He actually has a good point. On extended expeditions you want to have non perishables that last for a long time, things like dried beans and salted pork in rashers. Good strong whiskey is an excellent disinfectant and will take the edge off minor ailments, and lard is useful in that it keeps for virtually forever and can be re rendered and used multiple times. There's a reason why pioneers and sailors didn't keep fresh fruits and vegetables on long expeditions
EDIT: make one offhanded and hastily researched shitpost comment, and suddenly everyone is a fucking maritime historian.

I had seen so many versions of Journey to the Center of the Earth before this movie that Atlantis feels so out of place and crappy in comparison. I can admit it's on the list of my least favorite Disney movies because the plot is choppy and the character roster is overbloated, making it impossible to really click with somebody despite that these characters are interesting.
The only good parts about the movie is the talent and the jokes. Some of the science holds up pretty well or did given the time period they were trying to represent, but that's what I expect at bare minimal for a Disney movie.
Action sequences were tedious and I wanted them to be over rather than enjoying the work put in. It felt like padding because they didn't know how the plot would move forward without exploding things or making part of the team so obviously sus that Jessica Rabbit would stop the movie and "Hey remember I may not be bad, I'm just drawn that way, but I don't claim these two!"
      At this point...
I'd rather be watching Wishbone reenact some scenes from the book instead of this steampunk'd out wreck. It's not good. It wasn't good when I was a kid. The cult status of this movie is overhyped. If people can't accept the movie sucked while enjoying it then maybe there's a problem.
There, you leave out bait you get someone to bite you.
