When I was a kid, I had a cowboy/lawman rifle that had this same sound chip inside it (although it played a different sound every time the trigger was pulled). It was hilarious having a cowboy gun that sounded like a laser blaster from Star Wars.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I had that same gun but mine was the full size one but I also had the keychain one. man I wish I could find myself a full size one man those were good times.
I had 2 toy guns that did the same things as yours but it was more of a phaser pistol. It had 4 very bright white light bulbs (Not LEDs) on the top of the barrel and a nice sounding speaker and it ran on 2 AA batteries and it played the 8 gun noises heard in this vid one sound per pull and if held it would play that sound continuously and after the 8 sounds if you hold the trigger it would cycle thru them all for as long as the trigger is held. I would really like to find one of these again.
@exposed97 yeah i've seen those, and those cheesy toy cellphones that just fall apart b/c they r minimally held together which means if u drop it it breaks into many pieces. and recording the sounds directly to a wav file is almost impossible.
I dont think thats possible but im not sure. the rec mod was probably just the guts of a voice recorder stuffed inside the keychain housing. but I do remember one of my friends at school mentioning that it is possible to re program chips but im not really sure about that. most of those chips are read only like a cd rom disc or DVD rom.

Do you know of a mod article that tells you how to change the sounds? I came across one years ago for a pocket keychain, and it also had a modded button for REC. I want to make a keychain of my tutors comedy quotes at each button press :D

Some of the sounds on this thing are used in various movies like toy story.

I had a device like that. It beeped when you whistled. I tried to mod it to put in a brighter LED but It broke and I tossed it.
Ok how did you get the trpple a battery's to work?
Just connect the + and - of the AAA battery holder to the + and - of the executor and it should work. Then just glue it to the back.
