It seems that Black African people outside of Africa have a strong sense of civic identity. Whereas Black African people in Africa have a strong sense of ethnic identity.
Not really We have and hold many identities We don't have one you can have both a strong ethnic and.national or civic identify Africans have ethnicity, tribal, family, clan, religious, national and Continental identify all in one. Most of us don't even have one religious identify even. Most of us speak more than one language, have relatives in many tribes and in many countries so I wouldn't say it's as simple to classify and categorise us.😂😊🙏

I m from Congo I heard that in Colombia there are some Afro-Colombians originated from Congo called Palenqueros and their tribe in Congo is Yombe tribe (Plural= Bayombe, singular=Muyombe)
Hello what a coincidence, im also from San Andres, I was raised in San Luis, we speak our own creole language and we consider ourselves very much Colombian but culturally different than the paña people (continental colombians). I would like to say colombia is very racist and they like to play with the idea of a multiracial population only when it’s convenient but most of the time we are considered a nuisance and “resentidos” (resentful) when we point out the blatant racism, we are usually not respected and it’s pretty obvious they considered places like choco (where a high percentage of black people live) a waste of resources, they are very unwilling to invest on us.
You did not mention the Pacific countries of Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, where their population is 100 % black. The indigenous people of Australia are the Australian Aborigines and are very black in colour. We are Melanisians and have lived here all the time without being enslaved like our African brothers. It appears that you have not done enough research before uploading your video.
The list was for what countries outside of Africa that have the the HIGHEST population of "Blacks/Afro" citizens/inhabitants. Islands of the Oceana/ Pacific area won't make the list because their populations are small in comparison to the much larger ones mentioned. Hope this helps.
Well, those people are really dark skinned, although their DNA is completelly different from Africans' blacks. As a conclusion, we may say they are not real "blacks". Greetings.
@@chesterdonnelly1212 this is based on population numbers not what percent of the country is black. Also, This is mainly focused on African diaspora of recent times. Consider that we also have the Pacific Island countries of Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Island, Australia and Papua New Guinea who have native inhabitants who are black people apart from Africa.

Unless you’re referring to the time of the Spanish colonization, though I won’t deny there are racists in Colombia (they exist in every country), Colombia is not known for being a racist country, Colombia is a poor country and yes, there’s a lot of poverty among black Colombians as there is in mestizo Colombians but there are also a lot of affluent black Colombians.
What happens in Latinamerica with us people of african ancestry is that most of us are triracial, we are the mixing of indigenous people, spaniards and africans, so this is something stuck within our DNA, so in the ethnic groups we are more let's say expanded, I myself consider "costeño" and I'm really proud of all my family being mixed, and we can live pretty well, we all are very close.

It beats me how the Caribbean is always only fleetingly mentioned in these documentaries and presentations. Outside of Africa the Caribbean is the ONLY area or region with an over 90 per cent black population. How can this be omitted and ignored? My point: only Africa and the Caribbean are - or very near - fully black.
They have a little population, in number absolutes, 90% in 10.000 is nothing. I understand what you mean, but big population of black matter more in my opinion. If all black population in these countries united and separate itself from the country, it will be even bigger than all Caribbean nations combined. The only flaw for me in this video, is the guy showing only 1minute the top 1 country, who has more influence than all Caribbean.

The Caribbean outside of Haiti, Cuba, DR, Jamaica and PR is small af. Like someone said 90% Black doesn't mean much when you have a population of only 100,000. Let me help clarify captured slave. I am a historian --- this except is from my book on Mandingo history-----: During the Great Mane war -with the expectation of being paid with slaves for his services. His name was John Hawkins. Hawkins became the richest man in England as the result of his slave trading enterprises. [3] Hawkins and his cousin Francis Drake plundered the West African coast seizing thousands of Africans from their towns and villages. They savagely attacked peaceful fishermen and traders, taking away men and women. Hawkins’s ships rampantly bombarded unsuspecting coastal villagers in Liberia and Sierra Leone, usually at night. Taking advantage of the ensuing panic and confusion, the men whom Hawkins had lying in wait would then attack the villages, blasting their guns, killing and maiming at random. Hawkins randomly murdered local leaders and forced them to give up their people. He also used powerful cannons on coastal towns.

The large Caribbean population is indeed from slavery-as are most Caribs -but the majority once again came in the mid 20th Century or later, centuries after abolition. Please fact-check in future.

Afro-Cubans are missing. They probably have the most "African culture" in the diaspora. But good list overall. that's true.... Brazil is the largest African descendent country in America but also has Latin America's ginger and blond population. But it is not something isolated here, most Mexican telenovelas don't show indigenous people unless they want to reflect very poor people.... and in Mumbai movies, most mainly stars have light eyes, light hair, or anything that resembles more European people than Indian people. we are living in a world controlled by white people and it is what they show us....
God created us all in his own image, colouring us as he wished. Are we saying he made an error? What if God is a black god. He doesn't play favourites but loves us equally. You should be more thankful he made you white.
Maybe this is just a me thing, but being referred to as "a black" instead of "a black person/individual" and hearing the phrase "got into the country" is very off-putting. When someone "gets in" it sounds like they tried to get into a cool club or organization or party...these are countries that forced Africans to work for them against their will..they didn't "get in" to the country, they were dragged there against their will. This isn't a fun organization this is a place they were brought to be exploited and suffer. Also, I am not "a black". I am not some black creation or creature or rare anomaly whose existence is strange and seperate from everything else; I am a person, an individual, a human who is black. We don't have one you can have both a strong ethnic and.national or civic identify
Africans have ethnicity, tribal, family, clan, religious, national and Continental identify all in one. Most of us don't even have one religious identify even.
Most of us speak more than one language, have relatives in many tribes and in many countries so I wouldn't say it's as simple to classify and categorise us.😂😊🙏
That’s true because we develop the culture of the land we live on that’s why Africans that are born in America develop African American culture after a while
@@elainerekopantswe2933 Exactly! People like that make generalisations about Africa without knowing the history and culture. All they know is what they've been told in the media. It is very common for Africans to speak multiple ethnic languages and socialise with other tribes and even marry other tribes. This is nothing new.
@@Njoofene it's okay I prefer when people are honest about what they think of us as Africans, it will allow us to make the right decisions and to unite us even further.
So no it won't destroy us, but it will build us.
So I'm good with all this 😊👍🙏

"Captured as Slaves"? You really should clarify who did the capturing.
In the name of the white God Jezus the European did all this.
You realize only racist say that
Exactly, but I’d go further to call the narrator to define the following terms: captured, as, slaves!

UK is not 'one of the Whitest countries' -nearly 1/5 are non-White or mixed. In London it's a half, and the next biggest city Birmingham, over a half. Also, most Black people in the UK are NOT descended from slaves -the majority being relatively recent migrants from Africa. The large Caribbean population is indeed from slavery-as are most Caribs -but the majority once again came in the mid 20th Century or later, centuries after abolition. Please fact-check in future.

Interesting video. The information on Black people in the UK is a little inaccurate. The majority of Black people in the UK are from the Caribbean and the descendants of the Windrush era not from enslaved people. There is no old or new diaspora. Most come from Jamaica which is 92% Black. The African diaspora in all these countries add an unmistakable rich energy to the cultural fabric of those nations. It was great seeing them featured.
Old diaspora was used in places like Liverpool which has one of 🇬🇧 oldest Afro communities in the country as a title when the Windrush generation started to arrive
Afro-Cubans are missing. They probably have the most "African culture" in the diaspora. But good list overall. I notice the only Black ppl not doing the stupid chest beating in the comments are Black South Americans and Black Americans. Black Brasilian culture is very "African", I know I been to Brasil. As for AAs many ppl claim AA culture is "European" but AA or at least early AA culture is unique in that it wasn't influenced by forest West African culture i.e drumming but Muslim Sahelien West African culture that focused on vocals.
You needed to add Cuba on this list also. I am half Cuban and Panamanian over 600,000 slaves went to Cuba. My mother is mixed with African and European
Yes! I was thinking the same thing!
Seems like they have more blacks than Mexico to me.
