got a question about good, but cheap electric guitars. I want to find a decent beginner electric guitar, but I don't want to shell out more then 300 dollars for one. Is the Squier brand ok? I've heard mixed reviews on them. Are there any brands or models that you'd recommend?

Oh, well done.
Ooof.
The story of the Farmcasters was absolutely wonderful and touching! Now it's given me an idea for a custom build...
What a great guitar story! Thanks to Brad and Mary!

The guitar on a boat thing reminds me of Rob Scallon playing metal inappropriate places. (thankfully he was holding a foam dummy guitar).

It's not that hard to make that a reality, at least in most cases, just sayin'.
I’d be afraid of having a guitar as nice and expensive as that in a row boat. You’re brave, Spender.
I so adore these informative and sometimes quite silly videos. Hear here, Ms. Spender. Hear here.

"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way..."
Now THAT was funny. Unfortunately I don't think the Brits have a monopoly on that mode, it's pretty much universal.

Dang, what a lovely locale! Loved the smirks and sass while you were playing in the boat. Looked like fun, even if it was a bit iffy. 😅

I don't really listen to much other than blues music - and some soul & bluesy jazz. Love your singing and your guitar playing is fab too.
WITH your MARTIN GUITAR. VERY BRAVE. IT TURNED OUT GREAT.
Who needs oars when you have a guitar 😎
Solid body electric works better as a makeshift oar than a hollow acoustic.
