@@Baal_Zebub who bloody cares? What a totally irrelevant remark. She is a wonderful person sharing her music and making lots of time to put out her posts.
Beautiful song, Mary. I am a late guitar player. I played jazz drums all my life. I found your videos and I was inspired to give it a go. I am so happy! It opened up an entire new world and view of music for me. I am not good but I am enjoying the journey. I love and enjoy your music and voice. Thank you
Whoa! Love that new tune. Especially that little vocal-guitar slide harmony bit about 7:30 into video. At first I thought it was a sneaky overdub and had to replay. Have to try that somewhere someday. Always enjoy your content and music, thanks Mary.
I love everything about this video. So smooth and pleasant - exactly what I need right now... I really appreciate your music and thanks again for sharing your gift, hard work, talent, and passion for music with the world! 💗
I'm the only one who thinks that pink t-shirt looks amazing on you Mary? super relax video, very intimate but open at the same time. Cheers from Argentina!
A musician friend once converted an old ambulance into a mini-mobile venue. Capacity for 1 performer & about 18 audience. He would pick a quite beauty-spot carpark & had invited performers & audience. I was wonderful.
Booking small gigs is great idea to get back in the groove. We have some already booked and are looking forward to being back on stage. Luke's story is a great one ... guitars are friends who are always there for you! It is wonderful when they accompany you through life. Cheers!
Your flat is really lovely. Love the clean look, which you also have in the studio. Clean and space inspires to create rather than clutter where mentally there is no “space” to put the creation.
I am adding nothing new to the comments. So many are mentioning the smooth elegant nature of this video, and I couldn’t agree more. Luke’s guitar story was just quietly moving, and Mary’s performance was amazing. She makes it look so effortless, a true professional. I know she’ll be flooded with requests from all over the UK to play their venue. I am very envious. Here’s hoping that one day she might be able to come to my neck of the woods in the USA.
thanks for your lovely video Mary . i'm enjoying your new music . i hope you can keep playing live because thats the essence of having fun . the new studio looks lovely . a nice creative place .
Mary, anyone who practices with a Martin acoustic is top notch in my book! I'm lucky enough to own six Martin's and I also practice on my couch. Great video!
Great home renovation video on Nebula of the transformation from day one. Tearing out everything and starting over with bare walls. And the result of all that work looks great! Love the new song! I still have and play the Alvarez Dove acoustic guitar that I bought in 1971 with hard-earned money. And yeah, I have some great memories with that guitar.
That new composition: Commensurate artistry, alluring in its lightfooted simplicity paired with delightfully slippery embellishments. Barebones meets flesh & blood. Also love the courageous cliffhanger ending devoid of guitar. You rule!
Mary you are so talented and give such good advice. I write songs on my Taylor with the help of Jack, Jim and the Captain, some times it works some times it doesn't but we all have a good time , although some of us can't remember .that's why the recording equipment is always on in the session luv ya
Very nice performance of Get Away Sun. Great song and lovely singing voice! Your KISS approach is very fitting for this song, it doesn't need anything more. :)
Just like you, I also love riding my bike, it frees my spirit, or to be correct I get closer in to it. I also like guitar music. edit: I had to edit my message because I'm not proficient in spelling English.
I'm guessing you won't make it to the USA anytime soon, but if you do, please visit Boston, Massachusetts! I'll suggest The Burren pub in Somerville. :)
Great times have come when you can compose, perform, and produce (tracking, miximg, mastering) an album all by yourself while sitting in your room, without going anywhere. having only a laptop, a sound interface, a guitar and a microphone. Like there is even free software for it.
I think what you are talking about is known as House concerts here in Canada. Generally the host passes all the gate onto the performer, and often puts them up for the night, BnB style. Simple refreshments are provided and guests are encouraged to bring an adult beverage if they want one. 10 to 20 people max usually.
Mary if you came to Belfast, it would blow my mind. We have so many great spots for intimate gigs, I can picture you playing in Town Square cafe (not a venue, but they made an exception for Ariel Posen?). Though when you some day have "Mary Spender and her Lone Wolves" rocking a large stage, I'll travel to Glasgow, London or wherever!
Please please come to spalding/Holbeach/boston area, please please please. I am learning guitar now, a 50 Yr old medically retired man who you have inspired to try harder with the guitar and also to cycle again to lose weight. Keep inspiring us, well done 👏.
I’ve just moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, so I don’t really know about any venues but I’ve always hoped that Edinburgh would be somewhere you’d come to play. I’d sprint to any venue. Thanks for another fab video! All the best, and please keep us updated with all your gig plans.
If you came to Salisbury, I'd certainly come to your gig. Frankly, I'd travel further afield to come too. Get a feeling, you have a better idea than I would for venues in Salisbury, but I think Old Ale House, Old Mill, Royal George, Ox Row Inn, Winchester Gate...
Very nice place Mary👍 Also I really love this section with the guitar storys🔝I also worked for my first electric guitar. It was a Squier Fender Strat-Sunburst Made in USA.But sadly I don't have it anymore(Must be around 1985. I worked in the bakery around that time.(I wanted to have a Sunburst Strat because of Slowhand and the Layla Album)After that my second guitar was a Gibson Les Paul Gold Top and I worked around that time at the German Mail Parcel Office... I paid for it 4000 German DM,and i was so proud of it.It was second Hand and it was pretty rare.But.... I ain't got it anymore cause hard time took the best of me.However.Thats Life.Best wishes and blessings for your future plans and greetings from germany🇩🇪to the UK🇬🇧✌ J.A.Hansen⚓

Love the lydian vibe of that little riff at the end of the chorus :)
Such a cozy flat! And I love the new song, I think it's my favourite yet - had my head bobbin the whole time!

Mary, you won't have problem filling any venue! Hope you get to the US sometime in the near future. Thanks for sharing your music.
Hi Mary, In Manchester you could go to Band on the wall or The soup kitchen in the northern Quarter. 🤞
the railway inn in winchester sounds like the perfect setting for one of those gigs - and just across from Salisbury :)
I'm guessing you won't make it to the USA anytime soon, but if you do, please visit Boston, Massachusetts! I'll suggest The Burren pub in Somerville. :)

Mary, that indeed was a great video. It must take several hours to produce one of these. Always enjoy them.
i worked a show at the new cross inn in london once and really liked the place, small but with enough space for people to mill in and out
Semitone Studios in Stockport (Marple) would be perfect for what you seem to have in mind re: gigs. Just saying. ;)
I would love to see you live. Herne bay Kent Hampton inn please
I also recommend you come to Boston. Plenty of good spots for you to check out.

Saw AC/DC play the Playhouse in about ‘77 and been going there ever since…. Enjoy!!

Nice song! Great writing also. Reminds me a bit of the work by Imogen Heap but with your unique vocals. We love and support you. ❤️fan
I'm from the North East (Newcastle). Billy bootleggers would be the perfect venue. That's where I went to my first live performance. It's very cosy
