Hi you two:) We’ve all heard & possibly tried Single Malt Scotch whisky, Very nice it is too, BUT, did you know there is an English Whisky produced in Devon? As you know with the Scotch you can taste & smell the peat of the highlands, well I swear you can taste the Granite of the Moors in Devon. Just saying:)
If and when you go to wales, go find some Lava bread..my poor South African wife phoned me up froma,Swansea bakery wanting to.get me some lava bread. You need to go.to a fish mongers Emmy I replied. She found it. As for Haggis delicious.
I bought a pack of six jam ones yesterday for the first time in some time, ate the lot and still didn't feel sick . I swear they are a 3rd the size they used to be, robbing🤬
I used to buy them in the early 70's from the school tuck shop. 2 new pence each. And I used to like Club 'fruit' or 'coffee' versions. In fact I liked most chocolate bars that came with coffee flavour versions but you hardly ever get anything other than limited runs of Kit Kats that seem exclusive to Milton Keynes.
When over in the USA we never buy any British products from the supermarkets because the prices are just ridiculously expensive in comparison to back home. The prices are at least double if not triple the price back in the UK.
The dry powder Colmans mustard is worth having in the spice cupboard. Mix with flour to coat a beef roast, put in any cheese dish to multiply the favour and mix with vinegar or water to make fresh (strong) mustard.
That was great! Thanks for the tour ladies, it helped to brighten up my Monday! I always enjoy going shopping with you 😊... I wonder if you would consider doing a tour of some of your other big stores? I'd love to see more.
Them exact mushy peas used be 3 tins for £1 . They are usually about 60p now, 3 pack for 1.50 . That's the good brand too. I've often seen "fake" British food in the US stores, which are made only for export and youd never see in the UK.
Watching with Mum this morning as she's here looking after me and loves your videos. She was shocked by some of the prices but loved seeing the store and everything they had too. And she loved seeing the houses too, happy Monday to you both 😊
I saw White Pudding near the black pudding!....slice, smear with butter,grill....add a splash of malt vinegar....eat with a fried breakfast of bacon, fried eggs, beans on toast!
Tiptree boy here! Growing up in the 70s in the jam capital of the world! You could smell what they were making. However only one posh shop in the village sold Wilkins jam, Mr Kettleys. Wasn't in our two mainstream supermarkets. We used to bike to the factory in the summer holidays and see if they needed any help. Still make my own jam, it's in the blood.
As I said in a past chat ,I just love some of the buildings in your neighbourhood on the way to the store. I would love if you explored your city for us in a vlog .Greetings ladies from Australia .
Great video as always , i remember a previous video , i think it was the couple having a January late Xmas dinner , that you hadnt tried roast parsnips , they are to die for , sweet and crispy and so tasty 🤣🤣 xx
You can cook mushy peas for a lot less than that. Are dried marrowfat peas available in the US? If so, just soak a load of those overnight, after adding a heaped dessertspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda. In the morning, drain and rinse them thoroughly, then boil them slowly until 'the mushiness' takes over, add salt to taste and serve. Try serving them with malt vinegar - they'll be delicious. As a child if we'd had mushy peas with our lunch, I'd have a mugful of what was left over for my supper, totally drowned in malt vinegar - Mmmm lovely!
Do you have a yard? Buy some marrowfat pea seeds and grow your own mushy peas, it's what I do and they're delicious as well as super cheap! Debbie has great taste, Curly Wurly's are elite level! The mark up is eye-watering, I just got that exact 12 pack of Walkers crisps from Tesco for £3, but imported goods are always expensive wherever you live, I'd strongly advise you try the Fox's triple as they're excellent!!!! Love the Sherwood Forest theme and Robin Hood, keeping it classy!!! 😁
The theme music playing in the background whilst Robin Hood is talking sounds exactly like what used to play about 15 years ago when you walked through the visitors centre at Sherwood Forest.
That was fun,, love a trip to jungle Jim's. You could spend a day just wondering around and then spend a fortune at the till. The price of chocolate and sweets isn't too bad but essential are abit pricey. Great video girlies once again. Thank you for magic Monday ❤❤
Living in Spain I can identify with looking for UK products abroad. There is always a mark up on price also. Not as much as the USA though. I do love Colman's mustard, Bovril is much better than marmite! Since Brexit British goods are not so available now. Spain produces a lot of their own cheese, not a patch on British cheese.
Up here in Latvia, I can get good British cheese (in the Nordic equivalent of the M&S store), Snowdonia Cheese company stuff, for example. But it's €5.50 a packet upwards...
The overseas supermarket in the Alicante region has a selection of British products, but they have to get their goods via the republic of Ireland! It's a shame they don't have Tesco throughout Europe!
Superb video.....loved the view of the city on the way to Jungle Jims.... beautiful......and then strangely very excited to see my favourite cheese Sage Derby on the shelves (its difficult to get it in the UK these days)....brilliant loved this!
If you can buy dried marrowfat peas you can make mushy peas from scratch quite easily. You can then portion them up and freeze them. It’ll be far more cost effective and they do freeze really well.
Tiptree is sooo good. Little Scarlett is the most expensive variety of strawberry in the world. Tiptree own the variety. It's about £5 a jar. I actually have a video up showing around the Tiptree factory and how they make jam and a bit on its history. Its about 10 minutes "Made In Britain - How Tiptree Jam is made"
Natasha and Debbie, you can do your own mushy peas. Buy dried marrowfat peas and soak them overnight in water and baking soda. Rinse them in clean water then boil them till they turn soft and mushy. I like to enjoy a small bowl of them with mint sauce and a dash of white pepper.
The price of the Marmite sounds surprisingly reasonable. For most households that would be $5.99 for three months supply, $10.99 for a years supply, $15.99 for a lifetime supply! 😉
Brennan's is the best bread ... I'm from NY but when I visited my granny in Ireland as a kid and go shopping with her. They would send the loaf through a cutting machine if she wanted it sliced
The ressson why you have Irish stuff is where so close beside each other we have all the UK food here in Ireland my respite will be taking me to the north of Ireland today. Everybody in 2 hours driving distance shops up north because it's much cheaper. And today I will be in my wheelchair so I get to visit all the stores I love it. 24 bottles of water for 4 pound. And all the goodies is so much cheaper and yes we also have marmite some love some hate. But you Reilly do only put a tiny bit on toast. I Been watching the show for a long time yorkshair tea is the best. I love the show. 😊
Great to see you out and about in your home town. Liked the look of the residential area on your drive. Just for comparison at current prices and exchange rate, in the UK: Walkers 12-pack of crisps is £3.00 ($3.80), Marmite 250g medium jar £3.00 ($3.80), Colmans Mustard 150g at £1.90 ($2.41), Batchelor's Mushy peas are 80p ($1.01), Tiptree Little Scarlet Conserve is £4.60 ($5.83). I recommend you buy some Colmans Mustard - it's hot, so only use a little. Ideal in a ham sandwich, cheese and ham toastie, and if making a cheddar cheese sauce (for example a califlower cheese), adding a little adds depth to the cheddar flavour.
Raisin & Biscuit Yorkie was the highlight! If you like Fruit'n'Nut, then you'll probably enjoy that. Do they do Gentleman's Relish? A spiced anchovy paste, usually spread thinly on hot buttered toast. Also an ingredient in the wonderfully named Scotch Woodcock. Little Scarlet is the closest thing I've found to my Nan's strawberry jam (1970s/80s). Even in the UK, it's £4.60! The quince jelly, to the right of it, is worth trying. Nice on buttered crumpets or (English) muffins. Also good with Cheddar cheese. Yorkshire Brack (if they have it) is a fruitcake made with tea. Nice with a slice of Wensleydale cheese and a cup of tea (with milk 😉) . Red Leicester is (IMHO) the best cheese for a cheese toastie (with thinly-sliced tomato, so the inside is like lava!). Getting really good fish and chips is difficult in the UK, so I wouldn't hold out much hope in Ohio... Thank you for the video, N&D.✌
LOL, I was born in Nottingham & have visited the 'Royal Oak' a few times, but never heard THAT accent before 😂😂Yeah, here in the U.K. we've been hit hard by the latest price rises for sure! as well as manufactures shrinking the size of products, which nobody seems to notice or mind it seems... some of those prices aren't too bad to be honest! Great channel, keep it up 👏🤙🖖✌🤘👌👍🍻
Great video girls!!❤❤ What a bizarre shop!! An international mega market but with fibre glass animals and a fibre glass Major Oak with Robin Hood in the British/Irish section😅😅😅😅😅😅! The tea section was interesting...You have a greater selection of herbal/fruit tea than would be in any actual British supermarket!!!
See? I knew Debbie had immense taste! Curly Wurlys are great. Never mind them being a very specifically aimed at kids thing. I'm in the 50s and still love em. And yeah those prices are expensive sure but if you look at them as treats then it's not so bad. Just a shame that you have to look at them that way. (I'm in the same boat in Australia but being from the UK and finding UK snacks here)
I’m 204 Days clean but was on a minimum of 5 Bottles of wine a day in 2022.. I could only afford the German stuff. I’m surprised on your low ish prices 👀
@@TheNatashaDebbieShow Thank you! Well done Natasha. I’ve had the toughest year of my life (I hate saying that when I think of the suffering in Gaza) but I’ve stayed clean & now I know I can ‘Do’ life Sober whatever it throws at me ❤️
Really enjoyed this ladies, thankyou for showing us. You have lots of our brands and recognized all of it. Very expensive maybe thats to do with import charges from the UK
Birmingham UK here. Your neighbourhood looks impressive. Huge houses with football field sized front lawns. Very green too. You should show us more of suburban Cincinnati. Would love to see it. Stay calm and eat Curlywurlies.
Just found your channel and love it. Being from the Uk my fave snacks are Fox's Golden Crunch Creams, Lemon Puff biscuits, Fry's mint chocolate cream bar, daim bars, aero mint chocolate, Galaxy caramel and York Fruits (they are sweets). If you find them give em a go :)
If you like mushy peas, I would recommend looking out for the dried marrowfat peas. All that you need to add to them is water, a pinch of salt and some bicarbonate of soda.
Beautiful neighbourhood ladies - I think I would get lost in that shop. When importing like they must do, you can understand the pricing. I must admit to being surprised that they had so many products that are actually popular in the UK rather than what you see sometimes in foreign stores - products that, though British are not really sold in the UK or if they are, are not really on supermarket shelves. I must say well done Jungle Jims
You should definitely try Colman's mustard but be warned a little goes a long way. Some of your prices weren't that much more than here, Newcastle Brown Ale being one example (but most were between 50% and 100% higher). The tea section is massive compared to our supermarkets, we'd need to go to a specialist tea retailer to get anything like that choice.
I love your Jungle Jim Store . It looks fantastic. Could spend a whole day there . Wish we had a place like that in Swansea, South Wales. Great having you back again. Missed you both. ❤
Loved seeing you out and about. The drive-in was so pretty with all those mahoosive wooden houses and massive lawns at the front. So fresh and green. So funny that you were shopping under the roots of a massive plastic tree. What's that all about? So funny seeing all our familiar brands but with huge markup prices. Oh my God, the jam and cheese prices!! 🤪
That shop is insanely massive love how random the Jungle theam is. Love your excursions videos and seeing the neighbourhoods. Great video 😊 long live Cheddar Cheese the best Cheese in the world 🌎 brought tears to my eyes😂
two things that are definately worth a try that were on the shelves, Colmans English Mustard, be careful it's nothing like your yellow mustard, it will light you up, the other scrummy item is Munchies chocolates

Less than 2 minutes into this video, I just have to comment how green and spacious your neighbourhood looks! ❤
The prices are a lot dearer their I can get most of the biscuits for 60 pence or less in my local LIDL's,
yeah i was just thinking the same thing looks lovley xx
looks beautiful
@paulhenman9907 it's because it's expensive to ship it to America so the items are expensive on their side to cover the import cost.
I recall when Wagon Wheels were like actual wagon wheels Now they are wrist-watch cogs.😅
I bought a pack of six jam ones yesterday for the first time in some time, ate the lot and still didn't feel sick . I swear they are a 3rd the size they used to be, robbing🤬

Better after being in the freezer

Battered and deep fried. Munch

Tizer soda is a classic British soft drink and not sold in that many shops today. Once was very popular in 60s 70s.

🎉 good work stay strong. Big hugs even though you have arsenal in your profile name. 🤣❤️
@@TheNatashaDebbieShow Thank you! Well done Natasha. I’ve had the toughest year of my life (I hate saying that when I think of the suffering in Gaza) but I’ve stayed clean & now I know I can ‘Do’ life Sober whatever it throws at me ❤️
Awesome vid. The places you filmed on the way were pretty nice too.
My all time favourite chocolate bar is Bounty so I thank the USA from the bottom of my heart for inventing such a treat! Thank you 😊
♥️♥️
Really enjoyed this ladies, thankyou for showing us. You have lots of our brands and recognized all of it. Very expensive maybe thats to do with import charges from the UK
Birmingham UK here. Your neighbourhood looks impressive. Huge houses with football field sized front lawns. Very green too. You should show us more of suburban Cincinnati. Would love to see it. Stay calm and eat Curlywurlies.
Thank you! We do lots of local videos on Patreon.
Fish shop to night girls I will be think of you when iam eating it😂
Mushy peas too!
That was such a good video. Really enjoyed it👍
We put Curly Wurlitzer in the freezer. When you take them out you can tap them and they break up into bitesize pieces.
Excellent idea 💡
If you like mushy peas, I would recommend looking out for the dried marrowfat peas. All that you need to add to them is water, a pinch of salt and some bicarbonate of soda.
That's a shop? It looks like you're going to the zoo! 🙂🏴
Double decker chocolate bars and boost chocolate bars are some of my favs if you aint tried 100% worth it
Beautiful neighbourhood ladies - I think I would get lost in that shop.
22:31 love the cheese swap 😂
The Picnic bars are amazing.
What a fun video, fantastic little tour! 🥰
Try the Picnic bar and the Yorkie (Biscuit & Raisin)
Just found your channel, loving your videos
Amazing! Love these two patriotic girls.
Hi Girls, glad to see you back. Looks like a great place to shop and sit and enjoy the surroundings. Hope you get what you want.
That was absolutely fascinating. Thanks. The prices were generally really high, of course.
