    These are great, thank you.
09:04 - A one-armed man, a right-armed-only man as is Mark Saber (but it cannot be Mark Saber because Mark Saber is in the car) walks along the sidewalk. What a casting coincidence!

I remember watching this show as a kid. It was on NBC on Saturday afternoons. The show was called "Detective's Diary". It was on at 12:30 and ran from 1957-1961. A one-armed private detective operating out of London was quite a unique character. I don't think anyone ever referred to his handicap including Saber. I liked Saber's stylish apartment which had a great view of Big Ben. Saber had a series of assistants. The other assistants were guys. I like the spunky young woman in this episode. I don't think Ron Randell was in this episode. Good little 30-minute mystery. Donald Gray played Saber. Gray lost his arm during World War II in 1944. Gray had entered the army as a private and rose to captain. In 1952 Gray was in "Island of Desire" where he and 19-year old Tab Hunter were both hot for beautiful nurse Linda Darnell. I also seem to remember a night time NBC version of Mark Saber where Saber was a Scotland Yard detective with two arms. Inspector Saber was played by Tom Conway, brother of George Sanders.

The other show was "Mystery Theatre: Inspector Marc Saber of the Homicide Squad", and ran from 1951-54.

Yes Tom Conway and George Sanders were brothers born in St.Petersburg Russia migrated to the US and were very successful .
George killed himself because he. Left a note to say he was bored with life. Tom died in s boarding house broke his ex wife one of the Gabor Sisters gave him money from time to time. He also was a compulsive smoker. Very sad indeed. R.I.P.

Ron Randell was the host of the 1955 edition of "THE VISE"- when it was a true crime anthology before it became "Mark Saber's" program. The episodes of the 1955-'57 series (before it became "SABER OF LONDON" in the fall of '57) were syndicated as "UNCOVERED"- and repeated on NBC's Saturday afternoon schedule [following "TRUE STORY"] as the initial episodes of "DETECTIVE'S DIARY" in early '57.
This episode was originally telecast on "THE VISE" [ABC] on April 19, 1957.

Does Prince 'Pavlov', have a dog 🤔?? Yea, yea, I know (Pavlow)🙄…………
Was deprived of this interesting, detective show, some 50 years ago, when I was a kid. Also like the fact that, Donald Grey wasn't acting, about his arm. Functioned very dexterously, even without it.

"Have you a Band Aid?" Shows that it was made for the US in the UK in the 1950s they would have said,"Elastoplast" or just "a plaster".

Just came across this on iMDB after watching ‘Saber of London’ on TH-cam. Unlikely Saber’s assistant Tanya (Magna Miller) as she only thought of food, as her mind wasn’t on the job, I liked her outfit at the end as Sherlock.

Did you know the patriot, Donald Gray-Marc Saber, is actor George Sanders brother?! Neat huh..

      @kaydee4296 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes. Both met with tragic ends too, even though being great actors. Sanders is one of my favorites.

No you are confused, Tom Conway was George Sanders brother they were in the Falcon Series together then Tom took over then later he played Mark Saber then along came Donald Gray and he took over.
So that resolves that. 🤗 Donald Gray was born in South Africa while George & Tom were born in
      St. Petersburg
      Russia.

Albert G. Miller, the writer, made a small mistake in the script. According to Wikipedia, he was an American, and that's why he made the mistake. In Britain, the first floor of a building is the floor which, in the US, would be called the second floor. So, the second floor would be the same as the third floor in the US. Jack Forest, the husband, who is in room 2G, at 14:43 says that he was two floors above the pool where his wife supposedly drowned. In reality, he was three floors away.

I thought Saber's assistant dropped and broke the glass intentionally to provide Saber a reason to enter and fossick around in the bathroom, doing his detective stuff.
