I have always loved dried flowers and have several books about them from the 80's and such. Love them and thrilled that they're returning to greater public notice. I have bunches of white and mandarin orange gomphrena & copper red strawflowers hanging to dry. Cannot wait to use them in a wreath or something. Oh, one of my favorite books is 'The Book of Pressed Flowers, A Complete Guide to Pressing, Drying and Arranging' by Penny Black, 1988 edition. So inspiring.

Loved this, Laura... The statice are beautiful. We had statice bushes when we lived in SLO , Ca., But they ( the bush type, that is don't do good up over the Grade here in high desert where we live now in Atascadero, Ca.) You know where to find your kids from now on......they will always want to be "down by the river" ....our daughter went with another girl and a boy "up into the foothills in SLO, CA. from their elementary school instead of coming home when school was over or was it at recess? This was 46 years ago ... What the kids didn't know was that wild boar roam those hills the teachers couldn't leave and the police and CHP and parents were out looking for those kids. Finally they found them before dark...right at dusk, I believe . They of course couldn't understand what all the fuss was about .. .

5:16 Laura, I don't have moles, gophers or other pest problems, but I have a dwarf red rabbit pet named Ji-Hop and he eats all the plants in my backyard except for my aloe plants, the other day he ate all the leaves on my new sage plants I just planted and all my dwarf dahlia seedlings I planted weaks ago and were growing beautifully in a stone raised bed I made recently, I love him but he is an unstoppable and grumpy gobbler that jumps or digs under any obstacle that I put to him and sooner or later finds the way to my plants; when he was a cub he bit the trunk of a young moringa tree that was already quite tall and the tree fell under its weight but first he eated up my granny smith apple seedlings I planted and had 6-8 in tall. I love-hate my little grumpy destroyer. LOL

This was a mindfully filmed and concisely edited integrated Project - from inception to completion ... including directions and corrections! That you've been consistently remarkable and genuinely humble is a gift you give to us all each morning. You are, indeed, a true joy, Laura ... and an integral part of a rather exceptional team!!!

SO MUCH FUN !!! As soon as I saw you looking down at the creek, I knew the "littles" would have a ball. I remember us damming up the creek at our summer cabin and making boats out of twigs and playing for hours. Thank you and Aaron for sharing ♥

Can't wait to see how the wreaths turn out!!! Love the drying rack you built, it turned out perfectly! I'm glad you mentioned how easy it was to grow from seed. I've been hesitant to try it, but not anymore! Those bunches are just gorgeous!!! ;)

I always use rubber bands to bind my flower stems together. They shrink as they dry. The statise is beautiful.

So FUN!!! I wouldn't touch it! Leave it right there! It's absolutely perfect 🥰. You're right, that's what a garden shed should look like. At least in my mind! That would probably be really fun for your Mom if she's up to it to make wreaths!

Even though it was short it felt like going on an adventure with Laura haha so fun! We even discovered there is a walnut tree together! How fun!! And I love hearing all the fun facts like about the skunks and he horses and the dich... I hope to see more exploring of the new property haha! Also that end result looks SOO good! I agree, you should have one on each side and in the back of the shed!! Incredible how creative and clever you are! ❤💚💜

Good morning Laura and Garden Answer followers! I'm going to say it again, this little flower shed, I could stay in there all day. And this has been so much inspiration for my little building (still in the planning phases), but will be my pottingshed, winter greenhouse, and flower shed. Mine will face south, but will have windows on three sides, North, East and South. Will be attached to my little log cabin. In my retirement, my office now. MY HAPPY PLACE. OK, I have had my inspiration, now into my gardens. All have a great day!!!

    Wow! Impressive drying rack 💪
Flora-life is what we used in our Flower Shop. And I always loved statice, even though it was considered a common filler only.
