I'd been texting a buddy of mine who's recently made the transition from born and bred Masshole to newfound Ohioan, where the subject of legendary junctions came up seeing as the conversation came about from him sitting at one of them. It then got me thinking of this one (of which I've never been), and I realized how little I really knew about it, which also brought to mind the realization that I'd never watched your compilation from here that you posted a year or so ago...turns out it was great accompaniment to finishing off last night's leftovers lol. What I honestly liked best about watching this was seeing "characters" from all of the different routes and locales in the East that I've been to all my life all showing up in the same place. Boston & Albany, Pittsburgh Line, West Shore, Harrisburg Division, Water Level Route, and even trains running the Boston & Maine (22K and G056) were represented here. Cool stuff. You had a really good streak going power-wise on the CSX side about halfway through. I couldn't tell you the last time I ever saw 3 flared SD70MACs lashed together, and C40-8 and SD70ACe leaders were always the two favorites of mine that I'd hope to land on the point of a yellow-nosed train. Too bad only one of which is possible now...
I was just out at the diamond of the Willard Subdivision and the Sandusky District this past week! THAT was definitely a hotspot as well. Great shots by the way!
+crail4ever With all of the possible locations we had to choose from while staying where we did, it's absolutely worth a visit. I'm glad we got there when we did - I just read a few days ago that the old signals seen here have all come down.
***** Its a very popular location indeed. I was a regular person from 03-08 and during the summer, my dad and I would sit out underneath one of the trees in lawn chairs and I'd have my camera with me filming whatever came through the area. Some of the stuff on my account is what I took during those days. I still show up there but not as frequently as I did back in the those days
+Michigan Rail Productions It's a great spot if you're looking to see a lot of trains without having to move around to different locations. Photography-wise, I think we got away with a bit on this day because of the weather. Normally, with the sun out I think it would be setting on the other side of the tracks, shining into the camera, so sunny afternoon/evening shots would be a little tricky.
+henpok9 Cool, what scale? I don't think the RF&P Berks get a lot of attention; they always seem to be overshadowed by the Statesman and General-class 4-8-4s.
Great catches. That CP Train @166 comes within a few miles from my house up here in Canada. Excellent video Dave.

Best Berea vid I've seen yet. Thanks for putting together and posting.
+Reid Selby Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, very well done!

+RVA Railfan Attica Junction? We caught 3 trains in about 11 minutes there. I can only imagine what a full day's traffic looks like.
It's pretty impressive. I was only there for 2 hours or so before moving up to Bellevue and I saw 7 trains between CSX and NS.
But man, 3 trains in 11 minutes? Holy crap...
I really want to get up there. This is a place I have always wanted to visit.

Nice to see that you had a chance to stop by my old stomping groups
+DASCO2136 In spite of the weather, there was a good crowd there that day, lawn chairs, drink coolers, and all.

I remember Conrail passing by Berea tower in 1991 while I was watching Pentrex Best of 1991
It's a great train-watching location, for sure. I hope to make it back there one of these days, in better weather of course.
Those are some nice trains that you caught.
Thanks! I want to get out there again one day, and hopefully in better weather.
FastFlyingVirginian Your welcome.
Nice! I looks like I need to go out that way in the future!

Alright.
Hey fast flying virginian, just found our my grandpa had a RF&P Richmond to Washington Capitol Limited Berkshire hiding in his collection

HO, goes nicely with my 765 Berk and a few other NKP steam engines
